Extremely disappointed. Technician came on June 4th to service the Garden Tractor. Charged $1,000+ for parts and we haven't seen anyone since. Had an appointment for July 14 but was cancelled by Sears as some parts were on back order. We've had numerous online chats and Sears staff say they can't help us. We have 2.5 acres to mow & haven't been able to as the tractor won't run. Neighbor came with bushhog and mowed for us. Tractor has been sitting outside of barn in all the weather as we aren't able to move it. We have many Craftsman products and thoroughly disappointed with the lack of service. I ordered a new dryer motor two weeks ago on June28th and paid a priority shipping fee of $21.00. It was due to arrive on Monday,July 02. It did not arrive so on Tuesday so I called Sears and they offered to refund my priority shipping fee. They then updated the new delivery date as Thursday, July 5th. The package did not arrive so on Saturday July 7th so I called Sears Parts Direct. They told me the new delivery date by the US Post Office would be on Monday, July 9th. This was to repair our 2-year old Kenmore Elite dishwasher which kept stopping intermittently after beginning the wash cycle. Sears communication was excellent in terms of sending reminders about the appointment and the window in which the repairman was to arrive. He also called when he was on the way which is always much appreciated. He quickly diagnosed the issue to be a door lock. Sounds mundane but it is an electronic component that was failing. The repairman said it was a common issue. He replaced it and the problem seems to have been fixed. My issue is with the labor charge. It cost over $250 for what was at most 15 minutes of work. With the part, the total cost of the repair was $320. That is outrageous to me. So, good work by the tech but poor value for the price and the fact that the appliance was only 2 years old. read more

I ordered a part online to be delivered to my home. I paid $36 for 2-day shipping. The day it was suppose to be delivered came and went. Finally tracking information showed up in my email that it would be delivered ten days after I ordered it. Sears never contacted me to let me know that there was any issue with shipping. I had to call them to find out what was going on and request a refund for all the shipping costs. In the end, they only ended up refunding me for the difference between normal shipping and the two-day shipping. No wonder Amazon is putting them out of business. read more

I scheduled a repair for my freezer. Not an emergency but I wanted it fixed in the next 3-4 days. The scheduled repair was for 1:00 to 5:00. At 4:45 I got a call from the repair tech telling me that he couldn't make it and I needed to schedule a new service call. In the meantime I noticed that a refrigerator that sits next to the freezer needs to have a door seal replaced. I called to reschedule the freezer repair and said I wanted the refrigerator fixed at the same time. When I scheduled the freezer repair I was told the charge would be $99 just to show up plus all parts and labor hours. When I said I wanted to add the door seal for the refrigerator, I would have to pay a second $99. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he told me the same thing but he did say that they would only charge be half of the second $99. I told Sears to go to Hell. read more

Don't know which sears appliance repair I was scheduled with but my order number was 816940085612, in case someone from Sears gives a hoot. Booked it days ago for a trash compactor that was full of trash and stuck in the compact position. Sears couldn't get out until Tuesday at the earliest. That was pushing it as I was unable to pull the compactor out and the last thing I tossed in there was raw chicken, but I wanted "Sears" to do the work. So I would wait for them. Today was the day, and I waited, and waited, and waited and finally got the call - Tech couldn't make it and I would need to reschedule. Oddly, I mentioned to a friend earlier that I was waiting for sears, and she said she stopped using Sears because they cancelled twice on her. She said Sears doesn't pay over time, so when the 8 hours end... so do the techs. I laughed and said they will be here. She was right, I was wrong. So..... Don't use sears. Totally worthless company. I contacted Sears to repair my broken fridge. The technician came out 2 days later and did an analysis. The technician said the evaporator had a leak and need to be replaced for $500. He ordered the part and said Sears would call me to schedule a new time. I received an email with a repair date 1 month after the technician came. I called Sears to complain and they rescheduled for 3 weeks out. The earliest date they could because the part was being shipped to my house via GROUND shipping. They couldn't be bothered to ship something with one-day shipping. I guess their customers aren't important enough to