On 12/28,I was told they might not get back for a few days and that's how they do it. I expressed that this violates our contract for removal and I expected a person from Seacoast tree to inspect and insure the logs were left in a safe location. I paid $13,000 - for 8 trees and Derek had to be the most unfriendly, disrespectful and rude businessman I have ever met! The purpose of the tree removal was 2-fold. It was for safety around the home and also to provide LOTS of firewood! He knew this. He never introduced himself - I had to ask who was Derek when I went out to greet all the guys that showed up. Even once he raised his hand he still did not come over to me. I had to go to him and extend my hand to introduce myself. We had not met as this is my daughter & son-in-law's home. I came up from Virginia for this as I was the payor of the services, which he also knew. Derek started cutting the trees as we (my son in law & I were home) expected, including limbs of good size. Then things changed and we saw a number of pieces going into the chipper (easy for them as all they had to do with that was shoot them into the woods). I went out a total of 4 times to ask him to NOT chip those bigger limbs as they were such great pieces of firewood and even asked if they could just cut to pile or leave in on the ground by the tree. His answer repeatedly?: "IF IT FITS IN THE CHIPPER IT GOES IN THE CHIPPER!" Let me reiterate I was paying him $13,000!! I cannot begin to tell you how infuriating he was and what a great disappointment due the amount of firewood we lost due to his lack of giving a damn what the customer wanted. I tried several options previously: A person that weeded and mulched for me but didn't know the difference between weeds and emerging growth. A company that was not reliable and would not show up consistently or sometimes not at all. Then at the recommendation of a neighbor I called Guy to help me clear out the back of my lot. And from there maintenance. Guy's staff does a fantastic job with the spring and fall cleanup as well as season long maintenance. They know what they are doing. I have also had areas where I've needed grass put in after a construction project and it has come out beautifully! In the last week they replanted another area for me. I met with Guy and told him what plants I wanted currently in the space, and would figure out the rest after, but wanted to get the shrubs in so they would be established before winter. I also asked them to transplant some lilies and a hydrangea from my front garden to the new area. They also re-built a low retaining wall for me last week. They had to lift some 120 ft pines over my house to get them out. Not cheap but fair. It was a tough job that many other companies wouldn't touch. They came, cut, remove all debris. I highly recommend them. Mr. Dentley, who comes to start the ball rolling is a great guy. Use these guys. They won't scam you, they will tell you what they will and can do, and they'll do it when they say they will. So hard to find in some contractors these days. And no, I'm not related. Just a guy in Acton who had a rare good experience with a decent company.

Can't get a better reference than seeing him do the work before my very eyes! We had him prune a large Maple and a cherry tree. We did the best we could over the years with pruning them ourselves, but one of them is too big for us to handle now and we realize now we were doing an awful job on both. ‍ We really didn't know what we were doing. After seeing all of the work Eric did, we realize how important it is to have a professional prune them now. Eric did a fantastic job and the results were completely unexpected. We have other maples that are too young to prune now, but we will have him prune all the trees from now on.
