My go to spot for meet ups with friends or to grab a Pliny the Younger when it's released in February. My go to order is definitely the wings. I would die for their wings and the truffalo sauce, which you can order by the bottle for take home. Forgot to take a picture during my visit but they were piping hot, large wing that were sauced up beautifully. Staff is always friendly and the ambiance is a vibe. A classic tap room for sure. Beers are excellent and they even have ones that are rare to find like Cascade brewery (once the keg is empty it's gone forever, since Cascade closed). They note freshly tapped kegs which is nice too. 100% recommend. In fact I gotta go back for more wings soon. read more

Decided to stop in SD taproom for one of the World Cup games. The restaurant was pretty full, but we found two barstools open. I immediately enjoyed the open environment and the bar set up, but the high top tables were scattered seemingly randomly throughout the restaurant, making it very hard to weave your way through if you need to get to the back of the restaurant for any reason or to use the restroom. Our waitress was very friendly and always smiling, which was really refreshing. We ordered two drinks (not pictured), but I had a hard kombucha or cider that was made by the taproom and very delicious. We ordered the chicken wings and spicy tuna melt with sweet potato fries. Both items came out hot and we're satisfying, but you're not going to have an aha culinary moment here. All in all, I would definitely return for the drinks and atmosphere, but would not run back for the food. read more

Stopped in for my son's end of season football gathering so we didn't order much. We were in the back patio area of the restaurant, which was very laid back and such a chill vibe. They had screens casting a few different college football and light music in the background. My husband and I just got a small bite, the truffle wings were chef's kiss!! I would order more next time and have it as a meal. The sauce is a mixture of garlic, truffle and buffalo. Props to The creator, and please never take this off the menu. Great beer and solid grub! Also a decent place to watch some football on Sundays! See you there? Stopped by twice over the past week, and I'll probably be back on Thursday. I'm currently loving the award winning PB Haze. It's a delicious, bright, slightly fruity, IPA that's perfect for Sunday football. Tossed back 3 of these ~7% ers and was feeling great. Jeff and Kayla took care of my needs, but the restaurant did appear a bit understaffed, as it took a little bit to get a beer. On the second trip, it was more PB Haze, followed by some tenders and truffle fries. While I thoroughly enjoyed the "real chicken" tenders, beautifully coated in panko bread crumbs, and the battered fries, it was the garlic aioli that stole the show. If I'm just ordering fries, I'd definitely get them with extra garlic aioli. Look at those beautiful chunks of what I'm almost certain was roasted garlic. Yummmbo! We had just finished watching the MexicovEngland game and our group of 6 wanted to catch up all together here. As the rest of the group arrived, our waitress kindly let us know that the kitchen was closing in 10min. Our food was great, the cookies could have been cooked with less time in the oven - though we left the restaurant finding an extra charge on an alfredo pasta. We only ordered one! We have tried calling but they will not answer the phone. The first time they answered, they said Hello, we explained our receipt situation and then we were hung up on! Then they stopped answering their phones after. They were late on the alfredo even though my friend arrived there first. So I'm curious if it was just double sent to the kitchen since it took the longest to come out???? :( Loved the truffle fries and garlic aioli. The pizzas were decent, the drinks were subpar, but we hope this mistake was not intentional. Watch out for extra charges. Will contact my bank for this to be fixed. Sigh. read more

The food here is top tier. This is one of a few places I had almost everything on the menu. My favorite thing on the menu is the ahi salad. I dream about it when I go too long without it. The burgers are great and the pizza is really good. My favorite pizza is the chicken pesto. The drinks are good if you're a beer person or if you would like an average bottle of wine but I wouldn't go very much further than that. I'm still giving 5 stars despite the drinks becasue the food is that good. read more

