I occasionally have small projects for which I need just half a yard or less of material. Sherwood…read moreLandscape Company has been the solution! I live in Boston, but have a rental in Dover, and after searching in vain in Massachusetts for a landscaping company that will let me shovel gravel or dirt into my car to take away myself, I have come to the realization that it is worth it for me to drive to NH just for this stuff! Great example... I just got about a tenth of a yard of drainage stone, and 0.4 yards of superloam for an above ground garden. If I were to go to a box store or nursery, and get this in bags, it would cost more than $50. All the landscape companies I contacted in MA either required at least a purchase of 4 yards for delivery, or would only sell as little as half a yard, ONLY if you have a truck into which they can dump it. And even if they did let me buy it, the prices would have come to $40. I got the job done through Sherwood for $10, and with some of the friendliest folks I have had the pleasure of working with. I have gone to them several times, and am always impressed and happy that I got to work with them. My only complaint is that they don't have more varieties of rocks/pebbles. But all in all...this is a winner.

I have used this company several times with varying degrees of success with their soils, but this…read moreyear was especially puzzling. I received two separate deliveries of loam, and quickly noticed that wherever I had spread the first delivery, weeds were popping up everywhere. Nonstop. I have attempted to speak with someone, to see if their material had come from a different source, but after three unsuccessful tries, I give up. It is odd this has never occurred in my garden before; I hate to accuse without a conversation with someone, but I have not had that opportunity. So, buyer beware.

Both projects have been very successful: work was done on time, professionally, and at a reasonable price. Service and responsiveness have been excellent; the most recent project, irrigation, was done thoroughly and delivered on time. The HydraWise application is intuitive and user-friendly, and have received the support I needed. Would highly recommend.

We had a lot of old shrubs dug out, new loam put in and new plants installed, and bark on top of…read morethe loam. It looked nice initially last Fall. It came with a 1 year guarantee on the plants. Several didn't survive the Winter. We wanted the dead shrubs replaced and also wanted to set up monthly or biweekly maintenance of the landscaping with them. I sent many web forms through their web page, called and spoke to people at their office, etc. Finally Ryan came to look at the landscaping. He promised by the end of the week to get back to us with a resolution and proposal for pricing for maintenance. Nothing since then to my email, so I called the office, sent texts to his phone, called his phone, etc. I did manage to get hold of him once and he said he'd sent the estimate by email so I replied that I never got it, and asked if he could just tell me what it would cost, or mail the estimate, or send it again, or as a text attachment. Nothing, and now I can't even get through to him. I have called their main office and had several promises that they or he would be in touch. Well it's been 5 months (and several more calls and texts by me) and I've heard absolutely nothing at all.
