We loved her style from the beginning, after learning about Seascape as a recommended vendor from our venue in Carmel Valley. We were looking for a soft, unstructured, and romantic garden look to compliment our overall vision, and she absolutely nailed it! I remember when we showed up for our centerpiece mockup meeting, she had the design complete and ready on the table for our arrival. Looks like they are a Teleflora retailer because they were the florist for my order. Not only did they deliver the flowers one day late but they looked nothing like what was pictured on the website. I understand changes happen due to the availability of flowers, which is fine, but everything was so shoddy it looked like someone with no flower arranging experience put together the bouquet. They were delivered on Wednesday and by Saturday flowers were dying. These were for my mom in the hospital so I was really disappointed. read more

Well after finding out several days later that the order had not been delivered, at least a little remorse or an apology might have been a better response. I almost have no words. Darcy did such a beautiful job on the flowers for our wedding day in Carmel! We're from Southern CA so aren't familiar with any vendors in the Bay Area. I'm SO happy we found Darcy at Seascape. Our wedding coordinator highly recommended her based on the flower arrangements/style I wanted. I can't even count how many compliments we got on the flowers. Yeah, this review has been a long time coming. I've used seascape flowers a hand full of times with each disappointing more than the next. The women are beyond stuck up and RUDE! You almost seem like you are bothering them. Today I went in to get a bouquet for my aunt. No one was there at the counter just a woman making an arrangement in the corner. After not greeting me, and walking around for a few minutes, she said "do you need something?" Haha you're kidding me, right. I clearly said no thank you and walked out ready to spend 100+ it just seems like everyone in seascape is stuck up and thinks they are better than others. I've been born and raised in this neighborhood and am embarrassed and mortified this is my local flower shop. When I got home, I posted a poll on my instagram abotu them, and let's just say within 1 minute, I had over 10 DMs saying the EXACT same thing and 90% responding it is atrocious-so nicely put it, it's not isolated to me and my experience rather a trend. And being someone born and raised working for one of our counties largest employers, I will NOT recommend this place nor use it for personal or professional (would've been lots of business). To the owner, please take this review to heart. We are all doing the best we can right now and buying flowers should be a highlight of my day not something for me to take the energy and write a negative review but I've had enough. Seascape Flowers did a magnificent job! I never whore a boutonniere before, so I started researching it in preparation for Mom's 80th Birthday. I saw a lot of synthetic ones and thought about a real one. I came in to Seascape Flowers a week ahead to figure this all out. When I told them I'll be wearing a violet shirt with a navy blue suite, blue bowtie with violet polka dots and a purple pocket square, they suggested the anemone flower. What a perfect fit with the color palette! They also suggested flowers for mom. What a beautiful bouquet. It even had a few anemone to match my boutonniere! What could have been an unpleasant interaction was quickly and politely resolved with phone call. I received a birthday arrangement on Tuesday, July 21st sent from my son and daughter in law in Carson city to me in Aptos. It looked sad upon arrival- a lot of Ivy with a mix of flowers that were in the pink family with small hollyhock -like stems that lost a lot of their bells. I'm sure my son didn't buy the most expensive arrangement; still to me it looked like the arranger took what flowers one had on hand and needed to be used right away; by Friday morning the pink roses were brown at some of the tips, the dahlias were droopy and definitely old and brown underneath, zinnias were pretty but "crunchy". By the time I threw out the faded flowers I realized I needed to call Seascape Florist and email them the pictures I took. Stacy listened and right away thanked me for the feedback. Another bouquet would be delivered the next day. There were no excuses or questioning me- just no problem, another arrangement would be sent. Her business, she told me, really takes feedback to heart and appreciates knowing what customers think. I did text her 2 pictures just so she could see what I meant. We hired Darcy and her team to provide flowers and other design for our wedding in Carmel Valley. We had only kind of a vague design concept when we hired her, and I really don't know much about flowers or design, but Darcy was so great at taking our concept and refining it and working with it to come up with something we absolutely loved. We had a Hindu/Catholic fusion wedding, and wanted something that both honored my husband's Indian culture but also felt like modern California. Darcy did a fabulous job executing that idea, much better than I could have ever dreamed! They did bouquets, table arrangements, designed the escort card display, designed and built our ceremony structure, provided garlands for the ceremony, cake flowers, and so much more. I don't like a lot of the more traditional wedding florals, but the work they created for us felt fresh and unique. We don't have the professional photos back, but I can't wait