I found out about this place on TikTok because I'm starting to get into junk journaling and this place basically has everything you're looking for to at least get started. I was looking for random patterns of paper and they had paper packs for $4. I wanna say there was about maybe 40 or 50 pieces of paper in a pack. If you're into arts and crafts, they probably have something for you: sewing, crochet and knitting, stuff for educators and teachers, and honestly so much more you wouldn't even know you needed. I'd check their business hours before going, but it's in Westport and definitely worth the visit if you are into arts and crafts!

There are so many reasons to love Scraps, I don't even know where to begin! I can't quit telling people about this thrift store for craft supplies. I am a chronic hobbier, always trying something new. Scraps lets me try out a ton of new crafts without a huge upfront investment. I've bought fabric, beads, yarn, paint, and even knitting needles for every craft under the sun. I feel the prices are reasonable and the inventory is so unique. Of course, Scraps is also a great place to donate your items! Their mission helps people and the environment. I love any opportunity to reuse and limit consumption, so this is a perfect fit for me! Even if you are not sure you will find something (unlikely) this place is worth checking out.

Scraps is 100% my favorite place in Kansas City. I am not exaggerating when I say I come here at least once a week. Scraps is a creative reuse center. Everything that is sold is donated, so everything costs cents or a couple of dollars. And they truly have everything -- craft supplies, frames, decor, storage items, almost anything you could think of in a huge warehouse. You can donate leftover craft supplies, and they have a list on their website of things they're looking for and donations they won't accept. Scraps does tons of classes and educational opportunities as well. I've taken a papermaking class!! Absolutely loved the experience. There's a make-and-take room where you can craft and use their supplies for a small price. Not only are they keeping craft supplies and other items out of landfills, they also have a strong mission to help unhoused people. Unhoused people can work at scraps and receive a meal and survival supplies for their time. And they bring meals downtown on the weekends. I love this place so much. I am here constantly and I am buying things here constantly. Some of my best holiday decor is from here. There's a lot of parking in the gated lot next to the building, and the door is next to the garage doors off of the parking lot. Sometimes there are so many people that you have to street park because it's so popular on the weekends! Please go to scraps for all your crafting and decorating ne

What a fabulous idea!!! I love the reuse of all the leftover project remnants!!! It was bigger than I anticipated and well organized! Need rubber stamps, florals, fabric, yarn, paint, postcards, bins, knitting needles, etc. My daughter ( a textile science major) was in her element. You can even pay with a card! Donate your extra stuff and help a great cause! I am interested in checking out their volunteer opportunities as this is really a mission I can get behind & impact!

I found out about Scraps KC from one of my friends. "You should go there, you would like it." I make journals out of old books, not necessarily junk journals, but I can make those too. I constantly run out of paper and things. Not any more! This store is a goldmine for anyone who likes to make crafts. They take donations of craft items and sell them. I bought a big bag of things and only paid $12. As I was leaving, the woman at the counter mentioned "collage bins." Well, I'll be back.

I originally started with this company last year and had a fantastic experience, found a job…read morequickly and everything was great. However, that job didn't work out and when I worked with them again...2nd time around it was a nightmare. They went through new management and if I can give this company zero stars I would. AVOID AT ALL COSTS AS ITS NOTHING BUT A WASTE OF TIME. I got matched with April, who is also the "manager" of the company. You would think working directly with the manager that you would be in good hands- WRONG! I have been working with this company OVER 4 months, and only met TWICE! The first appointment was a nightmare as she did a no call no show, and then tried to call me the liar when I have email proof of the scheduled time/place that SHE suggested. As someone with a disability and a survivor of domestic violence it was extremely traumatic to have so one calling me and screaming at me calling me a liar despite the emailed proof. The 2nd appointment went okay...however we were scheduled for 1 hour, the same day/time every week and April the manager literally cancelled every single appointment...always the day of, literally 2 hours to 15 mins prior to the scheduled time we were supposed to meet. She never offered me another day to make up the missed appointment or offered to add extra time to our appointment scheduled. Not only did we only meet twice, I still don't even have an updated resume...she said she didn't know how to update my current one. She did make me a resume that looked absolutely horrible. My city was wrong, the dates of past employment was wrong, and all of the bullets did not live up. It looked like she just slipped it together, even my address was wrong! When I suggested to just use my resume that was made prior, she said she didn't know how to update that template and demanded that someone else help me with it. She didn't listen to me, and had zero communication with me. And the fact that she cancelled over 11 scheduled appointments was just a waste of time. Never an apology. I suggested that I have no problem meeting with another staff member from her team and she never even emailed me back. She was very rude, and literally hurt my feelings because of how disrespectful she was (as the manager) to put her other clients before me. Even the 2 times we DID meet, she was telling me that I "don't have to schedule another appointment". I don't even own a computer...I have been jobless since 8/1/24, and I also have a learning disability...I also have rent to pay for! Zero communication, completely disrespectful and violated my rights as a client that I had with "The Whole Person". She often would cancel and blame it on another client despite me communicating via email explaining to her that I really need her to start showing up for our scheduled appointments. April is extremely rude and unprofessional, it was a complete waste of time. I never been treated with so much disrespect from someone who is supposed to be representing an organization that works with people with disabilities. DO NOT USE THIS ORGANIZATION! No wonder my old job coach that I used last year left the company.

Some were selected by myself or in partnership with the CEO/CFO, some as part of a formal RFP process, but at the end of the day I would say that all the big players do things largely the same. They may dress up their data analytics a bit differently than the next guy, or another might have a slightly more robust management toolbelt around a specific focus such as plan modeling, managing their own captive groups for one or more lines of business, or an approach to pharmacy benefits than others dominating the marketspace... but at the end of the day, there is often precious little which truly separates them. (Aside from their Marketing spend, that is!) With The Miller Group, their approach is elegant in its simplicity. Having known Jayson Cuba for a number of years, and now with the opportunity to also partner with Dan Harrison, Erin Tucker, Tracy Johnson, and Shelby Hoffman for the past few years, I describe their differentiator to other HR leaders and executives as having every bit of the product/market knowledge, all of the data analytics, all of the contemporary thinking around employee benefits & risk management, and all of the customer service of the big name brokers and more... and it is in this "and more" section where they truly separate from the pack and pull away to command the race. As a family-owned business, their rock-solid principles (grounded in faith) are evident in all the entire team at The Miller Group does. There are no empty promises of premium savings only for the sake of gaining a sale, calls and emails are returned promptly, and each and every interaction is polite, personable, and professional. There are no call trees, no endless transfers, no endless times waiting on hold, and no pointing fingers at carriers or TPAs when challenges arise. Regardless of the day or time, no matter if the issue is major or minor, we are always made to feel as though a call from SkillPath to a member of The Miller Group team is THE most important item in front of them. (I won't name names... but NONE of the names topping those lists that pop up when one does an internet search of largest benefits brokers EVER could day-in-and-day-out deliver THAT level of service!) When you read their tag line that Miller Cares... they really do! The Miller Group cares about the health & wellbeing of my employees and their covered dependents, The Miller Group cares about simplifying benefits design, deployment & administration for me and my team in HR, and The Miller Group genuinely cares about the success of our company.
