Weird....no front desk employees...everything is self check-in on a computer.

Accessibility: NOT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE! if you drive here, you have to park in a parking garage they have, and pay $4. Then to get to the elevators you have to go down STAIRS.....you read that correctly....you have to use STAIRS to get to the elevators. NOT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE. Also there are zero staff members to help you check in for your bloodwork...continue reading to understand. - I came here around 3 PM on a Thursday and there was no wait time for a walk-in (no appointment). I had to check in by myself on a tablet, as there are NO OFFICE STAFF WORKING AT THE FRONT DESK...THE FRONT DESK LITERALLY HAD A METAL WALL COVERING IT. If you do not understand technology or tablets, do NOT come here. Other than this, the people who draw blood are good here, and quick! Definitely the worst Quest I have ever been to, but the staff taking blood were super kind, great care quality, once back there with them.

Horrible experience and will never go back to this lab location. Went in as a walk-in for a glucose test for my pregnancy and the wait was long especially after a holiday which is totally understandable and I understood. Once I went in for my beginning of the test one of the nurses told me to drink a sugary drink and they'd draw blood in an hour, "if it reaches 10:55am (5 minutes before the timer went off) please start knocking so we can not miss your draw". Was in the waiting room at 10:50am waiting to be called, started knocking and knocking harder from 10:55am-11:00am. A different nurse finally saw me as she was passing by and I had told her that the hour timer went off already and I had been knocking. She had already looked fed and up and she took me and took my blood it felt as if she put in the needle so hard but in my head I thought it was just me although days prior i had a draw with the ER on my other arm TWICE and it never hurt like how she drew it. I want to say 20 minutes later i took off my bandage and I have A BLOWN VEIN/HEMATOMA the size of a marble, its absolutely disgusting and it hurts. I understand it was a busy day and you may be angry but theres no reason to draw my blood with force and carelessness. Good thing it went down in size the next morning but i am still in pain. Having to endure this while pregnant causes unnecessary stress. (The pictures are from the day after. I was too disgusted and more in pain the day of to take pictures)

It was my first time at this quest location, and I wasn't thrilled about it, I thought it was the closest one to my house, and yes, but I was wrong, it's in Hillcrest around all the hospitals, parking was crazy, traffic was crazier, I couldn't find any on the street to park my car, and my Mother was on a walker, I am glad I got here super early to drive around and looking for one spot, finally I found one meter, because I refused to pay more than $4 for an appointment that probably last 15-20 minutes. Anyway our appointment was at 12:45 PM, but I checked in earlier, and still the process was faster than any other quest locations, we got back to our car at 12:25 PM and still have 33 minutes left, so my suggestion to you if you're going here, time yourself, be early, the sooner the better, I like the service here, but location wise, no PS: there's some parking spaces in the back alley and you can access thru the back entrance of quest without going thru the front of mercy medical, but make sure you have a disabled placard

This place is the worst, the nurse was rude, irritable and I ended up leaving as I did not feel comfortable in her.

One of the advantages of living in San Diego is UCSD research. This is one of the new center to…read moreget the Early Test, which can detect HIV infection as early as one week after exposure. While tradition HIV testing like the Rapid Test detects HIV by detecting antibodies, the Early Test detects infection by detecting the virus. One can get both tests performed and both are FREE. Results of the standard Rapid Test will be given within 15 minutes while the Early Test results will take two weeks. The doctor will provide a personalized ID number along with a date to check for the results online (https://theearlytest.ucsd.edu/The_Early_Test/Results_of_The_Early_Test_HIV_Antibody_%26_HIV_Viral_Load_Testing_in_San_Diego,_California.html ) or by phone. For HIV testing at this site, I find it best to make an appointment. Find parking on the street; there's usually plenty within a three block radius on Park Blvd. Lead The Way is hard to miss, it's literally across from the Crypt (http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-crypt-san-diego-2#hrid:If-S8-HYtS143l9lASWtqQ/src:self ). Lead The Way is very different from the two other places I've been to get tested before (http://www.yelp.com/biz/ucsd-antiviral-research-center-san-diego#hrid:4JuCu7uiyaw-lTRY70QAuQ/src:self ). When they say they're trying to banish the sigma of HIV testing, they mean it. It's an intensely relax atmosphere. The decor is modern and definitely sets the mood they're going for. There's one computer station to surf the internet while waiting. I got in right away with my appointment and the whole thing took 30 minutes. After explaining the consent forms and procedure, they pricked my finger for the rapid test. The results are faster than the mouth swap by 10-20 minutes. During the 10-15 minutes waiting time for the results, the worker asked me further questions about my sexual practices and explained things if I needed it. It wasn't my first time at the rodeo, so I didn't really need much explanation. Then, I got my rapid results and was taken into a room to get my blood drawn for the Early Test. Done and done. PS Note that there are limits to every test and know what the results are telling you. While the Early Test detects recent infection well, the Rapid Test detects a wider time frame. It's important to pick the appropriate test for your possible exposure time frame. I like to do both for the overlap.

Get yourself tested . Fast free and friendly. Wonderful…read more service for the community! John
