My technician was competent & efficient. Upon completion, I paid the total bill of $ 294 per CC (plus cash tip) in exchange for an itemized receipt. My problem started when I surprisingly received an additional invoice for $ 50 for an appliance "I do not even own". Three emails later to the contacted (recommended) "nschelp@transformco.com" requesting an explanation & further details for said "repair in question", remained unanswered & instead a "collection agency" now sent another $ 50 demand. Upon calling them, they were "going to review it" ... I am "holding my breath". What happened to SEARS? There are a bunch of lousy reviews regarding their customer service and quality of repairs, so to add mine to the mix would just be repetitive. But when I tried to cancel the contract last August of 2023, I was told that I would have to pay the $79 per month auto fee until the contract year ended in March 3 of 2024. So, I told them to not renew my coverage after that date, and they told me it was too early to cancel for that year. After involuntarily paying around $500 of automatic fees I was extra cautious about cancelling the contract during an acceptable window so that the contract wouldn't automatically roll over again. I called again today (Jan 17, 2024) to cancel for the year beginning March 4, 2024 and at the end of the conversation, asked the gentleman to please send me an e-mail confirming that I had cancelled. He said that it was against company policy (?) to do it before the last day of the contract year and none of my requests or arguments could convince him otherwise. So there will be no proof that I cancelled until it is basically too late and I have to start paying auto payments again. Seems like a scam to me. read more

We had an appointment to get our refrigerator repaired today from 1:00-5:00. At 4:50 I contacted customer service for a status update. They said the tech would arrive at 6:30. Then at 5:00 I got a text that he was on his way. No ETA was given. At 5:10 I got another text that he had missed us and rescheduled us two weeks from now. We never got a text that he was here. I immediately contacted customer service and was told the tech left the area and could not return. Clearly this guy did not want to work beyond 5:00. What a waste of time. I waited ten days for this appointment. I would have my refrigerator repaired if I had gone with a more reputable company. Read the reviews before you book with them. I wish I had. read more

I scheduled an appointment to repair a GE washer. After some research online I was sure what the problem was. The Tech came out and confirmed that it was the main control board. I went ahead and paid for the part and repair in advance 516.08. After a few days i was told that the part was on back order and would be several weeks before the part could be shipped. I went online found the OEM part available within a day or 2 and ordered the part from the other source. i cancelled the service and part order with Sears and requested a refund. I called several time and was told the refund was processed and it was my banks fault. Finally had to dispute charge wit my Bank. Trying to actually talk to someone is a challenge of the nth degree. When you do get to talk to someone thier accent is so bad you have a hard time understanding them. They just give you non info and hang up. Avoid this company like the plague. read more

We use a Home Warranty Service that subcontracts with Sears Home Services (SHS) to complete the repairs. Twice now a claim was assigned to SHS, with the technician coming to diagnose the problem, collect the warranty fee, and said he had to order parts. Once for our refrigerator, then for a gas leak from our gas cook top. We hadn't heard anything about the refrigerator repair for weeks after the technician left, and apparently the repair order was cancelled by SHS (not our warranty company). Eventually the refrigerator "repair" was rescheduled, the part arrived and was installed, but the problem was not fixed. We eventually gave up on getting that issue resolved. We're still waiting on the gas leak repair. Like others, we have heard nothing from SHS since the technician came to diagnose the problem, said he had to order parts, then disappeared. The SHS website shows the claim has been cancelled, so we're working through the Warranty company to get the issue resolved. Perhaps SHS should be cancelled, rather than just the claim. If a fire/explosion happens because they did not repair the gas leak, a lawsuit will inevitably follow. read more

