tUsed them a couple of years ago for a crane job removing 22 trees. Crane supports damaged driveway. Had them come out this year to remove a couple of trees using a lift. They broke branches off several smaller trees when they sent large branches down the zip line. They managed to tear up my neighbor's lawn by not placing enough mats down and driving equipment haphazardly over the area and often off the mats. Bulls in a china closet. read more

Let me tell you something. I rarely do online reviews. And when I do, it's either because the service sucked or it was AWESOME! This review of Burke's is because they were AWESOME! They just left my property. When we decided to clear a lot line of trees, I called 4 area tree service companies. Burke's was the only one that responded. Now, it's the busy season for these companies - I get it. But call me back at least? Burke's did. They explained that their schedule is tight but they'd get me in. They did. They used satellite technology to understand what I wanted and to provide an estimate. The estimate was well within my budget. They let me know 4 days in advance when they would be at my place. They showed up exactly when they said. They asked questions to confirm what I wanted. They asked where they could run machinery and we're careful to avoid our garden, fire pit and other items on the property. And then, they went to work. 90 minutes later, at least a dozen trees down, having blown the leaves and stuff off my lawn, they're gone. They even left me the truck load of wood chips they just created from chipping all my trees. That saves me HUNDREDS in bags of mulch. I won't use another tree service. Period. read more

Wow! I am so impressed with this company! I needed 3 stumps ground and the price was well under their competition. To save even more money I opted to have the grindings left on my property. They were in neat piles for me to use in other parts of my land. They left no ruts (and in March in New England that is no small feat). They completed the job within a week of my initial inquiry. I met with the owner when he was estimating removal of neighbor's trees. Clearly delineated property lines and access to property. He assured me (the owner of adjacent property) there would be no infringement. Company arrived unannounced, and proceeded to trespass to take down trees. Antique truck (just restored) covered in wood chips. Stupid neighbor who hired this buffoon, tried to cover, and that was luckily successful, else I would have sued both their asses off. Burke is a liar, has no integrity, and obviously does not heed property boundaries if it makes the job easier. Loose cannon just waiting for lawsuit and more. Friggin yahoo. read more

Burkes Tree Service is one of the most professional, organized, honest, well equipt companies I have worked with. I hired Burkes to remove some branches hanging over my property. They showed up with a crane and a professional crew of guys that knew exactly what they were doing and did it well. It took about an hour and the limbs hanging on my property were gone. In fact, they cleaned up everything so well, you can't even tell they were here. If you are looking to have tree work done, I would without a doubt call Burkes, they are amazing. Let me begin with the bottom line. On August 29, 2017 my husband and I received an estimate for tree removal from Burkes Tree Service. They require a 20% percent deposit prior to the work and they promise that you will be impressed with their work. On October 30, 2017 I called Burke's Tree Service and demanded my deposit back for NO WORK DONE. They never showed up to do the job after multiple commitments and promised dates. I called multiple times over the two month period to status when they would arrive to do the work they promised to do. Each conversation brought a different excuse....couple more weeks, equipment broke down and is off line, and more of the same. Needless to say we were completely frustrated. This tree work we contracted for included trees that could fall onto our house so we wanted the work to be done BEFORE ice storms and high winds. Well that never happened. On October 30, 2017 the date the woman in the office absolutely promised to be on my property was the major hurricane strength storm that brought power outages for a week in the state of Maine. There is one particular woman in their office that was rude and acted as though they were doing you a favor. Remember, they want a deposit upfront. We should have know they were a problem from the beginning. When I first made contact with the company, I was told that we would get a call prior to a representative from Burkes Tree showing up to look at our trees on our property and assess the job. Well that didn't happen either. The representative came without a courtesy call and walked our property and made the decision what we wanted for work done based on our initial call. In hindsight, we should have terminated our business right there. However, based on a recommendation from a family member, we decided to give them a chance. Bottom Line--I cannot comment on the quality of their work BECAUSE they never showed up to do the job. Some of the office staff were totally unprofessional and not true to their word. Finally, on the day I terminated their services, I called the office several times and no one answered. However, when I called on an alternate line, they picked up immediately. You can draw your own conclusions. I have learned a valuable lesson--if they ask for a deposit GO ELSEWHERE. You become captive to their schedule and their priorities. Very impressive owner and Burke Tree Service is a very impressive company. We had ~40 trees removed from an association that was heavily wooded. Not only did the team come well prepared, the equipment and dedication to ensuring the job was done safely and within budget was amazing. I have worked with contractors who try to collect more once the job is complete. The opposite is true with Burke Tree Service. What was expected to take 5 days took 8... at no time did I feel like I was at risk of being asked for more money, frankly they did more than I thought they would. I do not often right reviews, but felt my experience along with the complexity of our job warranted an opinion others can evaluate for themselves. Just to provide some insight, we had 30 trees over 150 to 200 feet high... some required a crane, some required to be cut by hand (too high). The lots were extremely tight, septic tanks required careful crane positioning, power lines made for challenging use of equipment, and traffic in/out of the park was never impacted. I am absolutely amazed at how great the property looks, not to mention the clean-up they did once done (not a branch left). THANK YOU DAN AND TEAM - Great Job!. read more
