I'd never felt compelled to write about my experience with a physician's office until I met Dr. Barttelbort and his staff. In August of 2014 I found out I had the BRCA-1 gene mutation. Those of you who know Dr. Scott Barttelbort know he is La Jolla's top plastic surgeon and the yearly choice of top plastic surgeons when asked where they would send family members. This isn't so much about Dr. B. as it is his associate Donna Eldredge. First a bit of background. Dr. B. has been treating me for nearly 15 years. I came to him the victim of two botched surgeries, and he was able to reconstruct my neck and chin to give me back the confidence I had so thoroughly lost. However, as the years went on, I needed more to keep me looking my best to feel confident at work. Additional surgery was not a good option. I asked Donna to treat me with dermal fillers for volume loss and facial contouring in addition to fine lines and wrinkles. Donna is a licensed esthetician and injection nurse who has worked side by side with Dr. B. for many years and constantly consults with him to get the very best results for your unique issues. For example, she filled in my temples which lose volume as we age. Never thought of that, but really an improvement! Best decision of my life! The results are instantaneous and miraculous. Both subtle and spectacular! The fillers are cumulative, getting noticeably better with every treatment. A note here: This is an art and Donna is an artist. Such a great experience at Dr B's. I'm in my mid thirties and went in for a consult to make sure I can start aging gracefully and the way I want to. I came in and everyone was so friendly, did some photos and then consulted with Dr B. He is so kind and warm, I explained what I am most self conscious about and he made recommendations for both short term and long term success. I thought I was going to just get Botox but after consulting with him he suggested light filler to achieve the results I wanted. Also suggested I try Juevue since I've had Botox in the past. Donna came in and did my injections and did the most gentle injections I've ever had, I was so impressed, some of them I barely felt. The results were absolutely horrific. one small boob (my own) and one large boob located approximately in the center of my chest. Dr. Barttelbort (Dr. "B") and his all-star staff are as good as it gets! They are second to none and I am so thankful to have found them! After my second son, my breasts shrunk and drooped and I was very unhappy with my appearance. However, I was also apprehensive about getting breast augmentation surgery because I never wanted to have fake looking boobs. My husband was also terrified for multiple reasons. From the moment we met Dr. B, our worries were lifted. He spent time getting to know us and although the process can be uncomfortable, it never felt that way with him. He is so caring and comforting! Dr. B met with us on a few occasions to be sure he understood exactly what we wanted. But honestly, I think Dr. B knew what we wanted better than we did! I also needed a lift and he explained he would do everything he could to minimize my scarring. I came to Dr. Barttelbort because I had two breast implants that had ruptured. I had the original implants done some 20 years ago and had not thought much about them until it became apparent that they had to be replaced. I was a bit nervous as far as how the outcome would be since I was quite bit older than when they were originally placed and was very concerned about how they would look. Upon a glowing recommendation from Dr.Hyde (also a top notch surgeon ), I visited Dr. B for a consult. I was impressed with Dr. B's calm,confident manner and caring attitude. He listened and responded to all of my concerns. His staff was equally attentive and caring. I ended up having him perform my surgery. All I can say is ...wow. Surgery is never easy but this time, I must say, I had no pain and the results were outstanding! The implants look just wonderful ... so much better than the originals!!! I am about 5 weeks out ..no problems, the scars are fading and I cannot believe how well and how fast that I have healed! I have had other procedures done at other offices and have not encountered the degree of care and skill Dr. B and his staff have exhibited. They care about you just as much after the surgery as before. They are there to answer any questions and all are very professional and knowledgeable.
