To be honest, my husband and I went on St. Patrick's evening, so we weren't expecting the best. We reserved a table and were seated promptly. Waited quite a while for our first Guinness. Because of this, we ordered another one as soon as the first arrived expecting another wait. At this time we also ordered an appetizer. Approximately two minutes later our second beer arrived and then the Irish nachos, which were very good but we had two beers in front of us. We weren't halfway finished with our appetizer before our entree showed up. I don't know how other people handle this but, it's not the best situation to have everything arrive at once. We ended up here after looking for a place that was still serving food at 10pm on a Sunday, and it was a lucky find! I think based on other yelp reviews that the menu may have recently been updated or a new chef joined, because our food was delicious and fresh. The ponzu wings were crispy and full of flavor, potato skins full of different melty cheese with crunchy skins, and while a club sandwich and tater tots are easy to prepare we appreciated the double layer of crisp bacon and pepper mayo. read more

We started going to Sean Ryan's last fall, often with a large group of friends. We have gone from thinking of this as one of our favorite places in Vero Beach that we visited at least once a week to not ever going back. Although the quality of the food has seriously declined since last fall, that is not the biggest reason we will not return On a couple of occasions we had a difficult time with a man we believed to be a waiter named Sean. (We have since been informed he is a manager.) He was rude, generally disrespectful and has no concept of customer service. We kept going and just tried to avoid him. That worked for a while. Then one night he went over the top. He had an explosive response to a basic question. ( We asked if there were going to be any desert specials) We spoke with the owner ( we found out later it was his mother). She apologized and assured us if we gave them another chance this would not happen again. We did and again just tried to avoid him. We recently had another very bad experience with Sean. His explosive outburst was beyond rude this time. My friends and I were just astounded at the things he said to us. We will not return. When we go out we want good food and reasonable service. We are not looking to be insulted , challenged or treated poorly with no provocation. We are so very disappointed. read more

Not what I was expecting based on the advertising I seen on this place. I don't usually write reviews unless the place is really good or really bad. Really bad in this case. Went there on a Saturday night to have dinner and watch some NFL playoffs. Seen advertising that they have NFL package and they seemed to be trying to claim to be a sports bar. When we were seated there was only one TV with the one football game in view for me and none in view for my wife. There were all college basketball game on. It seemed like no one even knew it was NFL playoff weekend. Anyway we asked to have one of the TVs changed to the game so my wife could watch and they took care of that. I also picked this place because I thought it would be cool to go out for some Irish food. You know comfort food like beef stew, stuffed cabbage etc. I decided to have the beef stew pot pie expecting a nice mix of beef, potatoes and vegetables. What I got was a small ceramic bowl that was half full with small chucks of beef, potatoes that were barely noticeable and some carrots. It was so none descriptive that I felt I could have gotten something better in the freezer isle. Thankfully my wife offered me some of her prime rib otherwise I would have gone hungry. I thought about complaining to the waitress but I didn't want to wait for another meal to be cooked as this meal took longer than normal. Overall a pretty bad experience. You would think that a Irish restaurant would at least try and make their Irish meals, that are not typical of other restaurants, a staple and kind of over do it to make their Irish statement. This meal would embarrass any Irish person believe me. On a positive note, the waitress was very polite and the bar was big and seemed like a good scene. read more

Then the chicken tenders ordered for my son who just got braces - well subpar to say the least. They were Overcooked! The batter was black. We called the manager over. He ARGUED with us about the Raw chicken. He blamed the Black on the chicken tenders as seasoning when clearly the OIL NEEDED CHANGING. We then ordered a replacement meal for my son - burger without the bun. WE RECEIVED A BURGER CUT IN HALF? WHAT??? and finally when we were paying we asked the waitress if she was going to have trouble getting her tip from the cc purchase....she says she wouldn't see it for two weeks. Visited while on vacation in Vero Beach and really enjoyed the food. Sean waited on us and extremely friendly and helpful when selecting what to select off the menu as they had many great sounding items. I ended up getting the special Blackened Mahi and it was outstanding. My wife got the Shaved Prime Rib sandwich and it was equally good. If you like homemade chips with a little spice, I would recommend those also instead of fries. The other items on the menu were definitely Irish and sounded great. read more

