Unfortunately, the initial welcome wasn't great. We weren't really greeted--just asked for our names so we could receive a card to board the boat. The woman helping us continued chatting with her coworker and looking at her phone while assisting us, which felt a bit dismissive. The weather was beautiful and the views around the harbor were fantastic, making for a really relaxing cruise. Jeff, the bartender, was a highlight of the trip. He was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about the harbor. He even took a couple of photos for my husband and me, which we really appreciated. Overall, while the check-in experience could definitely be more welcoming and attentive, the cruise itself was enjoyable thanks to the scenery and the great service from Jeff at the bar.

My only feedback for improvement would be getting a PA system for the captain to speak over while giving local information, as it was sometimes difficult to hear the facts and information with a group of 30 people on board.

In fact, if you need something for your boat, this is the place to shop. This location in East Delray is one of the smaller locations as compared to some of the much larger stores in Fort Lauderdale, but they have a nice selection and good customer service. In fact I like the guys that work here much better than the staff in Pompano as they are much more knowledgeable. I was going fishing offshore with some family and friends so I came here to buy some safety equipment as in personal EPIRB just in case I fall overboard or the boat sinks 20 miles off shore. I chose the ACR Electronics ResQLink+ Buoyant Personal Locator Beacon for $270 and I hope to never use it, but if I do, it will be a cheap insurance policy for my safety.

If you ever want a more personalized experience at West Marine. Go to smaller stores like this one. Was looking for bottom paint since I was redoing my boat. When I found that out I ended up feeling a little devastated since the only stores that had the paint I was looking for were north palm beach and Ft. Lauderdale. The associate at time was super understanding and helpful. He offered to get the paint transferred overnight! And even said he would pick it up himself if needed. Ended up getting the paint and primmer the next day and I'm absolutely astonished this guy went out of his way for me. Thank you West Marine!

Was expecting some actual tour info, never visited this area and only new tidbit I learned was in regards to the golden gate. We did sail past a lighthouse but nothing was said about it! The tour guide, Tony was nice enough, but definitely wasn't engaging. Kinda gave the vibes as if our tour was an after thought and honestly didn't want to be there and not familiar with our boat. Tour also started late because we were sent the wrong address. Captain confirmed but wasn't at the confirmed location when we called and we had to drive elsewhere. No signs or flags just "walk to the back of the restaurant". The boat had tiki decor, but could definitely get a facelift. There were bean bags to sit on that have seen better days. Seats in the front would get splashed with water. The floor had wet turf, so be aware of that! Water was offered and stored in a cooler. The cooler also doubled as a seat. Lack of cup holders. Life jackets were dirty! Being that the tour was a sunset one we were anticipating sailing in the dark. Was not expecting to be sailing in pitch black. The only light was from the shore and other boats. Captain couldn't figure how to turn on the string lights. Even when he supposedly called for assist no one knew how to turn it on. We were offered to extend the trip but definitely declined since what would be the point?! We had a good time because of the fun that we brought. Likely wouldn't return with my family.
