I called the market a little over an hour before the workshop started to see if I could switch to another date or possibly receive a refund due to the circumstances. I was told that they don't allow cancellations or changes unless you give three days' notice, because they had already paid the instructors and didn't have anyone to fill my spot. I asked if that policy would still apply in extreme situations... like a blizzard or severe weather advisory, which we were actually under at the time and was told yes, the policy would still stand. It was frustrating to hear that there was no flexibility at all, esp given the circumstances. Paying $65 (w tax $70) and not being offered the option to reschedule or receive any accommodation felt really unfortunate. Customer service and a little compassion could go a long way here.
