I paid $13,000 - for 8 trees and Derek had to be the most unfriendly, disrespectful and rude businessman I have ever met! The purpose of the tree removal was 2-fold. It was for safety around the home and also to provide LOTS of firewood! He knew this. He never introduced himself - I had to ask who was Derek when I went out to greet all the guys that showed up. Even once he raised his hand he still did not come over to me. I had to go to him and extend my hand to introduce myself. We had not met as this is my daughter & son-in-law's home. I came up from Virginia for this as I was the payor of the services, which he also knew. Derek started cutting the trees as we (my son in law & I were home) expected, including limbs of good size. Then things changed and we saw a number of pieces going into the chipper (easy for them as all they had to do with that was shoot them into the woods). I went out a total of 4 times to ask him to NOT chip those bigger limbs as they were such great pieces of firewood and even asked if they could just cut to pile or leave in on the ground by the tree. His answer repeatedly?: "IF IT FITS IN THE CHIPPER IT GOES IN THE CHIPPER!" Let me reiterate I was paying him $13,000!! I cannot begin to tell you how infuriating he was and what a great disappointment due the amount of firewood we lost due to his lack of giving a damn what the customer wanted. We did not have a very good exchange with him - he was very curt & argumentative when we asked questions. He stated several times that "He was the professional", not us. However while he was here, we did ask him to look at some additional trees on our property (evergreen-types) and some driveway work. He promised to get back to us with the estimates. He sent the estimate but did not include all the work we discussed. We tried contacting him several times but did not receive the information. Additionally, the estimate he provided for the evergreens was 78% higher than another tree service company (that we did end up hiring & they did a fantastic job). Our neighbor ended up contracting with Top-Notch to do their tree work. While Frank & his team were doing that work, they crossed onto our property & was cutting limbs off of our tree. We told him that the agreement with our neighbor was to cut just the limbs that overhung onto their property only (not the tree limbs that are on our property. Frank told us, he did not care & that he was not doing a half-axx job. He & his team kept challenging us & when we spoke to our neighbor, they could not get Frank to do what we agreed to. He said he was going to do the job he was paid for even though the tree did not belong to our neighbor! All in all, it was a very bad experience. Totally, unprofessional.

It was amazing to watch how they worked so well together to safely and quickly remove the tree. They brought in the crane and we didn't have to move anything out of the way. They chipped and hauled it away all in the time frame it said it would take. My favorite part was their Supervisor- an amazing golden retriever! Everything is better with dogs :).

Mr. Bolduc showed up on time for the appointment, listened to our needs, and gave us the quote before he left. The office staff did a great job of keeping us informed of when they would be here to do the work. The work crew showed up on time and were friendly and extremely efficient. They spoke with us to confirm what we wanted before starting and made short work of getting set up and moving things out of the way. They even chipped a pile of branches we had collected. :-) We had two large maple trees trimmed back and three trees removed. For the trees they trimmed, they examined each branch before removing it and were very careful about only removing dead/dying branches. Chipping everything as they went. The trimmed trees look great! The trees they took down were in very tight spaces. They were very careful to not damage anything. Our 30-40 foot tall, 80+ year old, mostly dead maple came down in about 45 minutes. Never even came close to our shed that was about 4 feet away from the base of the tree. They were kind enough to cut a slab from the stump for us to keep. They were very safety conscious. Hard hats, ear and eye protection, and the person cutting always made sure everyone was clear before starting the next cut. They were a pleasure to work with, left the yard cleaner than they found it and came in right on target with the quoted price. We would highly recommend them to anyone and will definitely hire them again if we need tree work in the future.
