Scuba Tony is hands down one of the best dive companies around. The instructors are super friendly and know their stuff, making you feel totally at ease. We got the pleasure of diving with Miguel all week who took us to some amazing dive spots, and helped us with anything we needed. I love how they also focus on marine conservation, so you learn a lot while having an awesome time. If you want a fun and unforgettable dive experience, Scuba Tony is the way to go!

Our second year diving with Scubatony. My family of 4 dove 6 days and 18 dives with the crew I don't have enough kind words to explain our experience with this crew. What a top notch operation, they are amazing. I especially would give a big shout out to Miguel and Mago, I would dive with these two anywhere and anytime. We told Miguel what we would really like to see and he found everything on our list. A big thank you to the entire crew! See you soon.

The best customer service I've seen in any industry. Adam, the owner, and Kris, one of the lead instructors, were both amazing. I spent over 12 years in academics after high school; and Kris is by far one of the top teachers/instructors I've had. Given the danger inherent in this sport, having Kris lead us, gave me such a sense of comfort. The instructions were clear. They were repeated the right amount of times to commit to memory and every skill was demonstrated both out of the water beforehand and then repeated again in the water. As you know, Cozumel is known for its diving, so if you're reading this review and trying to decide where to go scuba diving or get your certification I would look no further. If you're looking for a scuba company, there are ton out there, but couldn't recommend Scuba Tony more. They're a one stop shop if you need--they have rental cars and even a condo you can rent. It has the most amazing views, is clean, is updated with large TVs (which have movie/tv streaming applications), for when you just wanna relax after a long day of scuba diving.

Just back from a week of diving with Scuba Tony, and it was a 5-star experience in all categories. In addition to previous comments, I want to mention a few other positives: 1). Dive time. If air and computer allows, your dive master will always give you a full hour of bottom time. When you consider that the dive trip pricing, per trip, is in itself competitive, getting a full hour to explore the reefs makes Scuba Tony a great value. 2). Surface interval. After that one-hour first tank dive, you'll have a relaxing hour of surface interval at a near by beach. The beach time is fun, plus you'll have off-gassed enough to be ready for a 1-hour second tank dive. 3). Maximum six divers per boat. If you've been on a cattle boat before, you'll know why this makes for a much more enjoyable experience. 4). Fresh fruit! In between dives we were offered fresh, sliced, tropical fruit: mango, pineapple, papaya, rambutan. Exquisite. 5). Super knowledgeable crew - diver masters *and* captain. The captains - Hector and Carlos - are amazing, they know so much, and will answer your questions. During one of our surface intervals, while cruising to shore at a few knots, Hector spotted a juvenile Frog Fish swimming among the sargasso. He scooped it up in a plastic tub so we could get a closer look. I plan to dive exclusively with Scuba Tony on future trips to Cozumel.

Had the most incredible time diving through SCUBATony. Every guide is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and professional. I cannot say enough good things about Carmelo, Papo, Alex, and Hector. By far the best dive experience I have ever had. The service is second to none. Gear was fantastic and among the best rental experience I've had. Cannot recommend them enough.

Lots of scuba diving going on in the marina where ScubaTony and others leave from

Absolutely fantastic!! There are way too many choices when it comes to diving in Cozumel. I tried searching TripAdvisor but there were far too many different opinions on there. Our hotel was just pushing the dive company they had some partnership with. I searched Yelp but wasn't too many reviews. THIS IS 100% LEGIT ADVICE - IF THEY HAVE SPACE, DIVE WITH SCUBATONY!!!! DIVE MASTER = A+ We have been certified for 5 years but not many dives under our belt. The dive master Roberto was AMAZING!!!! He was very friendly, helpful and reassuring. He helped us with our gear, refreshed us on everything, and during the whole dive, he was with us to be sure everything was ok. Such a wonderful and pleasant person. Plus, he asked us exactly what we wanted to see. I told him I like the coral and my wife likes the marine life. He took us to two different locations, one for each of us. Fantastic. CAPTAIN = A+ The captain was hilarious! As a captain, he was great. Got us out to the dive sites fast, helped with our gear, getting us back on the boat, etc. Best part was during our 1 hour surface break, he turned into a one man magic show! He was so awesome doing some great magic tricks! Really fun! RESERVATIONS = A+ Andrea helped us with booking the trip. She was super fast to respond by email even late into the night. She helped us get the perfect time, worked with us on all the details, and she even came diving with us (along with one of the owners Adam). Such a happy and fun person. OVERALL = A+ They have two boats. They are smaller compared to other dive companies BUT that's a good thing. They only dive with max 6 people. Some other companies dive with 20+ people at a time and makes for chaos. Scubatony keep is small and personal. The whole team is awesome and my wife and I are super happy we chose them. PRICING = A+ From what I saw, their pricing was competitive with the other companies. Their gear rental was better priced. Based on what we needed, it was only $20/person for our mask, flippers, weights and BCD. Even if they had been more expensive, they would still be the best deal considering what you get. Next time I'm anywhere in the area (Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Cozumel), I'm going diving with them. There is absolutely NO reason to bother with any other company. Thanks Roberto, Andrea, Adam, and magician captain!!! (Sorry forgot your name).

