What an awesome day we had with Sea Mist III and the crew. Capt Eddy and his mate Christian provided excellent service and knowledge for my novice fishing family. They helped the kids snag fish and would not stop baiting the whole group on the boat. The southern current pushed hard with gusts over 20 mph. Conditions weren't ideal but we still took home 2 yellowtail snapper and caught mutten, trigger fish, king fish, and bonitos. read more

We were so looking forward to this experience but found the staff to be overly aggressive, verbally abusive, and non-tolerant of beginners learning how to fish. They treated us like children, especially the guy with the beard. There was a very friendly guy who handles the administrative duties for the company that was seated next to me and gave me fishing advice, but the other two staff members leading the experience were intolerable and unfortunately took a lot away from the experience we were hoping to have. read more

I couldn't have gotten a better fishing day if I had created it myself !!! It was a beautiful Tuesday morning on August 11th, calm seas, blue sky. By the time we were done and heading back to shore I had caught 7 Bonita's and three smaller fish. While none of them were the kind you bring home for dinner it was still a blast. We had sharks swimming under the boat, barracudas, a sea turtle. I also got to learn about what is good and what is not. The man next to me caught a Scorpion fish which Jake promptly told was very poisonous and for no one to touch it. They do 2 fishing trips daily unless they have a private excursion or the weather is not safe to go out to sea. They provide everything for your enjoyment on the open waters. They explain how to use the on board fishing reels. They are drop line not casting rods. All of the bait is supplied in the admission fee. They will even hook and rehook your rod so your hands never get too smelly. If you catch a "keeper", they will take it off the hook and cold store it for you until the end of the trip. You can purchase your ticket at the dock before boarding the boat. Once on board, find an outside seat to enjoy the beautiful ride up the inter coastal to the inlet out to sea. Beautiful homes and wonderful breezes on the way to the fishing grounds. Grab a drink from your own cooler or purchase snacks before boarding. There is even a small cafe that makes a boxed sandwich meal for you at a reasonable price. (Just allow some extra time for prep as they are not just making togo food) Onboard there is a small raffle to chip in to for a drawing at the end of the trip for a portion of the pot. At the end of the trip, they will retrieve your caught fish for you. They will clean and filet it for a small tip. You can even take is to their family restaurant down the street to be prepared free of charge. You only pay for side dishes. The admission fee is reasonable and there are even discount coupons through the Yelp app when you check in. The staff on land and onboard are very nice and even if you don't catch anything, you cannot beat the boat ride for the views and some time on the open seas without having to rent a fishing boat. read more

Disappointing, we were packed on one side of the boat like sardines with the sun in our eyes. Spent most of the time untangling our lines. The crew was very friendly and tried to be helpful, we tip them well when we got off. Three people caught fish & paid to have them cleaned and filleted. We chipped $5 each Towards the largest fish and it appeared to be rigged a few people left very angry. It was an expensive hot morning, With tips & fees 3 were $175 for 4 hours. We could've rented equipment and a small boat, without the frustration, for less & next time we will!!! read more

Well I have to say we were very skeptical based on reviews, speaking to other people and our lack of knowledge in salt water fishing that we were going to have a good time let alone catch anything. Well we were very surprised! Not only did we have a good experience but we caught 9 fish between the 4 of us. The crew was great. Yes lines got tangled because you had 30 folks sitting next to each other attempting to fish but the crew were hurrying all over the place to assist. I can't even imagine how tough it was for them to keep up with everyone. We even caught a baby shark that we released. We got a groupon special for $25 per person. I enjoyed this experience. The staff was super helpful and I thought I was lucky that we went out with such a small group. More fish for me (or so I thought). It was the first boat of the day and absolutely freezing. Not literally, but it was cold AF. I definitely wasn't prepared for the temperature or for how long we were out there-about 4 hours! For 45 bucks that's not a bad deal but damn can I get some refreshments! Some coffee maybe? Water? A biscuit? Something. Either shorten the trip or provide some snacks on the boat. Also, no one caught a fish but I can imagine on a warm day and with the right refreshments, this is something I could do regularly. read more

Had a great time, getting out on the water for a morning fishing trip. Fishing turned out to only be so so at best, but we did see one of the crew reel in a Wahoo on the initial crawl to our first fishing spot. After that though, the only catches amongst the twelve fishing were a small grouper by another guest and a couple of remora by my 12 yr old son. To be fair, there were a few other instances of fish on, but they were lost before getting them to the boat. First off, the reason why I'm giving 4 stars is because the waters were soooo rough.. Now in saying that, I had a 5 yr old and it was WAY too rough for him but looking around other people were catching a lot of fish. I had checked the waters before leaving and it was to be 2 feet high but when we went out, most waves were at least 6-7 feet high. Going to go again but next time, zero waves. read more

We were in Florida on a business trip and booked the Sea Mist for a team building event. I have never been on a "head boat" (usually charter a private boat) and it was an ok experience. I am a little biased because of my other experiences. I will say that the equipment was good and the mates were very helpful. This is always a crowd pleaser when we have guests in from up north. While we didn't catch a fish to remember we did get lots of catch and release and thats more than half the fun. The crew is great as always and you can participate as much or as little in your angling from baiting to releasing your catch (or keeping it!) as well as any typical fishing fun (tangled lines, etc..). I'm a local and we have been on all the drift boats here and this is the best and most consistent of experiences. Note for the COVID rules. They do practice social distancing to make sure everyone feels safe. It's unfortunate they cant take as many out as before all this, but it does make for a nicer trip with a little more room on board. read more

What a fantastic morning. Went out fishing on the 8-12 morning fishing run on the sea mist 3. It was our family's first time ocean fishing. The weather was perfect, ocean was calm, and the four of us caught 12 fish total -- including two yellow tail snapper and two porgy. Fish tacos for dinner! The crew was great, especially Kirby who was always attentive to adding bait or helping with a tangled line. Can't say enough good things about our experience. read more

The trip was great....I caught 2 fish and my son caught 1. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The only thing I was unhappy about is after we caught the fish I would have like to have been able to take a picture of my son or myself holding the fish. The crew and captain did a great job getting involved with us. As soon as I lost my bait to a hungry fish they were literally right there to re-bait my hook. Gave great fishing pointers on the equipment and fishing in general. Overall very attentive. Constructive criticism - I think the fishing times should be adjusted. Voracious predatory fish hit best at sunrise and dusk. Trip times should be adjusted. Also occasionally add the option of an all day trip and sell snacks and drinks on board.
