Thank you Boynton Beach Diver Center for introducing my family to a new world. My husband and I made the New Year's resolution in Jan 2021 to get Open Water certified with our 11 year old son. It was something we had talked about for a while. But, wanted our son to be old enough to participate with us. We did it together in June! A random Google search and good reviews led us here. Our instructor Joe treated us like family. He took extra care with our son being patient and repetitive until he mastered the safety skills. Katie helped out mama bear with breathing and buoyancy. Hubby was previously certified and did his refresher alongside us. He also picked out our gear like a kid in a candy store. Rented tanks and picked up some accessories from here while on vacation. It's my second year coming to Boynton beach for a family holiday and we returned to the Dive center due to their friendly staff and excellent prices. Katie, who has only been there a few months was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. She made picking up rentals a breeze and her knowledge of the local dive boats was very useful. Recently wife and I completed open water and Nitrox certification through BBDC. Our instructor Chris was extremely patient and made the experience very rewarding for both she and I. Can't say enough about what great people own and work here. We actually signed up for the certification almost two years ago and paid in advance - then the wife had some issues and we couldn't take the classes. Wish I would have gotten my basic open water here. Came here for my advanced from Colorado and learned so much, including the basics. I love this dive shop but this review is specifically about the Bimini Dolphin Day Trip we took last week with the amazing and wonderful dive master Rachel. I cannot recommend this trip with more excitement. The whole day was wonderful and Rachel is da' bomb! Seriously, if you get a chance to take this trip, do it. Quick info, you meet at the Port of Miami and board the ferry over to the amazing island of Bimini, Bahamas. It is a short 2-hour trip aboard a very comfortable boat. There are bathrooms, drinks and food (to purchase). Once you get there, you have some time either in Bimini to walk around or at Luna Beach (indescribably beautiful). There is a nice tiki hut type restaurant to get food and drinks right on the beach. This is first place you encounter the most beautiful clear blue water EVER!!! After that, you hop on a trolley for a quick five minute ride to the marina where you get on the boat which will take you to the Dolphin hunting ground. We found two pods (that we swam with) and another pod we passed on the way back. The swimming with the pods of Atlantic Spotted Dolphins was the most amazing experience for both me and my daughter. We stopped for a quick snorkel adventure at a reef called the Three Sisters. Then, back to the dock for a quick shower at the very nice facilities, change of clothes and back to the ferry for the ride home. The folks on the ferry were so sweet and easy going. The small boat captain, Leon, and Nathan, the guide for our epic adventure were both friendly, informative and epitomized the Bahamian spirit. If you haven't had a chance to dive, snorkel or swim with the Boynton Dive Center, you are missing out. Last comment is about Rachel. She.Is.Awesome!!! Whatever they pay her, it's not enough. She could not have been more friendly, outgoing (even after a very long, tiring day) and care-taking of the whole group. She is da' bomb!!! read more

I had an amazing time getting certified here. Rachel has several thousand dives, and it is evident in the quality of her instruction. She knows her diving, but even more importantly, she knows how to teach. She's patient, kind, and very encouraging. She noticed whenever I might have needed a little extra confidence even if I didn't know it myself, and was always ready to provide it. Great shop! Aside from being a wonderful, family-owned & operated establishment, everyone that works at Boynton Beach Dive Center is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Good place to learn to dive went for my advanced diving cert. Chris Mckenna was great very experienced and you can tell he loves diving,making it very easy to have a good time. I felt very confident after the first day. And the dive sites were great The Staff at the dive center were friendly and informative. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I was charged an additional 3% because I used a credit card. This would have been fine if he gave me the option when i called them to book the training. Had I been given an option i would have have sent a check ,as i booked it almost a month in advance. A little information goes a long way Plus its 2018 ive never been to a retail store that charges a service charge for using a credit card i think is the cost of doing business, of course its their option but be more transparent about it in the future read more

Tom and the crew treat you like you are part of the family. Incredibly knowledgeable, always willing to help, stays open after hours if you need them......just the best. I go in EVERY time I dive and try to give them my business as often as possible. The assortment of products is decent as they always seem to have what you need. If you call in advance, they'll have whatever mix you need for your tanks and they do the fills there in the shop so you don't have to wait for them to be filled somewhere else. The staff are amazing. Knowledgeable and friendly. I got my mask, snorkel and fins there and Rachel gave me tips on how to find the right fit . Later when I felt the mask was leaking water which was my fault she happily exchanged it for one that fit better. I signed up for a diving certification course and Rachel was very flexible with scheduling. I recently got my Open Water Diver and Nitrox certifications from BBDC. The entire experience was great! Chris was my instructor. He explained things in a clear way and was patient with me the entire time, allowing me to truly understand different concepts and become a comfortable diver! I first spoke to the owner Tom (didn't know he owned the shop at the time) and he couldn't have been nicer in regards to answering my numerous questions. Immediately I felt comfortable booking my training with them. Then Hunter and Deb were gracious enough to lend me their time in the shop to explain dive masks, fins and the rental choices for BC's etc. Ethan handled my online questions and followed up quickly with a small issue I encountered with the website, (great customer service). Chris M. my dive instructor from the first minute of class made me feel at ease and it was clear he knew what he was talking about (I think he has had over 4k dives himself). Now to the pool, shore dive and open water portion. God bless Chris as he had amazing patience with me as I learned to feel comfortable breathing under water, clearing a face mask and learning how to do safety stops for ascent. He never showed an ounce of impatience and took the time to make sure I felt comfortable every step of the way. My last open water dive Rachel was also present and though she had students of her own reminded me if I ever needed her in the future she was available (she also offered to give me half her coffee, can you say family feel)? While I have done a lot of diving a bad back has kept me out of a BC for too many years. I decided to get back into the ocean and needed a refresher course and a well trained dive master to accompany me on my first few dives. The Boynton Beach Dive Center provided both. A small, well run operation, unlike the corporate chain dive centers, they worked with me and together we got the job done. A one-on-one refresher course in a pool that wasn't done until the instructor and I felt comfortable with my skills. The next day a two dive trip, once again solo with a dive master. I went diving with Tom and Deb on Tuesday at Catacombs and Delray Ridge. We were certified here but hadn't been back in a long time, having moved away and done most of our diving in Mexico and Central America. I was overwhelmed with how good the diving was here, which I had forgotten. I also liked the friendly, helpful family feeling of the shop. by far the best dive shop i have ever experienced, perhaps the best customer service of any business not just diving. Friendly vibe, super helpful, very patient with me and my two year old (even gave him an ice pop!). I took my regulator to get serviced, rather than just taking it and giving me a big bill he took the time to inspect and test it and determined everything was working fine and a service was not needed. Helped my buddy on some custom work that was above and beyond anything you would expect. I've sent more buddies there and all of them have had a similar experience. A real family business. Great dive shop. Rented equipment and they arranged for the dives. Equipment was new and high quality. They even did some custom instruction for our 10 year old son so he could go on a shallow dive as a first experience. Tom and his wife are former public school teachers.
