We should have asked up front about his rates, but other services have offered it up front before agreeing to come out, and we got complacent and ended up with a $400+ bill for 'weekend' rates. It just like it was a surprisingly high bill that jumped out at us after he did the work. That's on us I suppose, just be prepared to spend money, and don't hire on the weekends or after 4PM if you have the time to do so, in order to save some money. Can't really speak to the quality of work, since what he did was fairly simple, though his expertise did confirm that a replacement was needed.

The light in the garage was flickering in and out like a creepy scene out of a David Lynch movie. My husband's and my eyes widened in horror. What it would take to get an electrician out to our house on a holiday? Was this a major problem with the electrical panel or was this faulty wiring in the wall? Was this a fire hazard? How much would this cost to fix? We crossed our fingers and called Nick, and he answered the call right away. He was very reassuring, and explained to us that it might be an electrical problem outside the house. He asked us to reach out to National Grid and to call him back when things were back up and running. Nick was right. A neighbor's tree was rubbing against the power line attached to our house, and the electric company was able to address it right away. (National Grid gets an honorable mention here for the quick response time.) We called Nick back to thank him and he appreciated us closing the loop. This is a rare instance where I'm giving a company a 5-star review for a service they *didn't* have to provide. Nick will be the first call we'll make when we need a helping hand!

The team provided prompt service, was knowledgeable, and delivered quality service at a fair price.read more

Most guys don't want "small jobs" but Chris gets the "big picture", he is not looking for the one time hire but a partnership that you can count on for years to come! Yes he can wire like many guys but that is not what sets him apart, it's his cleanliness, attention to detail and communication. If Chris says he will be there he will be there, if something comes up and he can't make it or will be late he will call and let you know. Cannot recommend anymore highly, he is a true gentleman.

Brad squeezed me in last minute to figure out the problem and set expectations on the size of the job. Because it was the weekend, he scheduled me for the first thing on Monday morning. The job required cutting some holes to get the wiring through but he patched everything up without leaving the holes exposed. This was a nice touch and completely unexpected/welcomed. They're genuinely decent guys and like what they do. They may not be for everyone but that's fine. They're really not the cheapest option but they did the work in a time frame that made sense for me. I can never get electricians to follow through on their quotes so this was huge to me. We didn't want to spend weeks coordinating and appreciated they could fit our job in in under 2 weeks. My only complaint is that they put Home Whiz stickers everywhere they went... on my electrical box and heating system. When you're paying for a job in the $$$$ range, a little bit of tact is appreciated. You obviously got my business... don't push it.

He assured me in the letter that he really was an attorney. Do real attorneys have to do that? He also asked me to call him. Funny, last time I called his number, someone who sounded exactly like Howard Oven picked up. Sadly, I know Howard's voice very well because of all the harassing phone calls he made to me. If you read "not recommended" reviews here or on his "H.O. Services" profile, you will see that this is his normal m.o. What Howard does not seem to have grasped is that if you do not want bad reviews, you should not treat your customers badly. He also seems unaware of the fact that there is nothing wrong in writing bad things about a company if those things are true.