warrant the costs. The second technician finally showed up about 1 month after I first called and 3 weeks after the first technician. The second technician then told me that the Evaporator may have a leak but he's not sure and that we could have multiple leaks. He also told me the compressor was bad and needed to be replaced! Of course he didn't have a compressor in his truck so they would take ANOTHER 2 weeks to ship it to my home and it would be an additional $700. I told him to scram, no way am I spending $1,200 and 2 months with this company. To add insult to injury Sears is trying to force me to pay TWO dispatch charges! The first guy they sent was an idiot and didn't do his job right. The second guy they sent was pretty much kicked out of my house because Sears is a complete garbage service and couldn't provide a repair under a 2-month timeline. Worst customer service I have ever received. Ever. I scheduled an appointment to have my treadmill repaired. I gentleman came to my house smelling like a cigarette. He did not have bootie covers for his shoes to protect my carpets and his "repair" bag was smaller than my purse. Within 10 seconds he stated that the treadmill needed a new motor, roller parts, and 2 screws. He asked if I still had the manual for the machine (which I did). He pointed to the 1-800 number and starred the 4 items I needed to order so that he could complete the repair. He charged me $95 and I paid it. The receipt listed the total cost of the repair and they would respect that cost for the next 30 days. I called the 1-800 number and ordered the parts for ~$140. I called Sears back a few days later to schedule the appointment to complete the repair. I was transferred 6 times to get to the appropriate department. They were unable to locate me by my name or address. They were able to locate me by my phone number but incorrectly called me "Miss Medina" (which is not my name). They stated that I "declined the repair" and now will need to pay half of the $95 diagnostic fee. I explained that I did not decline the repair but that their repair tech was unable to repair the treadmill because he did not have the material. I informed them that I ordered the materials and now would like to schedule the repair. They stated that "It makes no sense that you would order the materials; that's our job." I again explained the situation and her response was "I'm not calling you a liar but..." She stated that there was not enough information on the ticket to waive the $47.50 (1/2 the cost of the diagnostic fee). I explained that my name was incorrect. My address was incorrect. The information she was reading must also be incorrect. I asked to be transferred to a manager and she was reluctant. After multiple requests, she dropped my call. My husband and I called back on multiple occasions just to repeat the entire scenario mentioned above. When I asked to talk with a Supervisor, she put me on hold and then re-answered and introduced herself using a different name. She stated that the extra cost was "part of their policy" and could not be waived. I asked where that additional cost was on my ticket and she stated that it was not listed. I asked how I could be charged a fee without my knowledge and she stated that "the policy has been in effect for a long time" and that she "would not schedule my repair" if I was unwilling to pay the full amount. When I asked what my full amount would be, she stated "I don't have access to that information." I asked her to call someone that did and she said there was no one to call. She confirmed that their notes stated that my husband and I attempted to resolve this situation a total on 9 times within a few days. I attempted to call 4 more times using 4 different 1-800 numbers and "Aria" picked up every call but one. She introduced herself as an "agent," "an advisor," "a supervisor," and a "case manager." I could hardly understand her accent...or "John's" from the Philippines. Poor, poor Sears. What was once a respected American icon is now (as of 2005) managed by Kmart and their service reflects that. Never will I consider doing business with Sears again. read more

I hired Sears to repair my Craftsman lawn tractor, whose front wheels were out of alignment (toed out too much). The technician, Ian, quickly diagnosed the problem as a bent tie rod and was able to bend it back into shape. The tractor now steers well, and fixing the old rod saved buying a new one. On the negative side, he arrived very late: originally scheduled for 3-5 PM, but didn't arrive until about 5:30 (happily the web site keeps updating with the expected time window, and Ian called a couple of times to let me know how long it would be). I also thought it was expensive ($205 to come to my house and bend a rod back into shape). Overall I'm happy, though. read more

