We got a quote for whole house painting from Scott's Painting based on the stellar yelp reviews. You all were right on! We hired him on the spot. He is very knowledgeable and I like his no-nonsense, great attitude. He was very through in prep and was done in 2 days. I appreciate he communicated via text so questions and replies were quick, and no delays. The process was easy and painless and we love the end result. read more

Well just used Scott for a large interior painting job in my house. Very professional, fantastic help to get everything ready, prompt neat and a great price . I will be using Scott's painting for all my paintwork and would be 100% pleased to recommend Scott to anyone who requires a fantastic service . read more

The main reason I picked Scott was because of his personality on the phone. I felt he was a very good fit for me. Scott and Juan did an exceptional job painting the outside of our home. I had 4 estimators come to our home, and Scott's inspection lasted longer than the other three people. Plus he found some problems during his time walking around the house that the other 3 estimators did not see. read more

Scott and Juan were prompt and so hard working in painting the exterior of our house. They started every day at 7:30am and were so diligent and focused in doing a good job for us. Scott's pricing was fair and reasonable. The painting completion was done within 3 days which mean these 2 guys worked their butts off for me! Scott is very creative in painting a hard to reach area over my 16x24 pergola , and is was so resourceful in opening a stuck side door of the garage and painting that as well. This is a business and I will hire them in the future for any project that requires painting by a professional. Scott ....if you need a reference have them call me! read more

RETIRED! RETIRED! RETIRED! I've used Scott's Painting several times through the years, but with my last call for a full exterior house paint I discovered he's taken a permanent vacay. Sigh. I wish him all the best, but it's back to hunting for just the right contractor for me. He'll be missed. read more

All the excellent reviews are justified! Scott and Juan did an wonderful job on the exterior paint job on my home. He is very easy to work with and his pricing is very competitive. I highly recommend him! read more

Scott's Painting did a great job painting the interior of my place. Called right back after I called for an estimate. They were right on time during the days they were scheduled to do the work. Scott is the owner and he is the one doing the work along with his employees. He cares about the quality of his work. read more

I had a wonderful experience engaging Scott for a recent project (interior walls, but not entire house) at our home in Dublin. He was readily available, straight forward to deal with and has a wonderfully friendly demeanor that makes you want to work with him. Scott's quote was competitive and his team did a fantastic job of executing exactly what was asked. I had botched a patch job around the house and they basically made it disappear! They also went beyond expectations and touched up a few scratches that I had ignored. Scott would be my choice for the next project as well as the one I would recommend to friends and family. read more

Absolute joy to work with. Was very communicative during the whole process, knew his stuff, had an eye for detail, and finished very quickly. Plus just an absolutely awesome person. I wish everyone was as great to work with. read more

Scott's the best painter I've ever had. Quick to respond to a request for an estimate, details included in the bid, excellent tips on special circumstances for best effect, keeps to the timetable given, not only stays on site and inspects for perfection, but encourages client to walk the entire building with him before final payment to ensure customer satisfaction. Plus, a great personality and if requested, guidance in color choices. read more

Had a smallish interior commercial paint job. Scott knocked it out in a few hours. Got 3 quotes, 2 quotes on-site and one by phone. Scott had a good price and could start within a few days. Great job and easy to work with. read more

Scott is awesome! He was super responsive to my initial call and came to our home with a few days to give us a quote. He sent a proposal within a day or two of visiting our home and gave us a fair price. He did an excellent job on our home exterior paint job. He came every day around 7:30 am and worked into the afternoon with very few breaks. He works very hard! He cleaned up his materials every day. In certain areas, he even applied three coats of paint. We received multiple bids and chose Scott due to his years of experience in business, Yelp reviews, responsiveness, and friendliness. read more

Scott has painted our house twice. He did a fantastic job and very reasonable price.

I looked up painters online, and saw Scott with a lot of fantastic reviews. I called Scott, he picked up right away, and came by for a quote same day! He was super friendly, very professional, and really knew what he was talking about. We felt like we were in good hands! Price was great as well. He did a FANTASTIC job, he painted the entire exterior of my house in Livermore including a metal overhang in the back yard. Just fantastic, we are super happy! I recommend Scott's Painting, he was awesome. Thanks Scott! read more

Scott's Painting recently painted the exterior of our home and like many folks, it was a fairly stressful undertaking for my wife and I. We wanting to change our lighting, add a new front door, pretty much anything we could do to heighten our stress level. Just to give you an idea, Scott's bid the job in March and the painting didn't start until the middle of August. The delays were all our own doing; the painter was very understanding and accommodated all of our indecision. Scott's Painting is a two man crew and it's hard to fathom how he manages the schedule changes we put him through, not perfect but when we finally settled on a date he was there. There were several changes we made during the painting process and he happily agreed to them or provided a reason for not including it. His attitude and demeanor was one of the reasons we chose Scott's to begin with. It just felt personal and proved to e just that, we got the sort of attention one would expect from a small business. Loved his attention to detail, willingness to explain his process and we are extremely happy with the outcome of the job. Personally I think the guy loves what he does and genuinely cares about his customers. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him and happily have Scott's back for future work. Nick read more