Service was terrible! Our server acted put out, never got our order right, we had to continually ask for things. When our drink spilled we had to clean it up ourselves and then go up to the bar to get more napkins and ask for a refill. There were only 3 tables with customers so they weren't busy. Okay, people, it's been a while since I have been so excited about a meal but please go check this place out! Chris Budlong is the Chef and he is simply amazing! I had his version of surf and turf tonight and it was so delicious! Hanger steak, cooked to perfection, with scallops, asparagus and red potatoes. Each and every item on the plate stood on its own and exploded with flavor! Even the presentation made me smile because I hate it when someone assumes I want my food mixed together - I don't! I followed my meal with coffee, bread pudding (the house specialty) and Grand Marnier. Oops, no Grand Marnier - so I settled for a shot of Cointreau. We came in to listen to their music and have a drink. They were having a pretty busy evening, and the music started at 7 PM, it was now about 8 PM. I was impressed with their beer selection on draft, they went beyond the usual Guinness and had a few more Irish brews. But, my wife was wanting an Irish Coffee, I, watching my carb intake opted for Irish Whiskey. A great menu from which to choose. I opted for Teeling which I had not enjoyed for over a year, on the rocks. They gave a very good pour. We did not have dinner here tonight, but, I know that it will be happening soon. After multiple attempts to support this restaurant both as an individual and in a group I warn the public off this restaurant. When they first opened the my put a normal amount of meat/veg in their shepherds and beef pies. Now they are 85-95% gravy so you are paying $15-$16 for a chafing that contains mostly gravy with a pie crust. The service is frequently bad, having waited up to 30 minutes for food to be served or checks to be delivered even when there were very few customers. One of the bartenders is surly and does not listen. I saw one of the owners relatives get in a fight with another bartender. This pub is bad news! read more

I have been looking forward to trying Sean Ryan for sometime now after the opening. So today during Hibiscus festival I finally had the opportunity. I was sadly disappointed and I think we were among the first customers after the street fair has been open for 3 hours to be seated for service. Looking for a place where we could eat outside with a small dog, really wasn't expecting much, but wow I discovered one of the best meals I've had in a long time. I ordered the steak and scallops, it looked great and even tasted better! The sous chef who told us that they made the bourbon marinade for the steak last night visited our table. I would not recommend Sean Ryan Pub to anyone. WHY? Our party of four went there for the first time to have dinner. Had to wait for service and when server came around, we asked questions. The server provided the answer of the side items for the dinners ordered. Two of us ordered the pork chop dinners. When we received our meals the two pork chop dinners did not have the mashed potatoes as had been told by the server. The mashed potatoes had been replaced with bread stuffing. We asked the server why we did not get the mashed potatoes and the server told us he was wrong, but if we wanted mashed potatoes he would get them for us. We received the mashed potatoes in small bowls with an amount of probably two teaspoons each. However, the main complaint was that both pork chops where very raw / not cooked. The server took the pork chops back to be cooked. By the time we received the pork chops for the second time, the other two friends had finished eating their meals. We cut into our pork chops for a second time to find them still not thoroughly cooked. I asked the server to return mine to be cooked more. It was returned to me moments later by the Pub manager (SEAN) stating this is all we can do. He did not ask if I would like a different meal. He took my still totally uneaten plate of food, walked away and did not return. Once again, I would NOT recommend Sean Ryan Pub. Now I understand why the Pub was not very full with customers and all of the other restaurants on the street were full with waiting lines. read more

Tried to go today to watch the giants game and have some lunch. Had a great time the last time we went to watch a Giants game there. bartenders were great. Today they only had one tv showing the giants game and all seats were taken. I asked either the owner or manager, not sure, if we could watch the giants on another tv and he didn't help me out at all. The rest of the bar was practically empty and he could have easily changed one of the other TVs to the giants game. I should have asked the bartenders. They probably would have done it. The owner or manager must be a Patriots fan and we know they don't like Giants fans! Anyway my husband and I left and went to Riverside Cafe to watch. This new place needs some work. The food was fine however the service was pretty bad. It started when we arrived. We had made a reservation on line. There were several booths open and we asked for one. The hostess told us that we couldn't have a booth because we needed to have specified "booth". When we made the reservation. What? The manager was standing there and I asked him about it and he agreed with the hostess. That is ridiculous. At any rate we sat at a high top. Btw the booths sat empty the entire time we were there. The server was disinterested. We sat for a while missing menus and one of us had to remind him about her drink. I ordered bangers and mash which on the menu said it came with cabbage. When the meal came it had horrible limp green beans. I asked about the cabbage and the person bringing the food loudly whispered to our server to bring me a side of cabbage! When I got our bill I was charged for the side of cabbage! I asked the server about it and he was visibly frustrated with me and grabbed the bill and when he came back he threw it on our table. We all looked at each other in shock. Meanwhile the manager stood at the hostess stand the entire night. This could be an ok place but you really need to get the basics right. Great food and service. We were seated quickly by a pleasant hostess and the waitress was friendly and attentive. The food came out of the kitchen very quickly and was piping hot. For dessert we had triple chocolate cake and carrot cake that were both very yummy. Overall it was a great experience and we will be returning again. read more