Transferred to Escalation dept. December 14, 2017 1. Technician drove up to the house and parked. James opened front door and waited for the Technician. Technician drove off without fixing the Range. This is not acceptable. 2. Service was rescheduled to Dec. 28 without any notification. 3. Called escalation dept to complain. Service was changed to Dec. 26. December 26, 2017 1. called this morning 10:30am to ask a simple question on a repair for my Kenmore Elite refrigerator model 596.76583600. I was immediately placed in a holding, even through the website says they are open until 10pm. No one answered in that holding pattern for 1 hr. 18 minutes. I called back. same holding pattern for another 33min. when someone on their end picked up the call and deliberately disconnected it. Called again on hold for over 2 hrs. someone now answers. I ask the woman is the model number I just supplied her servicable with freon? what..Is the model number I gave you self sealing? what..Can you add the coolant, Freon to this model without having to buy a new condenser and compressor? she understands cooling and asks, you want your refridgerator to be cooler. I said it is not cooling at all, I need coolant added. she asks is this a air conditioner. I said no, I told you its a kenmore refridgerator and gave you the model number. I asked where am I calling. She said the Philliapians. I asked can you please get a repair person on the phone who knows about this refridgerator. She put me on hold and no one ever came to the phone. I hung up after another hour on hold. Called back another hour on hold and a young man answer and it went pretty much the same way. What is coolant, what is freon? puts me on hold no one comes back to the phone. now 5:25 pm. Worthless. I will not ever buy Kenmore or sears products anymore if the number supplied for answers treats you like this. The repair technician was competent and professional but Sears customer "service" is HORRIBLE! My repair appointment was delayed 3 times, supposedly because the technician was delayed on a prior appointment. After the 3rd delay, I contacted customer "service" for help. They were able to find a different technician to handle my repair and promised a $50 gift certificate would be e-mailed to me within 3 days. That all sounded good, except the $50 gift certificate part was an outright lie by the customer "service" representative. After 9 days had passed and no gift certificate, I called customer "service" to follow-up. Not only was there no record of the gift certificate order in my record, the second customer "service" representative told me there was no way another representative would have promised me anything like that. So, if you like being inconvenienced and straight-up lied to, Sears is the place for you. If, on the other hand, you're a regular person who just wants to be treated well, I suggest you consider another source for your repair needs. read more

Paid for priority shipping to get a part delivered quickly when I needed it. I ordered the part through this organization, even though it cost more than other online sources, because I've shopped at Sears before and I assumed that meant something. On the day that the part was supposed to arrive I received an email indicating that it had been BACKORDERED, with no indicated date for arrival. It's not possible to cancel the order online so I had to call to cancel it. I could hardly understand the person on the phone and I had little confidence that they would handle the refund correctly. They didn't even ask or confirm what I ordered but assured me that the order would be cancelled. Unbelievable. I should have checked other reviews before ordering. Of course, they didn't bother to cancel my order. Luckily, I assumed this would happen, so I didn't order another item from anywhere else. Within 6 years I had 3 1-year service agreements. The washer dryer unit broke 6 times during these periods. It was serviced but then something else happened. Because of this frequency, I wondered if the servicemen added problems. But if I were to have 3 service calls in 1 year they would replace the unit. I had only 2 per year. My service plan price was increased to $275/year because they said this stackable was 2 appliances now. That money could go toward a more reliable unit and skip these expensive but not reliable fixes that were really a pain in the butt. read more