This service is not worth the money. I've been trying to get a covered dishwasher fixed for 2 months now. I've been told they are waiting on parts. Every time I call I reach someone who tells me they can help, but my dishwasher is still broken. The wait times are ridiculous and when they do answer I'm forwarded yet again to someone who promises to help. I cannot reach someone who can make a decision. This service agreement is worthless. Our LG dryer stopped working on 9/29/23. It was about 3.5 years old (warranties expired after 3 years - separate frustration). I requested service from LG directly. LG coordinated with Sears Home Services appliance repair in our area with an appointment scheduled for 10/2/23. 1) The morning of 10/2/23, I received a call that the appointment had been cancelled and rescheduled for 10/4/23. 2) On 10/4/23, the service tech arrived and replaced a fuse, which allowed the dryer to start back up. My husband had taken off work for the appointment and did a load of laundry when the dryer stopped working again with the same issue. I called the tech back - He thought then that it was likely a motor issue and to schedule another service appointment. 3) Service appointment #2 was scheduled for 10/7/23. This tech essentially "hot wired" the dryer to get it running and see what the issue might be because it would not start. My husband explained that the first technician thought it was a motor problem. The technician ordered parts, and we had to wait another week for them to arrive from an off-site warehouse (shipped to our home). 4) Service appointment #3 was on 10/14/23 with the same technician as the first visit. The technician indicated that the wrong parts were ordered, did not include a new motor and additional parts would need to be ordered (again from an off-site warehouse with a week lead time). At this point, my husband and I decided to decline any additional service. We gave the parts back to the technician, and I called Sears Home Services to request a cancellation of service and refund for the original parts we had paid for, which did not actually fix anything (approx $200). Realizing we would have to eat the cost of the first service appointment trip/diagnostic charge, we still wanted a refund for the parts and subsequent time wasted. 5) We called Sears Home Services back on 10/26/23 to inquire about the refund and learned it had never been processed. As of 11/5/23, we are still waiting for the refund, which can take 14-21 days to process (or so we were told). Overall, we're very disappointed that LG referred us to Sears Home Services appliance repair in the first place and that we received a total run-around from the technicians and process in general. read more

Don't sign up for this! We signed up for this service in July. In March, we experienced 2 minor appliance issues and requested services. Sears is unable to send out anyone or provide any service at all. After 2 months we cancelled our contract and were charged a 3 month cancellation fee. What a terrible experience. read more

He placed a service call to them on 10/7 because the freezer on his Kenmore side by side quit working. They came out on 10/25 and diagnosed that the thermostat in the freezer went bad. He paid $599.31 to have it replaced. A day later he noticed water all over the floor. He opened the freezer and everything in it had thawed out. He called back on 10/26 and informed them of the issue. The earliest they could get a tech out was middle of November. Approaching that appointment they called and informed him they had to reschedule until 11/24. Tech came out on 11/24 and advised the wrong thermostat was installed. Had to order him another one. Would be back on 12/8. My father then receives a bill for $474 for services on 11/24. No phone number for a billing department. Only an email. An email is sent to the billing department on 12/1 asking why he was billed when he already paid for services and they put the wrong part in. On 12/7, tech by the name of Mike calls and says he needs payment up front. Not sure why they would need payment. My father told him to just come out. Mike showed up with an attitude, opened the freezer and says what the hell is the problem? My dad explains every that has happened. Tech Mike says, the freezer is running, so is the fridge. Thermostat is not your problem. Tech Mike refuses to look at it without payment. Tried to take the part my father already paid for. My dad tells him to leave the part. Tech Mike slams it on the counter demands payment again. My father refuses. Tech Mike leaves. Another bill comes through for $576 for services on 12/8. My father is so upset and on the verge of a heart attack because all he gets is people talking in circles. I attempt to call. Calls are disconnected, multiple numbers on the internet are no longer in service. After 23 different numbers I finally get Frances from India on the phone. He reviews the order and says, I see he paid $599 on 10/25. That is correct. He has an outstanding balance of $1050. I ask for what. I am told for services. I remind him that those services were not necessary if they properly repaired it to begin with. This is on them, not on my father. He opts to reschedule another tech. I told him that's fine, but I want to know about the bills, why they are being billed and better not bill for the next service. Frances then tells me balance is $1600. I said wait, you told me it was something else, how is it more. He has to pay for 10/25 service. I remind him that he verified at the beginning her had paid that in full. He now says it wasn't in full, there was a balance of $29.00. Framces says that i need to get a copy of my fathers credit card statement and provide proof of payment. I demand to speak to someone in billing. Frances says he can provide and email. I refuse. They never responded to the 12/1 email. I tell him again I want a phone number for the billing department. Frances says billing department does not have a phone number. Only an email. I ask to speak to a supervisor. He refuses. We will be contacting the state attorney's General office and news. If we have to, will be filing suit and Sears and their CEO for deceptive practices. read more