to see them, since I was so busy to fully appreciate all of the table arrangements and other florals! But we got a ton of compliments from guests about how beautiful all of our flowers were. They were on time and incredibly responsive -- Darcy would often respond to my emails within the hour, even at super weird times! And she was willing to work with our many, many last minute changes -- we probably revised the contract 20 times, but she never complained or made any issue of it. I was so happy with both the service we received and the way everything was executed. Would very highly recommend. BETTER WEAR A TIE! SEASCAPE FLOWERS ONLY CATERS TO THE ULTRA WEALTHY I went to seascape flowers to purchase some flowers for my daughters preschool teachers. I didn't have much time or money and had just come from work; I looked dirty but not homeless. My wife was wearing the santa cruz standard, hooded sweatshirt and jeans. As we pulled in and parked next to her flower van, we noticed her newer model Mercedes S series parked in the handicapped spot in front of her business. This business has an ocean view and is high end. As she ordered around her daughter and Hispanic worker, she gave us the fakest "Hello, what can do for you" I told her I wanted buy some lilies and pointed at the larger lilies and told her how I had just purchased some from her establishment last week and they were beautiful and made my house smell amazing. I gave her my budget and began to shop around for greeting cards and possibly a little gift. As we began to browse through over priced soaps and sea shells, we instantly felt like she was watching our every move, as if we were casing the place. After a few moments I asked my wife to come pick out two thank you cards and noticed that she hadn't put any lilies into our arrangements. I kindly asked her if she could modify the flowers and include lilies. I also asked that she didn't include any mini roses. I told her that I purchased the mini roses with the beautiful lilies on my last visit and that the ALL DIED the next day. I put them in water and told her we live near by. She looked at us as if I was Lying. She wouldn't accept that the mini roses died so fast. My wife game me a look that said "Are you kidding me? This woman is a .....!" She next told me that the lilies I wanted were more expensive and wouldn't fit in my budget and she would have to take out some flowers. If the graduation wasn't in an hour I would have left. Since I didn't have the luxury of time I just took a deep breath and gave her a fake smile and said "Not a problem" We picked out an overpriced thank you card and her daughter gave us a complementary blank card with the business name on it even though these are free to all whom purchase flowers; she did it in an attempt to lighten the tension between her snobby mom. The daughter seemed friendly. After we Purchased our flowers we walked out feeling sick. It was as if we just ate horrible food or saw a dog get hit by a car. My wife complained about the flower lady the entire way to the graduation. That's what I wanted after leaving work and spending my last few bucks on flowers for someone I'm never going to see again. Here's what I got out of the place. It's Over priced. Her Mercedes cost over $70,000 and it's a flower shop with horrible service. Her daughter is kind and the woman who was there last time who wasn't the owner was AMAZING! she should own the joint. . Here's what I want you to know. Your service is garbage. Your flowers are hit or miss. I've spent hundreds of dollars there in the last year and now I will never return. Working with Darcy for our wedding in August 2016 at Gardener Ranch (Carmel Valley) was an absolute pleasure and she made our wedding decor come to life by perfectly capturing our aesthetic in the florals that she arranged for us. As a novice when it comes to florals, I could only really describe colors, general look (rustic, romantic), and VERY limited flower types to Darcy. However, having reviewed our Pinterest board and being the super knowledgeable and patient person that she is, Darcy was able to provide great suggestions for florals during our consultation, which also showed in the proposal she put together for us. I had my wedding at Seascape Resort in Aptos, CA, so I initially called their preferred vendor list. I was looking for someone who could do Hawaiian/South Pacific-style flowers which can be a little challenging, but Laurie right away told me she was up for the project and that she would research Hawaii shipment options if needed. We booked her about a year out and had 2 sit-down meetings with her, along with email communication throughout. I gave her a picture collage of my flower ideas and colors, went over preferences on each piece at our detail meeting, and then asked her to use her professional opinion. What we got were GORGEOUS flower centerpieces, bouquets, arch arrangements, corsages, boutonnieres, etc. All guests commented on how beautiful the flowers were and how tropical, fresh, and bright they were. She was super easy to work with--we put together a Pinterest page with a few ideas for types of flowers and colors for the wedding, then met with Laurie in person. I don't even know where to begin with this review. Simply put, Darcy is hands down THE MOST AMAZING florist you will ever work with. My husband and I just got married at Holman Ranch on November 18, 2017 and Darcy absolutely blew us away. When we first hired Seascape in summer of 2016, my vision was of a fall wedding with deep pomegranates and rich fall tones. However, as