If I could, I'd give this particular contact with sears service/repair a BIG FAT ZERO!!! Our refrigerator/freezer quit freezing so I called for a repair. This was on January 25, 2021. They gave me an "emergency" appointment that was 3 weeks out. When the tech came out February 15, 2021, turned out the compressor was shot. It took him 4 hours to change it out and some other part that was broken/locked up (?). Told us it might take 24 hours to reach proper temperatures in both fridge and freezer. Well next day neither were cold and all my food in the fridge only, because i'd already lost all the freezer food in the previous 3 weeks waiting for service, was warm. I called sears again to get someone back out immediately. Their response was we can get you an emergency appointment next Tuesday, February 23, 2021 (8 days more of no fridge or freezer!!! And when I told them now my food is all going to spoil their reply was "well we do offer a food replacement for your spoiled food". So now we wait until this coming Tuesday February 23, 2021, and hope and pray that they actually fix it. I also have very very expensive ($1800) medication for my youngest to treat her CF that MUST be kept refrigerated. I'm so ticked off that THIS is "emergency" appointments at their finest! If I didn't have the Master Service Plan, I know I could get someone out to my home the same day or within 24 hours to fix this. Our Fridge has a manufactured date of 3/2016, was purchased 7/2016 and now is broken! We called Sears Home Service and get a Technician 2 weeks ago who diagnosed the issue but refused to fix it. He stated in his service notes that "customer service" read to me that he did NOT want to fix our fridge. The issue was a bad compressor so sears shipped a new one to us. The same Tech showed up to install the new compressor and was very antisocial and rude. The fridge worked for 3 days and failed again, the SAME Tech came out again and said there was a clogged line and supposedly fixed it. Our fridge is still broken our food has begun to spoil. I talked to "customer service" yesterday about our problems and was told a new Sr.Tech would be out today (2/16/17) however when the confirmation email was sent it was scheduled for Monday (2/20/17). We have also been told that even thought this is an emergence repair that they just can't get a Tech out here until next week. We have been without a working fridge going on 4 weeks now and they don't seem to care if it gets fixed (before the warranty is void) or that we are having to throw away food. It began when the "CHAT". Agent set up appointment for Nov. 17th and the repairman didn't show up. I then called and Sears said the appointment was for the "next" day, Nov. 18th, but that the original appointment was "set" for Nov. 29th.. Okay, the "next" day came and repairman came to give me an estimate for the repair and the part which I paid by check, which was $260.00 He did not even touch the range top and the charge to "look" at it was $89.00 not refundable. A ceramic burner part was ordered. The repairman did not come at the time set by Sears for Nov. 18 th between 1 pm and 5 pm. I called and the agent said he was on the way. I again called at 5 pm and again the agent said he was on the way and that he would call me when he was close. The repairman never called but did finally show up around an hour later. He found that the part would not work in my range top and would have to order another part to make the burner work properly and the cost would be another $183.00. I said forget it and he packed up the part to leave. I asked for a receipt for the part he was transporting back to Sears. He was Russian and I could not understand him clearly. I asked again for a receipt and he said "no receipt, no receipt". He did say to call Sears the following business day which was Monday. I called and a lady named Sandra did track down the part. She said she would send the request over to another department. Then on Dec. 12th I heard from a lady named Leann saying that she would send me a check for $171.00 in about 10 business days. (the difference between my check amount of $260.00 after the $89.00 nonrefundable amount was deducted for the service call). As of today, Dec 21st I have not received the check. (21 days after the original request for service). Tomorrow, Thursday Dec 22nd, will be the 10th business day. One thing you can be certain of is that I will never call Sears or buy a Sears product again. That's a shame too because I own 3 Kenmore appliances and will soon need a new freezer as well as a replacement stove for the one you were not able to repair. Also, you can be certain that my friends who have Kenmore appliances will hear about my problem with your company. As for the range top that is broken, I will just buy a new stove next year if I can afford it then to replace this one and of course you know it will not come from Sears. Right? Sears charged me $350 labor for 45 minutes of work in addition to parts and diagnostic. The company tried to hold me hostage to mandate that I buy a service plan in order to not get RAPED in labor cost. The tech was knowledgable about the repair, but re-scheduling to get parts was difficult at best. Communication was horrible. I stopped showing a Sears because the customer service went to shit. The tech fixed the problem within a couple of hours and we continue to now have a working icemaker. Just bought a $2500 Kenmore Elite Refrigerator from the Southglenn store . The Purchase wasn't the issue, they have no problem taking your money, in fact the sales guy