STAY AWAY...Synopsis: Sears came to replace a felt dryer drum seal. Easy job. Technician fried some electronics in the process. Admitted fault, stated they would fix. DAY 40... Update #5. Unbelievable. Text at 4:40 saying he's on way then he calls at 5:05PM and says he won't make it because his seasonal allergies are flaring up. Can't come until next week. That will be 47 days after the first technician fried the electronics. Update #4. Phone rep revealed today that AE is affiliated with Sears who still, 5 weeks later, has not repaired the dryer that THEY BROKE. Been waiting all day, no show AGAIN. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I don't know what the business model is but it seems like a mess, nobody in charge. Continue to get the runaround is from sears customer "service". No tech in sight to fix the dryer their tech fried. Update #3. Sears was scheduled to return today but did not show up. NO CALL. We waited. All day. Finally got through to someone but were told the service truck broke down. Stated next available appointment is in a week. On our way to BUY a new dryer to replace the one that SEARS BROKE. Worst experience ever. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, TOTALLY INCOMPETENT...Update #2. I received an email that another service call was scheduled despite the fact that there were still no parts to my dryer that Sears broke. When I called back the customer service number, 800-479-6351, I was told that they need to schedule another appointment to confirm that the dryer they broke was actually broken and that they couldn't fix it before they replaced it with parts that they were unable to acquire.This would be an amusing circus if it were not for the fact that I have now been without a dryer for over three weeks. Scheduled a repair for February 14. Simple dryer felt drum seal replacement.During the repair the technician fried some electronics in the dryer and the basement filled with smoke smell. It has now been 2 1/2 weeks and our dryer has not been fixed. Repeated calls to Sears home services get us nowhere. We are told the part has been ordered. I can order a part from anywhere in the country and have it to my house the next day so their excuses are not reasonable.Beware, when you call Sears you get a national call center somewhere with people who do not care about your repairs. It is impossible to speak to a supervisor and impossible to talk to somebody who actually has the authority to fix your problem. The last time I called I was transferred three times and ultimately ended up not speaking to somebody who only spoke Spanish. I finally connected with something called an escalation team that was really just another part of a big circular phone ring. I was told a supervisor would call me back but of course that has not happened.Do not use this appliance repair service. Call someone local. We paid the $89 service fee, and then the tech asked for a tip. When I handed him a $5, he said that was not enough. I pulled out a $10, and he said "don't you have a $20? My answer was no. I have a home warranty with Select Home Warranty which subcontracts with Sears. I thought I had made a wise choice to purchase two home warranties with two houses that I own. Anyway, I put in my first trouble ticket to fix an issue with my washer machine. I took off of work since my scheduled appointment was 7:00 am. At 9:00 am, the technician was still a no show so I contacted both companies and they told me the technician was running behind so I patiently waited. At 3:30 pm, the technician responded via text saying I wasn't home and sorry I missed them; however, this technician went to the wrong house. I contacted them right away to let him know he went to the wrong address and he can still service my washing machine. Do you know they told me that I have to reschedule for another day instead of making an attempt to notify the technician to come back since it was his fault he didn't go to the correct address in the first place? Not good when a customer notices right away, I tried to even add a note to the order notifying the technician of his error and he could still come to the correct address. We had already waited a whole week without a washer. So I tried to reschedule and it would be another week out. I believe the technician had two many tickets that day to cover. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON SEARS AND THEIR "WARRANTY" I'll start off by saying that my technician this last visit was very helpful and my score does not reflect him at all. My problem is with this entire department. I've been without a washer for 2 months now. we were told the part was ordered, then a technician never showed for the install appointment a week later, we called them only to find out the parts been back ordered and we are told to call in a week to see if it's available and if not to request a new washer. We call a week later and were told we need to call on a Monday to start the request. So we call Monday and were told to call in another week to see if were approved. We call a week later to find we are approved for a replacement, they're just locating a washer and will call us when they locate one. Another week passes and no call, so we call again and they tell me they couldn't get ahold of the shopping department to find out if they had located a new washer or not and that they'll call us by the end of the day. Surprise, they don't call. So we call the following Monday and they tell us they haven't located a washer yet and to give them until the end of the week to call us. Friday comes, no call. So we call them and they tell us the repair ticket was closed! They then send out another technician to our house who says he has to order the part. The following day another technician came and said the part was never ordered. After listening to what we've been through, He called the department from our house to verify the part was not back ordered and to order it. The technician was the only helpful person the entire time and hopefully the part actually arrives at my house by Saturday, which is when the technician is scheduled to come back. read more

