The people working there are very nice. It's appearance on the inside can give a little bit of sensory overload (in terms of the colors in different areas in the store). However, they carry varying amounts of supplies so you might have to go online to buy them if items are not available in store. BTW 1) They have a point card where you could get 10% off each time you purchase something and collect the amount you paid (ex. Pay $15 = 15 points). 2) When you are shopping online, you will get free shipping if you buy things that add up to $39 or more.

They always have what I need and things I didn't know I needed. The prices are far superior to Michael's and better than Curry's. Plus the discounts are great and the rewards program is solid too. Oh and did I mention it's animal friendly? I can take my dog for walks in Petsmart and Deserres, Oh and also the customer bathroom is pretty cool. And free bags, who needs to pay a nickel for a bag? All in all, it's a great store. One of my favourite hangout spots, I can test my markers and pencils and all that and talk to awesome staff.

Rude and racist owner…read more Been here for few times previously. Prices are not the best in town, the Michael's just a few blocks down the street has things cheaper but I thought it's a small business I could support. However, the most recent trip made me definitely not wanna go back. I walked in to a customer talking to the owner at the checkout counter. I didn't pay much attention to them as my mind was fixed on getting the supplies I needed for my project. The conversation got heated and both parties raised their voices so I stopped to take a look. I saw the owner pointed his hand toward the door and said "out, out!" and she angrily left. When I was done with my shopping and came to the counter to pay, he smiled and said, in his very limited English: "black people, trouble trouble right?" It's bad enough yelling at a customer, it's entirely another level of rudeness to make racist comment to another customer. Am I apparently better than the other lady just because the colour of my skin?

My friend and I wandered in on a Sunday afternoon to find a children's art class going on. The staff were highly engaged in the class but did briefly stop to greet us and to let them know if we needed anything. The space isn't huge as the majority of it seems to be dedicated to their art classes, but they have the basic supplies, plus some other fun items that are sure to catch your eye. There is a small room which looks to be a gallery of sorts, but it was hard to tell exactly what was going on with the space. Since the canvas space also serves as a workroom (details below), purchases are made opposite, in the Art Supplies. Special orders can be made in both categories of the store, with no minimum requirement: select cuts and sizes of papers, lot quantities of metallic potter's clay, even custom-made canvas supports. Artist materials stocked include fabric, woodworking and ceramic arts, in addition to the traditional paint (oil, watercolour, acrylic) and drawing (charcoal, pastel, pencil crayon) inventory by reputable companies (Olfa, Derwent, Staedtler, Golden, to name a few.) Exclusive to the store are the wide range of Selectum miniatures (flag push-pins; model trees, cars, buildings), Excel knives and burnishers, and so far, the only place I know of in Toronto, Ontario that retails, Alumicolor rulers and T-Squares. Toose also carries course materials as recommended from art instructors within the shop's academic environ. They have a lot of variety and choice on papers, stamps, everything. It's a little hard to find when you're not actively looking for it, but it's in a pocket plaza on the side. Working at Michaels, I do quite a few comparisons while shopping at both. - Michaels is a lot more expensive when not using a coupon, while Pointers offers good and affordable deals. There's also a clearance/sales section that is super cool. - Michaels only offers the big name brands and their own line of products. I find that Pointers has a lot more variety in stamps and everything related to scrapbooking - While Michaels is not super modern, I do find that Pointers offers more traditional and "classic" products. Not knocking it down, but I do not like ugly illustrations with curly type that says "you're brighter than a star" on my stamps (I made that one up, but I'm pretty sure I can find something similar to that) I did a lot of comparisons, but I think it is a good way to illustrate that Pointers is an amazing place. I frequently recommend customers here when they can't find what they're looking for at our store. Service is very nice and I notice that they have a lot of classes and loyal customers. Definitely recommended for all your scrapbooking needs.