SD Taproom is a local favorite that I hope never goes out of business. One of the last standing OG restaurants in the area. We came on a Trivia night (Monday) and it was pretty packed. Went for brunch and bottomless mimosas, and can honestly say it was really great! The bottomless mimosas for $13 is an incredible price for what you can get, and the fact they allow you to make them yourselves is a nice touch, allowing you to make them exactly how you like. The breakfast was also nothing to scoff at, with beautiful presentation, great flavor, and also pretty fair prices foe what you get. I ordered the Breakfast Sandwich which was incredibly tasty and none of the ingredients were greasy or overbearing to the sandwich as a whole. Service was fine, not the most friendly staff, but not overtly rude either, but the back patio made up for it with really noce scenery and an airy, open esthetic. Another #TruDump review! So we walked in on 4th of July to watch a big World Cup game. Place was half empty. First thing we did was ask the hostess if they had game audio on. She didn't give us an answer. We were seated in front of the biggest tv and as soon as our server arrived, first thing we asked her was if they could turn the game audio on. She said she'd check. She took our order and didn't return for a long time. A food runner brought our food out, so we asked him about the game audio. He said he'd check but he never came back. So now we've asked 3 workers about getting the audio turned on and no one has had the courtesy to give us an answer. The table next to ours was also interested in the World Cup game with audio & said they'd support us in continuing to ask for it. Now we're half way through our meal and we've run out of water--still our waitress is nowhere to be found. I wave down another worker (#4) and ask him if he can refill our water jug. He does and when he brings it back, our waitress finally checks on us so I ask again about the game audio. This guy who got our water simply says, "yeah I'll turn it on in the back." WHAT THE HELL? Why was it so hard and why did we have to ask so many employees? How can so much of the staff be so clueless and not care about their customers? During World Cup season a lot of bars make their highest earnings of the year. This place is horribly managed & we won't be coming back. read more

My friends and I trekked out to SD TapRoom at the suggestion of a bartender at Bare Back Grill. On the map, it didn't look that far, but walking to it said otherwise! There weren't a ton of breweries we could walk to as a group between Bare Back (close to our vrbo) and SD TapRoom, so we made it our first stop in the night. We arrived at the tail end of dinner and rush hour so there wasn't a wait to get sat. SD definitely has an extensive list (mainly their own), with lots of award-winning options. It was like a kid at Christmas! What sets them apart based on my history with breweries are their flights. Holy moly. 5 oz pours a piece?! I got in over my head ordering 6 of them. I definitely did not have capacity to finish them all.. but also a couple weren't exactly what I was hoping them to be. All of us ordered flights of varying combinations. Winners (for me) - Bee The Buzz, Citra Starburst, Double Strawberry Cheesecake. Non-winners - Woods Strong Ale.. it definitely is strong! Got some mixed vibes from the staff. Not sure if it was because it was towards the end of the night or they genuinely just did not want to talk shop. One of them was super nice and we talked shop a bit, which made the end of our visit pleasant. We stopped here for lunch on Easter and we absolutely loved it! It wasn't crowded, our waiter was super friendly and attentive and the had a great selection of beers. It's located a little further from from the beach, which I can appreciate because that area can get really busy. Now let's talk about the food... I can definitely see why their mac & cheese is award-winning. It was so creamy and had bacon bits inside of it. It was honestly the best mac & cheese I've ever had. I also ordered the Smashburger. Was meeting a friend here after watching some football a block away and I happened to walk to the new meet up spot for the Detroit Lions. They use to meet at The Dog nearby but now meet here! It was super cool to see this piñata event happening where you can buy a raffle ticket to hopefully hit at the piñata filled with candy, alcohol and even gift cards. I got lucky and got a $25 gift card for the pizza spot and then one liquor shot. Inside I did have a beer and it was pretty fresh from the tap. I'd surely check it out and just be warned that it is a lions bar so it can be pack when they play. :) read more

Although not the best, the cheese and salsa on the side helped with the richness of the overall plates. I come to this location often and it is our go-to for a quick bite with friends/ family. Staff is always incredible, great beer list, and always a good vibe. Food can be inconsistent, tried the truffalo wings a while ago and they were insanely good, the next time I ordered them there was barely any sauce and they were overcooked. One friend noted his chicken sandwich had no flavor. Other than that, net positive on the food, 9.5 out of 10 times it's perfectly delicious. We held a baby shower on the patio this past weekend and I just have to say if you are looking for a space for a private party this is it. They were absolutely amazing to work with leading up and delivered more than I could have imagined on the day.