Our washer broke and we chose this service because they had next day appointment. However, their technician never showed up, the company never told us about it, never got in touch with us to tell us what happened or to remedy the situtian. Trying to get in touch with them is another story -- there is no phone number to call, you have to use text to get help, and I hate it because it takes so much more time. I contacted them the following morning and was told that there was a truck breakdown, and and that next available appointment is almost a week away, and they acted like this was normal and ok, somehow before this they had same day appointments, and now suddenly I have to wait a whole week?! I had an appointment scheduled. I received an email several days before my appointment to give me an 8-hour window of time. The technician came out earlier than I anticipated and I missed him by no more than 5 minutes. Once my neighbor told me she saw the Sears vehicle pull off right before I went into my house, I checked my email where I saw a "we missed you" email that included and adjusted window of time to an earlier time. I called every number provided but they are were prompts. I took me an hour to find number where I got actual live people, and I could barely understand what any of them were saying to me. I simply wanted a message to go out to the technician to ask him to come back. In all them time that it took me to get a live person, I am sure that he is on his way to other appointments. I have already been waiting over a week for someone to come out. Now I guess I have to wait even longer. I do not ever want to do business with these guys again. read more

I agree with many of the bad reviews here. My refrigerator wasn't cooling fully. I was told in advance that a diagnostic fee would be $99 and be included in the repair cost. The technician came out on time and said that either I needed a $500 replacement part, or he could do a $250 temporary fix that mainly involved cleaning the panel covering the compressor. He said the temporary fix might only last a month, however the temporary fix did nothing. The tech also tried very hard to sell me on the Sears Home Warranty plan, that he said was only $50. I asked if that was a one-time cost or annual, and he said annual. He said I should get the warranty plan and say the refrigerator was working properly and then call back in a month to have the repair done under warranty at no charge, then cancel the warranty. He pushed very hard to have me sign up for the warranty before he left. When I looked at the details online, it said that the plan was $50 per MONTH. This made no sense for my situation and also sounded like he was encouraging me to commit fraud so I declined the warranty. I noticed the fan still wasn't operating when he was leaving and he said that was because it was in defrost mode. The fan never ran again and it appears that this was the cause of the problem in the first place. The compressor is working fine and I don't see that the cleaning did anything useful. I contacted the company to have the repair fee refunded because the repair was unsuccessful. They refunded the money in about 2 weeks. I had a refrigerator repair done by Sears 15 years ago and was happy with the service but after this experience I would not use them again. read more

Scheduled through the website, so not sure if the service tech was coming from this location, but it is the closest to me. Scheduled washer repair service for Monday from 10a-2p. Also signed up for text updates. 2p comes and goes with no tech and no texts or calls. I called to check the appointment and it's been rescheduled for a 3p-5p arrival. I speak to an operator because this won't work. She's very apologetic and pleasant. Rescheduled for Thursday 10a-2p. Same thing happens! This time the time was extended from 3p-6p, but I'm able to wait it out. The tech is a no show and at 6:30p I call. This time their operator offers no apology, and pretty much tells me to take or leave an appointment for the following Tuesday. I say no thanks. Despite refusing to reschedule Sears has sent me an email everyday since Thursday (3 days now) and called to reschedule. I called a local company, GLS Pro, and got the repair done in 48hrs. Terrible experience with Sears. I'm sure the service departments aren't why the company is failing, but it sure can't help. I won't ever try to use them again. read more

