Salissa and the team at sea spa were the best choice for all things beauty for my wedding. Leading up to the wedding myself and family got manicures and pedicures at their beautiful salon (mine lasted through the honeymoon!) Emily did my spray tan a couple days before the wedding and she knew how to match the perfect shade and make it look natural. Adriana did my wedding makeup and executed the look I was going for perfectly. Lastly, Salissa went above and beyond with my hair. I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was that bad. From start to finish, this was hands-down the worst hair salon experience I've ever had. It began with the shampoo...if you enjoy being soaked in water and having it splashed all over your face and clothes, then you're in for a treat. I felt like I was drowning. Then came the blowout... where do I even begin? Kim was my stylist, and it was immediately clear she had zero interest in doing a decent job. I showed her a photo of a simple, sleek blowout -- she did the complete opposite. It was rushed, careless, and lazy. The final result? Think Hagrid from Harry Potter. No exaggeration. She used a rough rolling brush that dug into my scalp, didn't section my hair properly, and basically just went through the motions with no finesse. I get that this was a last-minute appointment, but the lack of skill or effort was honestly shocking. The salon itself was chaotic and disorganized. It felt like no one was managing the place or even trying to create a calm, professional environment. Bottom line: this place is overpriced for very mediocre results. I came here for my micro wedding in Edgartown! It was during covid and I felt extremely safe. My appointment for makeup was at 11:15 and they did not bring me in until nearly 11:30. There was another wedding getting done at the same time and they were unsure who was doing who's makeup. With all that aside, once we got started, my makeup artist was TOP NOTCH! She was knowledgeable and did everything I wanted. She knew what colors worked, did great with my color and skin, and truly made me look and feel like a princess on my wedding day! my friend and I booked 2 all day packages with multiple services. I even called the day before to confirm. when we arrived the team was completely disorganized, they had no idea where were were supposed to go or what services we were getting. we were shuffled from room to room and from provider to provider; no one seemed to have any idea what was going on. on top of all of that the services were very mediocre and the blow dries were both so bad we had to go home and redo them immediately. it was supposed to be a smooth, relaxing day and was instead chaos and frustration. We hired Sea Spa to do hair for my daughters wedding in Martha's Vineyard. The two hairdressers did 9 hairdos. They were quick and did a fantastic job. Ok let me start by saying that everyone there was extremely friendly which is why I am giving 2 stars but that's where it stopped. My Mani and Pedi looked as if it were done by my 10 year cousin. I didn't notice all the flaws until sometime that evening. You can literally see every coat that was added. She had to redo one toe 3 times because the cotton between each toe was not apploed properly. And to top it off it was $85. I was expecting to pay a little more $50 - $65 but I thought that was crazy. In fact if my nails had come out great I wouldn't have felt so bad about spending the money. They basically have just random people in there doing nails, I don't think they people have had any training. Its like they said you're hired and o you will be doing nails. read more

We weren't too good at finding our way but eventually did. Once we met the therapists, we shared we.wanted hot stone. Apparently it was too late for us to order what we wanted. They told us it would take 20 minutes to heat them up and we would not get it. They apologized. Forty minutes later our 60 minute massage was over. When we made our way to the front, unescorted again, we told the woman about our massage being cut 20 minutes short and that we could not get hot stones. She asked why, what happened. Once we told her she apologized for both and charged us the full price. They have the ability to be a great spa but it starts with great customer service and getting what you want and what you pay for. I hated not leaving a tip but I hate being ripped off and not receiving exceptional customer service more. read more

