I called the gang at Capital Junk and talked with Justin who got me all set up for an appointment to send 2 trucks and 2 men to cart it all away. Throughout the process Justin kept me informed and aware of when they were arriving and how long things would take. As we live in the country about an hour drive from Ottawa there was an additional $100 fee per load, which seemed fair given the 2 hour round trip just to get here and back. Paul and Coran arrived at the specified timing and worked like beavers to sort and haul. Despite the fact that it was snowing hard they worked steady and tirelessly. It took them 2 days and 4 truck loads but the results were amazing. Thoughtful, pleasant and respectful, these 2 young men were a credit to their employer and I really enjoyed their wit and conversation which they never used to slack off....they just kept working away through it all. The cost seemed reasonable given the tipping fees, gas and time involved and it was all done swiftly and efficiently. Highly recommend.

The young and seemingly inexperienced men were late, then they went downstairs where I had taken the items out and were therefore easily accessible. Studying the stacked washer/dryer, they proceeded to make a phone call. Then they told me, although with apologies, they couldn't take it, because they didn't have any straps or tools with them???? What???? I told them I had straps and plenty of tools and could assist them if necessary. They proceeded to tell me that their manager told them not to bother...someone could get hurt or the walls could get damaged. Bottom line, they simply didn't want to do the job and it's obvious these guys were inexperienced. I realize it's hard to get good help since COVID but come on! I had to move the items back out of the way until I could have them removed. I booked "Junk Ninjas" the next day. They were $65 cheaper and had no problem removing all the items carefully without hesitation.

Horrible Company - Do not use…read more I have no idea where to begin. This was the most horrifying experience I've ever had and I have gone through Office moves. I even move to a different province with less stress. Young inexperienced movers. They were very nice and polite but had no idea how to move furniture, we had to help with several items. No moving equipment like moving belts. They did have a dolly which wasn't much help getting things up and down the stairs. They spent more time looking things over and scratching their heads wondering how to move items then they did actually moving them. That probably explains the extra 2 hours it took to move just beds, dressers and living room furniture. Thankfully, we had already moved all the boxes and smaller items ourselves. I can't even imagine how long it would have taken them if we had not done that. I had to remind them several times to wrap furniture with blankets and NOT put packing tape on wood. They broke a piece of glass on a cabinet. I sent them an email with pictures as instructed, they said I would hear back in two weeks....It's been 3 months with no response. I have followed up with several emails that have gone unanswered. I called and the person that answers the phone is only able to book moves, she can't provide any information to reach anyone else within the company. Sounds pretty shady to me. Wish I had known that before booking.