Sears Home Services/A&E Factory Repair Services. Don't even think about using this service. I have waited two whole days for a scheduled dishwasher repair service from them and they have yet to arrive. Original date was yesterday, August, 16th , time slot 8 am to 5pm. Yesterday morning I received an update the technician would arrive approximately 11:20 am. My husband and both were home waiting, all our vehicles were parked in front of the house. I had gone upstairs to change clothes, coming back down when I noticed an A & E van heading down the street. I go to my email and see an update from them that the technician arrived (at 10:14) and no one was home (with a picture of my front door) and I would have to reschedule. I did not receive a phone call or text message that the tech was there, nor did I hear a knock or door bell ring. I immediately tried to call and after waiting over 10m minutes trying to get a voice on the line (only automated responses) I was finally able to get speak someone only after I pressed the key to place a new service call. I explained what happened and of course they could not work me back into the schedule for yesterday (even after speaking to no avail with a supervisor). I had to agreed to reschedule for today, August 17th again with a window of 8am to 5pm. I received an email confirming today's appointment last night but this morning I did not receive any timeframe update. So I waited here again, all day long and at 3:47 I received a text stating the tech was on his way. He was a no show. I did not receive a text stating he would not be showing up. I waited until after 5pm and when I tried again to raise someone on the phone, no luck. Just an automated message that my appointment was in the past and wanting to know if I wanted to reschedule. (Errrrrr) That will not happen. I will be cancelling and expect at a minimum a return of the money I had to pay upfront for the service call. On Feb 4, 2019, I purchased a lawn tractor from Sears. After less than 10 hours of use, it became unusable due to engine issues. ON 4/22/2019, I called Sears Home Services to schedule repair under warranty. The first available date was 5/6/2019 (14 days later). The technician arrive approximately 6pm, and ordered a new carburetor for the mower. He scheduled an additional appointment for 5/23/2019 (16 days later). On 5/23/2019, a service tech arrived to install the parts. He left without any further conversation with us - we were not informed whether repairs were complete, or if the mower even worked or not. Today was our first opportunity to test the mower. It runs, but is completely unusable due to running extremely poorly. I once again called Sears Home Services, and was given a date of 6/10/2019 (13 days) for the service call. I asked to be assisted by a supervisor, and was summarily told there was no way they could accelerate the schedule. IF the repair resulted in the mower being usable at the next date, it will have been out of service for over 43 days. However, I have little faith that your technicians will properly do the job. To say that I'm not happy is certainly an understatement. Honestly, I don't want to have to pay a local shop to repair a product that is in warranty, but I also can't spend months waiting on parts or service calls, much less the entire days of sitting home waiting on an indefinite time for a service call. read more

