They have a $200 fee for coming out that covers repairs if they do not need to install expensive equipment. I think that is very reasonable in today's world. Rick, who lead the team, strikes me as being honest as the day is long. It is so good to find intelligent, honest, and competitant craftsmen to fix stuff when it needs. Not prorated as to how much for the eval and how much for the repair. But being an understanding guy he 'gave me a break' and cut it down to merely $329. I had one of their electricians out to give me an estimate for the replacement of some lighting fixtures and to rewire their switching. All of the materials needed were already onsite minus the cost of some wire and a couple of inexpensive light switches. The price quoted was between 1600.00 & 1700.00. When I asked him how long he anticipated such a job might take, he said between two and four hours. I suspect that his high end timeline was probably an overestimate, but even at four hours, that worked out to over 400.00/hr. At two hours, it was twice that. I asked how an electrician could justify that fee and was told he didn't set the fees. I told him I totally understood, paid the service charge and sent him on his was.