Scott painted the exterior of our house and did a great job. We had a couple areas where the grain on our wood siding opened up and Scott scraped, sanded and primed to address the problem areas. Would definitely recommend Scott to others. read more

We had Scott paint our house in mid July based on recommendation from my father-in-law. We were getting started on remodeling, and just wanted someone who can do the job and as you can tell, most of the painters on yelp have 5 stars, so we wanted to go with someone we can trust. The first part of the job was not bad, we had to point out a couple things at the end like the lines along the ceiling not straight and such, he came back and fixed it right away, so that was good. And Scott said he'll come back and help us do touch up after our remodeling is done. And then it took us about a month and half to remodel the entire house. We took out all the carpet and put in hardwood floors. And quite a lot of other work, such as putting in an island, new back splash in the kitchen etc. When our contractor is finally done, we called Scott to come back for an estimate on the baseboards and touch-up paint. Our contractor patched up all of the baseboards and even textured the places that needed touch up, so all we need a fresh coat of paint. Scott gave us a quote and it was somewhat higher than we anticipated, so after some discussion with my husband, we decided to not use him and do it ourselves, and I believe this is what triggered all the negative experience from then on. on 9/6/13, we started painting the baseboard ourselves. They didn't turn out bad, but we wanted to move in right away, and if we continue to paint by ourselves, it'll certainly take a lot longer. So I called Scott back, and asked if he can come back to do it. He agreed and said he can come on 9/10 (Tuesday), and will give me a call on Tuesday afternoon when he comes over. 9/10 (Tuesday), I didn't get a call until 3:30 pm, so I called Scott and asked if he will still come, the answer was no. I get it, he needs to squeeze us in the last minute, it's fine. And we agreed on he'll come on Wednesday. 9/11 (Wednesday), my husband took time off work, so he can open the door for Scott when he comes over in the afternoon. Waited till late in the afternoon, no call from Scott, none answered when I tried to call him. Finally calls me back pretty late in the afternoon, and informed me he was having equipment problems at another job and cannot come to my house again. He also spent about 10 minutes explaining to me it's our fault we cancelled him in the first place. But we hired him back... He also repeatedly said he wouldn't take the job cuz it's so small if it were other ppls. I expressed my gratitude to him willing to paint for us, but please let me remind everyone, we were going to pay him, not have him do it for free...Anyhows, at this point, he told me Thursday is a possibility. 9/12 (Thursday) My husband and I both took time off work again, and waited till later in the afternoon. No call, no nothing. We've given up on Scott showing up at all at this point. I'm just too tired of trying to schedule another time with him, take time off work, and have him not show up again. You know what they say, third time is a charm. And that's why there are three stars missing from this review. We really liked the service we received at the beginning, but due to the three no-shows, I feel like the other yelpers deserve to know what we went through. I do think Scott is a great person and do try his best, but unfortunately, there are just way too much money to make else where than caring about our tiny baseboard job. read more

We contacted Scott Smiley for an estimate for exterior painting. He did not respond to his online request for an appointment (honestly I find this consistent with contractors - why have an online submission form if you aren't going to ever respond to it?). He did respond to my follow up email a week later and we set up an appointment. Three hours after our scheduled appointment I got an email from him telling me he wouldn't be able to make it and set up another appointment for the following day. Three hours where we could be doing anything other than waiting around for someone to show up. It takes about 30 second to call and say you can't make it. He did show the next day and walked around the property, taking notes, listening to what we wanted, explaining what prep work would need to be done, etc. He said he would send an estimate in a few days. That was over a month ago. So far no estimate, no further contact. Fine - if you don't want the job just send a quick email saying you are unable to submit an estimate. You're too booked up, the job is too challenging, whatever. Especially when you have my phone number, email address and home address - any one of those communication channels would have been appreciated. We had bids from two other painting contractors all facing the same challenges with being busy before the holidays and dealing with uncertain weather but both of them showed up on time for their appointments, were responsive and submitted bids within a day. They were very respectful of our time. read more

