If you like to wait in a crowded room full of 100+ strangers for a solid hour to get a lab drawn, then this is the place for you.

Went to Scripps Lab/Lane Ave., in Chula Vista yesterday, in and out in under 15 min! So unlike the Hillcrest office. Well worth the drive

The phlebotomist was also well mannered and made sure I felt okay throughout the blood draw, which is something I've never been offered at other places!

Long story short: I was scheduled for blood work at 8 a.m. for the week of April 17, 2006. Arrived…read moreat 7:55 am and was given access to the building and office by then. Walking in, I showed my prepaid label to the attendant and asked whether it was better to check in on a tablet or with her directly. The attendant responded dismissively, asking what I was doing there 5 minutes before my appointment, which made me feel undervalued as a customer. My experience was marred by her dismissive attitude, which made me feel unwelcome despite having prepaid for my bloodwork. I proceeded with a corporation report, and today, April 22, I received a call from Labcorp apologizing, explaining, and presenting her side of the facts: she was "surprised" because I showed up 5 minutes earlier, given that the area around is full of homeless people. I appreciated the acknowledgment and the effort to clarify the situation. Then Labcorp, through their employee, assumed I was a homeless person, even presenting the pre-paid label of my appointment. Take your conclusions from here.

I usually dread coming to do lab work and although I had to pay for street parking, got a bit lost due to the construction happening outside, meeting Sharon was a highlight. I barely felt the needle and chatting with her made the process painless! I'll definitely be coming back to this location for future blood work, they're by far the best in my book !

Small waiting room but multiple sturdy chairs Mari did a great job. Great bedside manner. Came back Wednesday. The person didn't have the best bedside manner. No name tag or badge. Was unable to get all of the blood so she called Mari in to help. The original girl came back to label the blood. They had me sign a piece of paper saying that the blood was labeled in front of me, but then didn't finish labeling the blood in front of me. So that was a little weird. Overall, it's a busy clinic that does a good job of getting you in and out

During my overextended stay in San Diego while helping my friend, I had to continue my self care and have had lab work done at this Hillcrest location which is next to Scripps Mercy Medical Center. Subterranean parking is available, convenient but for a fee and not validated by the lab. Quest Diagnostics had all my info already and the online appointment system makes things easy with less paperwork. After scheduling my appointment, go into the lab, check in using their kiosk and within minutes, the lab tech calls my name. The lab techs are professional, they have the surfaces clean and wear gloves. They sterilize instruments and my arm before the Jab which I cannot watch as I am very squeamish and might faint if I see all the amount of blood they draw out...Ouch! yikes!! I do wish they would have early morning appointments because when appointments are not until mid afternoon, the long stretch of fasting can make me weak and faint. Recently my health had diminished from some unexplainable reasons and hence lab work was needed and sometimes retested to determine accuracy. After multiple lab work results, nothing alarming resulted so, I am relieved and less worried, about my health but still feel fragile. Quest Diagnostics does get super busy, but they are organized, make an appointment to get expeditious service. Recommend

One of the advantages of living in San Diego is UCSD research. This is one of the new center to…read moreget the Early Test, which can detect HIV infection as early as one week after exposure. While tradition HIV testing like the Rapid Test detects HIV by detecting antibodies, the Early Test detects infection by detecting the virus. One can get both tests performed and both are FREE. Results of the standard Rapid Test will be given within 15 minutes while the Early Test results will take two weeks. The doctor will provide a personalized ID number along with a date to check for the results online (https://theearlytest.ucsd.edu/The_Early_Test/Results_of_The_Early_Test_HIV_Antibody_%26_HIV_Viral_Load_Testing_in_San_Diego,_California.html ) or by phone. For HIV testing at this site, I find it best to make an appointment. Find parking on the street; there's usually plenty within a three block radius on Park Blvd. Lead The Way is hard to miss, it's literally across from the Crypt (http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-crypt-san-diego-2#hrid:If-S8-HYtS143l9lASWtqQ/src:self ). Lead The Way is very different from the two other places I've been to get tested before (http://www.yelp.com/biz/ucsd-antiviral-research-center-san-diego#hrid:4JuCu7uiyaw-lTRY70QAuQ/src:self ). When they say they're trying to banish the sigma of HIV testing, they mean it. It's an intensely relax atmosphere. The decor is modern and definitely sets the mood they're going for. There's one computer station to surf the internet while waiting. I got in right away with my appointment and the whole thing took 30 minutes. After explaining the consent forms and procedure, they pricked my finger for the rapid test. The results are faster than the mouth swap by 10-20 minutes. During the 10-15 minutes waiting time for the results, the worker asked me further questions about my sexual practices and explained things if I needed it. It wasn't my first time at the rodeo, so I didn't really need much explanation. Then, I got my rapid results and was taken into a room to get my blood drawn for the Early Test. Done and done. PS Note that there are limits to every test and know what the results are telling you. While the Early Test detects recent infection well, the Rapid Test detects a wider time frame. It's important to pick the appropriate test for your possible exposure time frame. I like to do both for the overlap.