The beds were in weird positions, my boyfriend had to stay in front of the door were everyone outside could see him. They charged me $280 2x, when they were supposed to charge $280+$60 for tip. One thing I really liked was when she did my scalp....she placed a linen in my hair first before massaging.....no oil in my hair! (Always a bit of a pet peeve of mine). Why not 5 stars? Points off for unclear signs as to where to go to check in. There was/is no dedicated reception so I had to wander around until I just walked into a door and boldly interrupted a pedicure. Also the room was very small and the masseuse had to keep her bottle of oil on the table between my legs to keep it available. I got married on Martha's Vineyard as a destination wedding in September 2012 coming from the Philadelphia area. I found the Sea Spa Salon by just walking by the Colonial Inn Shops while I was on the island visiting all of our vendors a few months before the wedding. The receptionist was very helpful, she even got Salissa on the phone and put me right on with her. I sent her my hair/makeup requests for the wedding day and the amount of people in the bridal party (I had to email it because of my being long distance). I met Salissa and the make up artist, Jen, the day of my trial run. The salon and makeup room is very intimate and the employees are very friendly. I showed Salissa what I wanted for my hair and she did it even better than I imagined. I was very happy with how the make up turned out, too - I looked like a doll! The day of my wedding I went in with my veil ready to get all dolled up. My sister and my mom also got their hair done by the ladies at Sea Spa Salon and they did a great job. My mom did not know what she wanted walking in but they did a great job creating an up-do for her. It was so nice to be in such an intimate room with all the up-dos being done so close to each other - it kept my wedding nerves down having my mom and sister being all put together right there with me instead of all of us in separate rooms. My photographer was even welcomed into the salon with us to photograph the entire "getting ready" part of my day. Overall I had a fantastic experience with the ladies at Sea Spa Salon, especially being a destination bride meeting my make up artist and hair stylist the day before my wedding! They ruined my wedding day :( I have waited a bit before posting this review but I try to be fair to small businesses however when I think about my wedding day is still get a bit upset. I had a schedule appointment in the salon to do my make up. I booked the appointment months advance and I pre-paid. So the day of my wedding I went to the salon and the make up artist that was supposed to work on me was not there. They left me in to the salon chair to wait. (I am personally used to high-end salons where they offer you a glass of water if they have you waiting) I figure hey I have some time stuff happens so they're running 10 minutes behind schedule no worries. I sat in the salon chair for 30 minutes then went back up to the front desk and just asked what the status was. the person working in the front desk explain to me that they're sorry that they're running late and the make up artist is working on someone for the wedding and weddings are a big deal. I said yup I understand today's actually my wedding day and I have 300 guest waiting for me. Finally the makeup artist showed up after the end of my actual schedule appointment. So at this point I waited for over an hour and a half. Now off to my actual wedding I had to rush to The hotel to get dressed and then off to my wedding meanwhile I'm getting lots of calls because the person who is supposed to be marrying us has to get to another wedding. My poor husband was standing at the altar just waiting for me. The poor officiant literally had to run out the wedding as soon as we said I do you can see her running off in all of our wedding videos. Additionally we paid for Hours of photography for before the wedding that we did not get to take because of this whole hiccup. Only reason why I'm even explaining the cost of everything else is because after the fact and after we got married I try to let it go. Then I started getting a bunch of fraud notifications on my card because the salon I guess was trying to run some type of charge I'm not sure exactly what it was for. So I called the salon to figure out what the heck was going on just because I was under the impression that it was fully pre-paid. I was told that the owner will get back to me The next day of course the owner of the salon did not get back to me the next day I finally had to reach out to her via Facebook and then she finally called me back. Now here's when it all gets ridiculous she went ahead and refunded me OK thanks I guess that's nice but then try to yell at me about how I was just trying to get my wedding make up for free. Umm excuse me You refunded my card without talking to me first so how was I trying to get my wedding make up for free when I never asked for a refund. I did expect as a business woman that you would've at least followed up with me as soon as you found out that the make up artist never showed up for my scheduled appointment time. Or that you would've followed up when I called the salon just to figure out what was going on with the charges on my card. But at no time did I ask for a refund so for you to insult me by saying that I was just trying to get my wedding make up for free is disgusting especially when I am out thousands of dollars for the wedding photography. But honestly it's not about the money it's about the fact that I lost out on memories I could've had more time with relatives instead of sitting in the salon chair by myself crying on my wedding day. But hey at least I'm still happily married and life is overall well But I want to give this warning to every other little girl who's always dreamed of the perfect wedding day. read more

Very, very disappointed. If I could give a zero star, I would. My friend and I went there for an all day girls day. We booked multiple services each. The entire staff was confused and very disorganized and unaware of what services we (had long since) booked. Between each service there was ongoing confusion as to which was next. Lots of waiting and wasted time. The singular service that was performed competently was the message; it was nice. The remaining services were sadly, terrible. I also had a full body scrub (total waste), facial, and wash/blow out at the hair salon. The lady that performed the body scrub and facial was incompetent. She tried to omit facial services until I asked/insisted, her "massage" of my face felt like a rabbit's back legs beating into my cheeks, she blocked my nose multiple times causing my inability to breathe (how many times did I have to tell her to not block my nose so I could breath?!), she left (left!) the room for 15 minutes in the middle of my service; when asked what she was doing she told me "I was getting my stuff together." She also tried to end the session 20 minutes early (ie 1/4 of my paid service time); I obviously said no and asked she continue with the remainder of what I paid for. The day's services ended at the hair salon. I explained my desired style, instead what I got was the "it looks like she plays with electricity" hairstyle. Awful. I'm now back at my hotel trying to undo my hornet's nest of a mess hair. I was so looking forward to this incredibly expensive all day girls day at the spa; it was beyond terrible and disappointing. Please do not go here. Booked body service Krissy on 7/17/23. She in a few areas applied the mud. Cost was $220. She offered to do massage to "fill the time." She asked me if I had any problem areas. I asked her to avoid my left knee. She then proceeded to start doing rotation of joints, popped my right shoulder, and said "not doing anything crazy" going to see about your hip and then proceeded to level my left knee back and forth. She wants to be a chiropractor in Florida and apparently has taken to some amateur practice without consent. When I arrived I was not asked to sign any paperwork, nor fill out any preferences, cautions, concerns or medical issues. On 7/19/23 I called and could only speak with summer help receptionist reporting that I believe I had been injured in Krissy service pleading with her make sure they stop Krissy from doing that anyone else. She cut my cuticles by cutting my skin to where they were bleeding and sting every Time I wash my hands. I had asked for an oval shape which is what I had when I arrived and when I left they were all square which is exactly what I did not want. I would not return to see Spa again.
