Need a place to get fresh seafood for a boil? Or want fresh seafood fry or steamed?! This is your place to go. I got so much seafood for my seafood boil to take home and I didn't break bank. The seafood was fresh and LIVE! Definitely worth it. While I was there O picked up lunch too since I was making the seafood boil for dinner. They fry or steamed your fresh fish there! Let me tell you, it was worth it. The combo meals are where you want to go. You get a bit of everything. Crab cakes were STUFFED with crab rather than just breading! The fried okra was crispy, crunchy. The calamari was crispy and tender! Not chewy at all! The hush puppies were seasoned! And didn't taste like just fried dough, the plantains were sweet and tender. Finally the fish! Buttery, flakey, juicy, tender, BUT with a CRISPY light breading! So much better than other places where they over bread their food and all you get is breading! Would come here again for their food and their fresh seafood to take home! read more

Came here for the first time on a friend's visits. They had a wide selection of fresh fish on display. There's no where to eat in, only takeout. The place was clean and the people were friendly and helpful. Food is cooked when you order so have a little patience. We got the fish sandwich sandwich and it was fresh and hot. It did have bones in it, so bd careful. A nice place to stop on the way home if having a seafood urge. We will be back to try many other kinds of seafood. read more

Sea Depot - Seafood Markets Near Me - Cary, North Carolina

Richmond, VA has an annual all you can eat Blue Crab event that's hard to beat! Reminiscing on that experience, I considered ordering an online Blue Crab delivery - however the delivery fee alone is $30-$50. Sea Depot to the rescue! Sea Depot will steam an order of 12 crabs for you. In addition, they provide fresh and cooked fish/seafood options. With that being said, they suggest you reserve your crab section as they do sell out. Unfortunately, you don't actually select your crabs. We received a mixture of mid-sized female and male crabs. The quality was solid, and the service was exceptional. We also, ordered fresh fish. We found this to be a good selection if you want to order precooked or fresh fish, but be mindful there are other providers that are 20-30% lower in price but equal in quality. We'd definitely try again! Fresh/cooked seafood market: 3.98 read more

Finally tried Sea Depot as a takeout order. The staff here are nice and professional. My Mom called me from the restaurant and a staff member spoke with me to clarify my order. I enjoyed the flounder and shrimp. I wasn't a fan of the scallops here. Overall, a good go-to seafood selection accessible to both Cary and West Raliegh residents. The staff here are pleasant, professional, and receptive. To my knowledge (from Mom's viewpoint), it was presentable, clean, and well-lit inside. read more

We special ordered a bushel of blue crabs for our party and the Sea Depot folks were super helpful and came through with great product. Most impressive, they checked the crabs before we left the store to ensure we didn't get any dead ones, not all places do this, and dead crabs are wasted money! We also got some fresh shrimp that we steamed up, delicious. If you are looking for fresh seafood, check them out, they were very helpful and have fantastic seafood read more

One of the best seafood markets/restaurants in the Triangle. Several specials are offered weekly. Worth the drive .

Great service ! Fresh food! Would definitely recommend! All types of seafood! The owner is very helpful!

Decent, fresh options at a fairly reasonable price. You can also have food cooked for takeout (fried or boiled/broiled) and food is always piping hot. There is a very kind and helpful lady with a ponytail that's so pleasant to interact with. I don't visit this place often because I'm rarely in the immediate area but when I am - getting some cajun fried fish or scallops is a must. read more

Great seafood. Fresh as you can get without being on the ocean. They also fry it up for you if you want. Great combo options as well. It's usually always busy, but they get it done pretty quickly. Highly recommend!! read more

After seeing a bunch of reviews on Sea Depot I had to go check it out since man can not live by pizza and burgers alone! Sometimes seafood is the only way to go and you know how these casual seafood spots are. Not much to look at but once you get past that, you're in for a great meal! Sea Depot is located on the corner of Chatham and Maynard, there are lot entrances on both streets, just get as far to the corner as you can. Small, ratty storefront, inside it's not much better. One display area full of crushed ice and a mish-mash of equipment, sundry items and more. I had called in an order of country flounder and fried shrimp which comes to me in a styrofoam contain for $9.95. Walking out with my lunch, I admit I was immediate skeptical because it didn't pass the weight test. The whole lunch package felt a bit light but we shall see! I get home with my fried seafood haul and it looks decent. The combo seafood platter comes with tater tots, hushpuppies, a small container of slaw along with 8 or so shrimp and one fried catfish filet. The sides are decent, the shrimp is plump and tender while the catfish is a bit different coated in cornmeal. Overall a nice meal but falls a bit short of what I typically get at Saltwater Seafood and Fry Shack. Quality-wise Sea Depot is decent but there's less food and it costs a bit more which dings them. Saltwater seafood typically gives two pieces of fish, more for sides and they'll normally pack butter, cocktail sauce and/or tartar. So Sea Depot isn't bad at all but I have to give em 3.5 stars for value and I'm rounding down. Just my first visit so we'll see what happens for round 2! read more