He said the carburetor needs changing but the shop fixed it by cleaning it within an hour for a fraction of the service call that cost about $100. We have had 3 Tecs coming to fix our washer , because the stop button did not work . Last Tec on Mach 22 changed the digital board and did not work . Then he installed "mother board" and still did not work . Knowing it was not working he left , gave us his on cel number ,but never answered . We called Sears service number and after multiple calls , they finally gave us appointment for March 25th . It means I have to sit home, another full day , miss work , and hope they come as promised and washer gets fixed . All that means , I have not been able to wash cloths for 4 weeks . We should have read the reviews from customers before calling sears to do a repair on our washing machine. The quickly came within 2 days of calling them to attempt to do our repair. The repair man did a few things to our washer but did not stay to make sure it was working properly. Before he left, we asked if he fixed it. He stated "I am confident that I fixed the problem." They charged our card $270.95. We began using the washer within a few hours. It began to do the same thing it did before the repair man came. He never fixed it! It wasn't even 12 hours. We called sears the same day and told them what happened. They told us we would have to pay an additional $90 fee for them to come back out and then pay for what ever parts and labor they would need. We were told to wait 21 business days for sear to determine if we could have refund. We waited 4 weeks before we called. The denied the refund. We explained and requested again and waited another 2 weeks. They still denied but kept saying we can pay them to have them come and fix it again. I know we won't get our money back at this point but felt it important to let all people interested in using them know the truth about the served you are getting. When I called I was told that the part shipped and was delivered. After DAILY calls and chats, I finally found out that the part was back ordered and they would have to order from another vendor. One month later, I received the 2nd part and the tech Richard pulled a no show. After that, guess what? It was a "bad part"! Now, a week later, I have the re-ordered parts and can't get someone to install them!!!!!!!!! Never ever again will I use Sears. I own a rental property, I purchase my appliances through Sears with the 5 year protection program so if something breaks down it can get fixed ASAP. Bosch dishwasher stopped working after 2 years, first repair apt 10/1 they order parts two no show appointments later they come back on 12/3 it was the wrong part they ordered and this technician doesn't think he can fix it, calls the office to see about a replacement and is told no. Next appointment 12/18 still don't have the right part different repair guy also thinks the unit needs replaced, he called the office and was told no as well. Next appointment set for 12/29. My tenant spent over 15 hrs (2-3 hrs each time) on hold with customer service. I have spent over 10 hrs holding for customer service. This is ridiculous! Put money into a savings account instead of this. Used them 3 times. First was a good experience. Second and third were such a headache. Stove fix couldn't be done, so a replacement was necessary. sears told us that the repair company had the replacement, repair subcontractor told us differently. it was a lot of back and forth for many days. The replacement came at 7:30am with no notice of arrival. it was good I hadn't left for work yet. Now, I'm dealing with a fridge repair. They scheduled us with a local repair company but never confirmed their availability. So, there was a no show and havent been able to get Sears on the phone for 4 days now. Called the local repair shop they assigned and had to schedule with them personally. Sears advertises they are available 24/7. sure, if you don't mind talking to a computer. Getting a person or reporting an issue with service doesn't exist. Save your mone! read more

Please do not ignore the reviews!!!!! I had three service appointments with this company. The first strike was in August 2020. The technician came to the house and informed us that the refrigerator should have been plugged in for at least 24 hours. This was never told to us prior to the appointment. Second strike, another technician came on September 2nd, 2020. He claimed he fixed the refrigerator. It is still not fully cooling, with the freezer not freezing at all. The third strike was today on September 17th, 2020. The technician called my phone and I was unable to pick up since I am a professional in the operating room. He never pressed the bell. He claimed no one was home, which is absolutely false. At least 3 adults were home. I have been without a fully functioning refrigerator for months now. Shame on this incompetent, unprofessional company. read more

I would "give" NO STARS if I could... Unfortunately, I was stupid enough to buy a dryer from Sears just this past April and something told me to get the Warranty/Service plan which was $300, but now I'm not sure what was the bigger mistake... buying the type of Kenmore piece of shit dryer I got or paying that much more for Sears "service"! FIRST - It takes over a week for a technician to even come out to see what the issue is. You're lucky if they can actually fix it without needing to order some sort of part, but if you're an unlucky sap... SECOND - It takes at least another week (in my case week and a half) for the parts needed to be order and for a technician to be back in the area to actually DO the repair. THIRD - When you call the 800 service line, they are all so clueless so they don't quite understand how from a service perspective 3 weeks to be without a dryer, after it was already repaired for the same issue 2 weeks prior (and after having to wait another 3 weeks), is a problem! Am I completely missing something?!?! Do yourself a favor... DON'T buy from Sears (there's a reason there aren't very many around anymore), DON'T buy the warranty/service plan (I have a feeling the service time for those that aren't paying for each individual service is a lot longer), and DON'T EVER consider using Sears for any type of repair/service because your money is going to some big business that clearly isn't about the customer! read more