named Joe was very helpful. The problem was the delivery. We schedule it for the following Thursday, I take off from work they show up on time and delivery guy promptly tells me new fridge (he never took it out of the box) won't fit under our cabinet. I found this hard to believe but he was adamant about it so based on his statements I refused delivery and immediately went back to the store to buy another fridge. The new saleswoman (also very helpful) showed me it would indeed fit and we tried to recall the truck and get them back to deliver. Of course that ship had sailed and they had no intention of coming back, and I needed to reschedule another delivery date. I called the shipping manager Neil who seemed at least empathetic and set up a delivery for that Saturday. I was traveling but my wife was home so we booked it. The new crew showed up and again didn't want to bring it in saying it wouldn't fit (must be their way of getting out of moving large appliances). My wife insisted they bring it in an miraculously it fit just fine. Of course they didn't level or adjust the doors. So I call them back and it's another week out before they can get here. My point here is once they make the sale they could care a less about customer service. I called the salesman Joe back to voice my displeasure and he couldn't get me off the phone soon enough. You would think with all these huge retailers failing left and right they would figure out that repeat business is what keeps them in business. I think that I will never use Sears Repair again. The tech was scheduled 8am-12 and showed up right at 1pm. Really, they cannot call the day before and say " I am overbooked, I have 3 people ahead of you, and will be around noon or 1pm"? That should not be so hard and I could have been at work for 3 hours. He replaced the pump in the washer, so it works, but he also left a lot of water under my washer, that must have come out of the washer in the process. He moved my dryer closer to to the washer (maybe so I do not see the water on the floor?) and ripped the linoleum under the dryer. I will never buy a service agreement from Sears again. I called for our annual visit on our Master Protection Agreement, and the repairman that came did something to the fridge so that the door no longer seals. I called the day after he was here as soon as I discovered it, and it took a week and a half to get someone else out. That person lied to me and told me a part was being ordered and that I would be called back for setting up an appointment for the repair to be done. That was 2 weeks ago. No part has come. I was on the phone today for over an hour and a half, and nothing even went in my record notes about a part being needed. Sears is denying responsibility, and they are not sending someone to look at it for another week. So it will be over a month without a fridge door that closes properly, and they will likely end up trying to charge me hundreds of dollars to repair something they broke in the first place because in the meantime our protection agreement has expired. read more

The service we received was unsatisfactory. Not only did they not repair our Kenmore washing machine properly after 3 separate appointments, we had to wait 10 days between calls before we could get on their schedule. Our initial call was made on May 4th and as of 7/21 the machine is still not working. The so called Customer Service line was frustrating as well. I spent 77 minutes on one call, only to have the representative tell me that she would need to look into some things and would call me back....she never did, so I had to start the process over. So now I have a 5 year old machine that doesn't work, a warranty that does me no good and hours of missed work and frustration. My only options at this point are to call another appliance repair service and pay for another company to fix it after I already paid Sears for the service or buy a new washer. Either way I'm out additional money and Sears pockets the money they received for the Protection Agreement I purchased...NICE. Sears Appliance Repair doesn't keep their appointments! I booked them to check out my refridgerator on May 18; first available date was May 27th with a 1-5:00 pm window. They didn't show! I had to call them. First they claimed that I had cancelled then they said they didn't have any available technicians. I was told the next available date was June 11th. I argued with them and was told that I could have an appointment June 3rd, with an 8-12:00 window. I asked for the 8:00 time and they said that they would do that since they missed the first appointment. June 3rd arrives and I get a 9:00 phone call from Sears saying that they don't have enough technicians and they can reschedule for June 14th. I said no! They then said they had an appointment for June 4th with a 10-2:00 window. I said I couldn't do it. I called Columbine appliance and they will be here tomorrow!!!