Scott's Painting is great. I wish all contractors were as professional and consistent as him. Originally we hired Scott's Paining to paint and re-texture the interior of my house a couple of years ago. He had reasonable pricing and was really consultative in helping us figure out what was going to work as part of our remodel. He and his team arrived when they said they would and cleaned up at the end like they hadn't been there. His lines were very clean. The work was fantastic! It was a no-brainer when we decided to have our exterior painted. He came in to take a look at the job. He talked about some of the stucco repairs that he would do along with some of the sealant he would use to help protect our house. Again Scott's quote was reasonable. He and his team arrived when they said that would and finished ahead of schedule! Most importantly, Scott is a really friendly person. He arrived with a smile in his face and just seemed so positive and fun to be around. Bottom line Scott's Paining is: Professional Friendly Patient Resonably priced Really good at what they do and just all around awesome!!! read more

Update: Yesterday I received a call form Scott who wanted to make things right per my previous post. Admittedly, I fixed most of the issues I've seen after the touchup was done; it was not difficult work, it just was a lot of smart things. However, Scott's willingness to get things corrected as well as valid fact that the contractor I had was impeding on his work has made me realize that perhaps I was not completely fair with my previous review. Either way, 4 stars for Scott and I'll definitely consider his services for any future work I may need. read more

One word: Fantastic! Scott returned phone calls, showed up on time for both the estimate and paint job. I had a small paint job, and the top 9 recommended painters on yelp, didn't really want my business because the job was so small. Scott, recognizing that I really needed the work done, took the time to make sure that I was a 100% satisfied customer. I can not speak highly enough of Scott's Painting. Very professional, brought all the necessary equipment and supplies to get the job done. And they did it super fast without scaraficying quality work. I would call Scott again in a heartbeat. Thank you, Scott and Jose for our new living room!!! read more

Scott's painting just finished painting the exterior of our home. Every step of the process was executed in a professional manner. Scott, the company owner, is hands-on and involved in the entire process. Scott's bid was reasonable, he did what he said he was going to do and he and his team were extremely organized and professional in their work and the job results. The house looks great! I called Scott based on the other Yelp remarks and he delivered the 5 star results that several other satisfied customers gave him. Scott and his team will be called again when we need more painting done. He did an outstanding job. Thank you Scott! Denise-Pleasanton read more

Scott and Juan did an EXCELLENT job painting our one-story house. Both are extremely detailed oriented. Scott (owner) does a great job in getting back to his customers via e-mail or text. Scott and his team did a fantastic job for our home interior paint job with crown molding. We have to say that this gets as good as it gets b/c we were literally displaced by another painter who did not show-up the day we scheduled with him for the job as well as given him a deposit (we got the deposit back thank goodness). We used the webiste Service Magic to hunt for painters with good ratings in our area. Scott was one of them and he called immediately. As luck would have it, he scheduled us in the next day as he rounded up his team. The beauty of this whole deal was he came in less than the original painter we contracted with as well as finished in less than half the time while crown molding an additional room for us too! We recommend Scott and his team. They were very focused on their task at hand. We love the new paint in our house and the crown molding perfectly sets it off. We want to schedule Scott for some work in our home! He really did save us as we were completely displaced by another painter. A knight in shining armour! read more

Scott was very responsive, super professional and he and his crew did a high quality job painting the exterior of our house. We hadn't had the house painted in about 10 years, and after almost 30 years of the same color scheme, we wanted to change colors. Scott and his team power washed the house, did all the necessary prep work on filling in cracks, etc. and did an outstanding job of transforming our house into its new colors- all in about 2 1/2 days! I give him and his team my highest recommendation. Ian M.- Pleasanton read more

We needed our 2-story living room painted quickly. I reached out to Scott based on Yelp and Nextdoor reviews and he immediately returned my call, came over to do an estimate that day, and completed the work the morning after. He was prompt, straightforward, courteous, and did great work with only one coat and some touch-ups the next day after everything dried. We will definitely reach out to Scott if we need anything else painted in the future. read more

Scott, the owner, and Juan did a great job on our 1900 sq ft, two story home. We had a written estimate in hand within 24 hours of contacting Scott. They showed up every day promptly at 7:30 and left at 3:30 pm. It took them three days to give our place two coats of paint. They were incredibly neat (no paint drips anywhere) and very professional (humble, I might add). The price was lower than two other quotes, and the company is licensed and insured! Wouldn't hesitate to use them again. read more

Scott helped me with repairing and painting my exterior walls, trims and doors. My house is over 5,000 sq feet. I met 4 other companies/contractors and decided to proceed with Scott, based on his approach, attitude and price. He definitely went above and beyond. Thank you Scott and crew, for an awesome job on our crown molding and paint job. It's always refreshing to find a local business that is honest and delivers as promised. Scott and his team were courteous, professional and most importantly, did excellent work at our house. This is not like some businesses where the owner drops off a bunch of guys who don't speak english in the morning and comes back at the end of the day to check their work. Scott paints and oversees the entire job. He even came back a few days later to touch up some areas. If you are considering crown molding do not hesitate - the carpentry work was excellent and exceeded our expectations. Will definitely use them again. read more
