Leslie laughed at my wife when she was hesitant to give the password to our account over the phone. Supposedly this is the only way to get any account info over the phone. Terrible business practice, rude customer service. No alternative to actually prove who you are to get help over the phone. Be aware that this company either stores all of their customers info in a non-secure fashion so that their employees can reference it OR they are logging in to your customer facing profile to get information about your billing history and payments. But when I went in in person I was given all the info immediately no questions asked or identity verified in any way. So what gives? Unfortunately not many other options for internet around here but I no longer trust SCTC to handle our information or be at all helpful with the process. And what do you do about a forgotten password? Can't get help over the phone, can't log in to the account to make a new one? We will be looking elsewhere for internet service. read more

As a new move-in to the area, we found a company that answers everything you ask and goes above and beyond to make a simple service install enjoyable, let me explain, because there can't be anything better than our service. A simple phone call to Maureen at SCTC to feel how the company is and how they operate was met with a pleasant voice, patience for my questions and no UPSELL gimmicks. She listened to what I had for needs in connectivity and addressed the best options right up front, and it was less than what I was paying elsewhere....and it just gets better. Installation day was met with two professionals Mike & Marty who just wanted to see the house and what they could do to prevent any invasive installs like Dish Network would have done ( Dish has two roof penetrations from past clients, that have affected the roof and are not maintained since install) so.... I showed them everything they asked, attic access, under house access, ideal room we'd hope to host their battery backup. After a brief, and I mean brief walkthrough, they devised the best install, the quickest and simplest way of getting me online and were able to look at my current equipment and determine it was suitable in quality to use their fiber optic equipment without the usual hem and haw upsell like Dish and Comcast try to do. Within a hour or so, they had installed everything under the house, nothing was disturbed, they wore appropriate clothing and didn't track the dust and debris back into the living quarters. That's a big deal. Matt appeared at the door as a third installer ( free install, did I say that enough? ) and tackled the interior connections while the other guys weathered the storm outside and got everything ( they even cleaned up the sad install drooping lines from Dish ) buttoned up, and made the call for Service locate due to a ground rod needed that Dish destroyed for grounding under the house unbeknownst to us. Stayton utilities made a quick showing and laid out the gas, sewer, electrical locations quickly. ( 24 hrs ) I can't see any other small community like mine having such true professionals that just get the job done as needed not have more positive reviews. Maureen, Marty, Mike and Matt brought forth what we needed to see, and after 14 years with Comcast. Maureen stated she'd include with the first mailing local "Welcome to the community brochures" and she did. Top notch quality, full business cards, fully identifiable employees with professional mannerisms and great looking service trucks is what we got. You won't beat that. read more

First thing is the customer experience is second to none! Lori helped me through getting the Fiber done and into the house. She was exceptional and explained how and when things can occur. I work remotely and this was needed as soon as It could be done. After a week we were online! I had been tethering to my cell phone and it was as bad as it could be with the carrier we are with. I found out during the installation that I have a dedicated Fiber to the gateway! This is unheard of as it is much more costly to install this way upfront but it saves service costs and time down the road as only one household could have a problem with this type of topology and allows for much quicker results if a problem does happen. I have to say they did this right! It is by far the fastest internet I have ever experienced! I have 500Mbps and I can not even imagine Gig speed. I run online meetings on WebEx and Teams and the sharing is Via VPN to our servers in the Bay Area and its like I am there. Epic! As for the 2 technicians ( Allen and Andy) that came to the house to get it installed and online. They were 2 of the most professional techs I have ever dealt with. Very Knowledgeable and efficient. I have owned and operated more than one Interconnect company in the Bay Area in the 80's and 90's and I wish I could have had these 2 on my crew's. I have literally employed hundreds of technicians and SCTC should be very proud and lucky to have them. Both of them spoke highly of the company and one of them has been with SCTC for decades so the Company Management seems to be doing right by them as well. SCTC has the best customer service I have ever experienced. Phone and internet both have 24/7 *local* support. We have called at 11:30 pm on a Friday night and had a tech walk us through setting up WiFi. When we bought a new router, the tech again supplied his expertise at a late hour, and we finished the set up in less than 10 minutes. Our phone and internet always work.