time went on, I changed my mind a million times. The ultimate color palette we settled on was white and cream florals with TONS of greenery accented with charcoal and dove greys on the tables. Not once in the 150+ e-mails between Darcy and I did she make me feel like I was a bother. She probably did 7+ contract proposal revisions for me and each time she did it without complaint and with a quick turn around no less. When we showed up the day of the wedding, my mouth literally dropped open (seriously). I was shouting like a crazy person just how amazed I was by Darcy's work--I was beaming ear to ear. She took an already beautiful space and turned it next level. Even the on-site event manager at the venue said he had never seen the carriage house look so beautiful. When the venue wouldn't let us remove this ugly wagon wheel chandelier or hang anything from it, Darcy brilliantly fashioned a hoop of lush greenery to suspend from around the chandelier and draped tons of greenery from the ceiling to make us feel like we were outdoors. It was insane. When she had left over greenery for the ceiling installation, she used it to decorate other spaces that she knew I didn't love (but didn't do anything about due to budget). I thought that was amazing and it speaks so much to just how honest, generous and kind she is. The blooms were gorgeous. The bouquets were SO full and beautiful, and I was honestly surprised because having been in a few weddings as a bridesmaid one thing I always noticed was how small bouquets for bridesmaids seemed to be. Not Darcy, though. She made sure the bridesmaid's bouquets were full and just as I imagined without charging us extra to make them what I believe to be the right size. We wanted to keep some of the centerpieces so as to reuse them at our farewell brunch the day after the wedding so Darcy made sure to put them in portable centerpiece holders and have them ready for transport. She also made arrangements for her team to drop off this gorgeous wreath she had made for our wedding at our hotel the morning after the wedding so that we could take it home. It is still hanging in our home and looks gorgeous. I could seriously go on forever about Darcy because she was hands down my favorite vendor to work with. She is humble, kind, sweet, honest, fair, a savvy and kick-ass business woman and a true floral artist. My girlfriend (now wife) and I decided to get married on a whim and chose Santa Cruz as the location for our wedding. We planned our wedding for the Saturday after New Year's Day not really thinking that flowers were going to be hard to come by--we were wrong! (As an FYI, the flower growers in the county go on vacation for the holidays during this period since demand is low and flower availability is poor given that it's winter). We drove all over Santa Cruz County and could not find a florist to make my wife a bouquet. Luckily we asked the shop that made our cake if they could recommend anyone and they suggested we check out Seascape Flowers. We got to Seascape Flowers and as we approached the store we could see a dreaded "we are closed for the holidays" sign on the door. I called Seascape back in March and was told to get an estimate for my wedding I needed to email the woman who deals with events (Darcy.) I emailed her March 17th. No word back. I called today, April 10th, almost a MONTH later. First she asked me my date. When I told her, she said "Oh we might already be booked that weekend. I will ask my partner if we can take on one more." Did they email you before March?! Then she had trouble finding my email, and proceeded to tell me they have a $4500 minimum to "make it worth their while." So my wedding isn't important and expensive enough for you?! I am so irritated with the conversation but decided to ask anyway how much they items I asked for in my email would cost. She didn't want to tell me, but rather keep asking her own questions. I had almost had it when I said we would not need centerpieces, as would be doing our own. Did I even mention flowers? No. But she quickly snapped that their "company policy" does not allow for any other vendors. I am not a vendor... and I made my centerpieces with love and re-purposed wood that was special to us. When I asked why this is, I got some lame ass excuse of " we want to focus on each of our clients and give them the best..." blah blah blah. Bullshit. You just want more money. I wouldn't work with someone like this! She has little compassion for her customers, horrible etiquette in returning calls and emails and isn't willing to work with customers who aren't shelling out thousands of dollars. Not even a recommendation for another florist to work with. I work in retail and I at least try to get the customer what the need, even if that means going somewhere else. read more

The day-of I was STUNNED at how beautiful all of the flowers were. My bouquet was so gorgeous, I couldn't have imagined it to be as beautiful as it was. Our floating chandelier and table flowers also completely exceeded my expectations. In fact, it was the flowers that really helped to take my venue and decor to the next level. Laurie and Seascape Flowers did an absolutely WONDERFUL job for my wedding on May 12th, 2012. The bouquets, boutennaires, corsages, and all floral arrangements were stunning and exactly what I had dreamed of. When Laurie first delivered them to the wedding venue I was completely blown away by the gorgeous arrangements. When the wedding was over I took all the flowers to my husband and my hotel room so that we could enjoy them for our honeymoon.
