Going in, we knew that good communication skills would be critical, since we were already living 1,000 miles away. Dawn impressed us here from our very first meeting, when she took detailed notes of our discussion, and later the same day, wrote up and sent us those notes, completely unprompted. She maintained this high level of communication all the way through the close of escrow. The house needed some repairs prior to going on the market. Because we were far away, Dawn handled finding contractors, getting bids and scheduling the work -- as well as coordinating the painters, house cleaners and stager. It was surely like herding cats at times, but Dawn handled it with grace and skill. We were lucky enough to get multiple offers on the house. Instead of just forwarding the offers and letting us sift through them, Dawn spent considerable time preparing a spreadsheet to compare the relevant aspects of each offer. This made it much easier to evaluate the offers and make a decision. Once we were in contract, the deal hit a number of bumps -- through no fault of Dawn's; the buyer's lender was a bit of a nightmare. Then, right before closing, the buyer's lender threw another ridiculous monkey wrench into the deal, which could've made the entire thing fall apart. As it happened, the house had already sold, but she was so helpful on the phone that we asked her to be our real estate agent while we searched for a house on Bainbridge Island.