This was my first time with boat entry, open water warm dives, and I had the best time! The entire experience was great. Service: As this was part of a solo travel for me, I was in communication with the dive shop via WhatsApp to make sure that I was fully prepared. I felt very comfortable the entire time, and everything was explained clearly. All materials and great were prepped and ready for me upon arrival, and all staff members that I was interacting with were kind and welcoming. Experience: We did two dives, and had some discussion on the boat as to what we most wanted to see, to help determine the locations that we would travel to. We settled on Palancar Bricks for the first dive, and La Francesa for the second. There were 7 divers with 3 dive masters, so despite being a solo traveler, I felt like I had a ton of support. The overview of the dive sites before entry was great, because it primed me for some of the aquatic life that we would see. As my first warm water and coral reef dive, I can say that scuba diving is one of the great privileges of my life--I was overcome with emotion at seeing so much! Schools of small (young) fishes, corals, large organisms, sponges, nurse sharks, barracuda, a seahorse, a cozumel toad fish, giant parrot fish, and so many more! Special thanks to Captain Mono, Jorge, Juan, and Javi who led our trip. If I ever have the fortune of returning to Cozumel, I will absolutely return for more trips!

The guides were incredible, and diver to dive master ratio was 2.5 to 1, and best of all, they had parkas on board to keep us all warm. This was one of the nicest dive shops based on service, limiting the group to a small size, and the extra things they did for comfort. I highly recommend Scuba Life Cozumel - 10/10!

We booked a reef dive online and received a confirmation email stating there is a discount for cash…read morepayments and that credit card deposits will be refunded upon receipt of cash (see picture). The port was closed so we could not do the reef dive and switched to cenote diving. We had to pay the difference in cost between reef diving and cenote diving at the dive shop. What was not made clear is that there are ADDITIONAL fees for credit card payments at the dive shop, not discounts from the stated amount. Despite stating in the email "exchange rate for the Mexican peso will be set by Google's posted exchange rate on the day of payment", we had to pay at an exchange rate of 22 while the Google exchange rate for the day was 19.93. We paid an extra $29 because of this. Staff assured me that I could email for a refund in the amount we overpaid, but no one ever responded to my email. I reached out on whatsapp and was told I could return to the dive shop the following day with cash. When I arrived the following day with cash (which I pulled out from the ATM specifically for this purpose), Maria was extremely unprofessional and stated that my requests for a refund were "a nightmare" and that I could not pay in pesos but had to pay USD. She stated that if I paid in cash with pesos, it would be at the same 22 exchange rate. The diving itself was fine and our dive instructor was actually fantastic, but my interactions with Maria and their unclear (and seemingly dishonest) payment practices left a bad taste in my mouth. Knowing what I know now, I would not have booked with Manta Divers.

Coconut Scuba - If you are a first time scuba diver,…read moreuncertified as myself, and looking for an unreal and unique experience - this is perfect! My friend and I bought a discovery tour that included : - 1 lesson in the pool - 1 dive at the museum (Isla Mujeres) - 1 dive at the coral reef (Isla Mujeres) - boat ride (to the spots, but still nice) The instructors are so incredibly patient and kind! Personally, I had Manuel and Ulysses and they were personable, thoughtful, funny, and easy to understand. My friend and I felt extremely lucky to have such guidance in a first time experience! The layout of the day definitely took longer than we thought. The day started at 10, but they needed to drive us down to the new location. After our lesson, we actually waited an hour for a the certified divers to arrive so that we could all leave on the boat together. That did not bother myself and my friend, we just took a nap in the sun! But for anyone trying to have set plans afterwards, be mindful that you won't arrive back to port until 5:30/6pm. My friend and I were STARVING afterwards, having eaten light to help with nausea that can come with diving. I would recommend bringing a snack for AFTER your final dive, but eat fruit or granola and yogurt beforehand. The museum was actually prettier than I thought! I had believed that the museum was somewhat of a waste, but it was beautiful due to the wildlife that has taken root among the statues. I had never scuba dove, but had snorkeled and done snuba. If you have done these activities - you will feel right at home ! My friend had done none of these and caught on super quickly as well! The reef was spectacular. We saw many bright fish including the parrotfish! Yellow, blue, reds and orange, and even a small pufferfish. We saw a turtle once we got back onto the boat - timing is everything! If you are mindful of all the different coral and types of underwater sea life you can truly appreciate the dive regardless. You enter a new world and the time flies by as you soar over the reef. My friend made a comment that isn't as saturated with color, and I do think that is a good point. Don't expect neon edited colors, although some purple's did pop, as this is a natural place! Overall, I'd return to dive with coconut divers, and would recommend them to a friend.

I felt so comfortable and really came out of the course a better diver because of him! The rest of the crew was just as amazing and caring. Ulysses is a very skilled master who helped everyone really enjoy themselves. I was able to watch him with beginners doing a discovery during my cert dives and he was kind, patient, and helped them have the best time! My brother and sister in law also did their advanced cert with him and they had nothing but great things to say. Ricardo was a great captain and Poncho took incredible photos underwater for us! We saw so many amazing things and creatures during each dive (wreck, reefs, and underwater museum) and our favorite was the night dive! We saw a ton of rays at the wreck, spotted a shark, barracuda, eels, octopus, and many turtles, lobsters and crabs during the night dive. We had the best adventures even when the waters were a bit choppy because of the winds, we always felt very safe. They were so flexible and willing to take us out because we almost couldn't go due to the harbor closing because of high winds. They communicated constantly with us and when they found out the good news it would open, just later that day, they offered and we jumped at the opportunity to do the dives we planned! We stayed at the Riu Palace Peninsula and it was literally a couple minute walk across the street. We'll never forget our experiences with the crew and will definitely be back for more when come back to Cancun! Highly recommend for all levels and ages.
