Review # 80
Location: Scout & Cellar is based in Dallas, TX, but they work with farms and vendors all over the US and the world to bring their wines to customers.
Info: I attended a wine tasting at The Union in OKC, OK, on 28 Apr 2021, with a representative from the Cellar, she is based in OKC. They started 3 years ago.
Wine Tasting: She gave us 4 different wines, starting with a lovely Chardonnay, called 1. Pip, The Greeter, with a pic of a golden retriever on it. It's a white wine Chardonnay with soft notes of fruit, buttery, not dry, very mildly sweet, but the others didn't think it was sweet like I did. 2. The 2nd wine was Book Binder's Apprentice, which is a rosé. This is from vineyards in Mendocino County, CA. It had a mild dry taste, with some fruity notes. 3. The 3rd wine was Gallivant Red Wine. It was dry and I didn't taste any fruity notes. Not my favorite one. 4. Soleil Vent Âme, a Bordeaux Cabernet Sauvignon. This has a purple color with a buttery taste and mild notes of berry and fruit.
The ones I liked best were the 1st one, the white Chardonnay, then the 2nd one, the rosé.
Overall info: Their wines are clear crafted. The wines are made with natural sugar from the grapes, with no extra sugar added. So it's Keto and Paleo. They contain less sulfites than normal wine, usually less than 50 ppm of sulfites; and always less than or about 100 ppm. So their wines should have less chance of giving headaches or migraines from drinking them. This is great news for people like me who get a plethora of migraines, especially from drinking red wines.
They have a wine club called Scout Circle, where you can get discounts on buying their wines.