Sea Depot is my favorite seafood market in Raleigh-Durham. I purchase pounds of shrimp with the heads, and very fresh red snapper. To walk in the store is to be welcomed with warm customer service. This place is always a winner. read more

1 pound of jumbo shrimp costs $17 after taxes. There is also no information posted about the shrimp (such as wild, farm, etc). Salmon was low in stock...not worth the trip. read more

Love it! Fresh food friend fast staff. No seating to dine in however everything is fresh and made to order. Food can definitely be enjoyed in the car, my plate didn't make it home read more

I got a combination with 3 items: flounder, scallops, shrimp. The flounder was my least favorite. The breading was too thick. The shrimp was good and the scallops were cut up in tiny bites and deep fried. The scallop bites could have been bigger. They were tiny. Overall the market is pretty good. The prices were reasonable. read more

If you want fried fish this is the place to go! Good selection and they fry to order. The seasoning is very good so you are getting flavor and it's not bland. You can call in for pick up or walk in and order the wait is never to long. The only negative is they close at 7p. read more

This is a great place to pick up some fresh fried seafood. I come here when I crave fried octopus and scallops. Bonus is that they have huge scallops for a decent price. There's no seating though. read more

Seafood is fresh. Great customer service and awesome food. Been coming here for years and look forward to coming for many more.

Amazing fresh fried fish and shrimp! Would recommend eating it asap since it can get soggy if left in the container to long. Their seafood seasoning can also be bought separately and has served as a great addition to my own marinades and dry rubs at home. Service is quick and friendly. read more

We stopped in for a quick lunch. Had two meats on one plate (shrimp and flounder). The shrimp were excellent. The flounder was tasty too. You order they'll fry. Let them keep the mess. A lot to choose from. Prices are very reasonable. read more

LOVE Sea Depot! Clean store, friendly staff, great selection of very fresh fish and seafood. And! The fried options are delicious and very convenient read more

Terrible. Catfish was greasy, shrimp were over cooked, food was extremely skimp and it is way overpriced. Workers are also rude. You have to pay for condiments such as ketchup and anything else. read more

This place is straight up garbage. I have driven by many times in the last 4 years and finally decided to stop in and see what they had.... They had one medium sized ice table with like 6 different fish, a small tray of shrimp, and a small tray of squid. Thats a depot? They have more space dedicated to nothing than they do to fish. No salmon, crab, lobster, crawfish.... The variety is weak. They should change the name to "The fish table".... and the place looks filthy..... NEVER AGAIN read more

Though this little shop in this sketch strip mall may seem a bit sus , its actually pretty great. Fresh seafood and will even fry your fish there . With sides of fries or hushpuppies to go with . Was pretty good and a good cheap feed for fam read more

We went back for a second try, just to make sure the first time wasn't a fluke. GREAT SERVICE, GREAT FOOD, GREAT PRICE - Two weeks apart, on different days of the week, so it's no fluke. Sea Depot is the real deal. And to the lady who said she couldn't get served 5 minutes before closing - grow up. Their sign said open because they aren't just a restaurant; they're a store and could serve store customers for another five minutes. Have a heart, lady, as hard as these guys work, they deserved to get off work at closing time. You weren't going to tip them anyway. read more

Sea Depot has every conceivable type of local fish caught, like, today. It doesn't get much fresher than this, and the variety is pretty incredible. With laser-like speed the guys behind the counter will clean and filet whatever sounds good to you, and you can race back home and to prepare it as only you can. They have a cute tagline "You Buy, We Fry" meaning they will even go so far as to batter and fry your selection while you wait, I haven't taken them up on this but they have a loyal following judging by the line at about 4 pm. They also sell fresh NC oysters in the shell, and Washington Oysters in pint containers that pan-fry into a quick and delicious entree when you can't think of anything else to make. read more

Yummy! Fresh seafood to take home or they'll fry it for you right there! I love the variety though it's seasonal. We've always have the freshest seafood there. Price couldn't be more reasonable.. I just wish they have fresh cocktail sauce.. that wouldn't matter if you take home to eat ,! read more

Sea Depot - It is going to be very good I already know that, cuz I'm a fishneesta..lol - Seafood Markets Near Me - Cary, North Carolina

The interior was not at all what I had thought it to be. I figured there would be tables and chairs inside where you can sit down and eat, kind of like a diner. But it is only to go. Which is fine, but I know for next time. Food is similar to Captain D's, but I'm going to assume more fresh here. Beer battered cod was piping hot and couldn't taste any fresher, I quite enjoyed it and I'm not even really that much into eating fish. You get hush puppies, tater tots and cole slaw included. I'm not sure if cole slaw was made in house or store bought. One plate is 7 dollars and you can pick things such as scallops, catfish, flounder, crab cakes, shrimp, oysters, tilapia and trout. Some of the sides options are fries, egg roll, fried okra, plantains, and jalapeño corn nuggets. The fresh fish by the pound is quite reasonable priced. read more

I ask for real scallops and I got baby scallops they gave me catfish and I asked for trout.your food sucks. Not to mention it's all saggy, greasy and nasty. What waste of fucking money, should've known better not to buy food from this shit holes. read more
