This practice site is wonderful! I came July of last year to get consultation for traditional braces, and the experience was quite pleasant. Fast forward to today (after getting my wisdom teeth removed) I had my braces put on. I want to highlight that the associate I had working on me was great - she would ask me periodically if I'm okay and comfortable; which really goes far for me. She took an additional ~5 - 10 min to counsel me thoroughly on how to properly manage my oral care moving forward now that I have braces. I was referred to this practice from my general dentist when I mentioned at my annual cleaning last year that I wanted braces. I got my braces done almost 10 years ago and my experience was amazing! I recently just came back to get some work done and almost everyone is still there!! Aww man, it made me feel like I was at home! Because when you enroll in braces? You will continue to see them for either 1 year or 2 depending on how much work your teeth need. The place is clean and up to date. You can park in the Whole Foods. Due to Covid they want you to wait in your car and they will text you when it's time. The front desk staff are nice and welcoming. You can do payment plans with your braces and they take most insurances you just have to call. Dr. Scott is one doctor that sees all but you will have other friendly staff working on your mouth as well! He is busy and well booked so make sure you get Your appointments in when you know what date works best for you! So worth it! read more

I've been coming to Dr. Scott for a little over a year and I must say I love this place. The staff is friendly & professional. The environment is modern with a comforting feel. The open floor plan lacks privacy but it's ok. We're all here for the same thing. I came here based on the recommendation of a co-worker. I thought I was gonna get Invisalign but based on my needs I went into regular braces (I got the clear ones! No silver for me!) the administrative staff help me set up payments that work for me. While I'm down to my last few months now, I feel like the staff has provided consistent good service. Dr. Scott' pleasant demeanor makes it very easy to communicate with him! This review is long overdue. Dr. Scott and his team are simply amazing! I had previously visited another orthodontist who recommended that I have surgery to remove a piece of bone to correctly align my bite. However, during that same time my sister was one of Dr. Scott's patients and after seeing his work, I decided to get a consultation at Scott Ortho. Dr. Scott's treatment plan did not involve surgery (thankfully) and the timeline to wear my braces was considerably less. After my consultation, I immediately scheduled my installation appointment. Within the first six weeks, I began to notice results. I've completed my treatment today!!!!! It's been an amazing ride and my smile is better then I ever imagined. I couldn't have chosen a better place to come. I had a jaw surgery that needed finishing work with orthodontics. I was terrified at the thought of a surgery to break my jaw. Dr. Scott worked with my surgeon and helped develop my treatment plan. He was always available to answer my questions. He was very Patient and was willing to explain things to me multiple times. I knew exactly what to expect which lowered my Anxiety. He showed a level of compassion and sympathy throughout my surgery process. He even checked on me during my recovery. His staff is amazing, friendly, professional and the list goes on. If it were possible to give minus stars, I would. Maybe things have changed since I was there. I saw him in an effort to straighten my bottom teeth after already having a botched job years earlier. He rushed through the procedure and then put on a permanent retainer, but put it on CROOKED. So after spending thousands of dollars on my teeth, I now have bottom teeth that are on a VERY OBVIOUS SLANT. Years later when I went back to him for a retainer for my top teeth (only because he already had the molds), he was shocked to see me, because he knew he had done a sloppy job. read more

The enthusiasm Dr. Scott displays about bettering his clients smile is something that can not be rehearsed. I Love Scott Orthodontics! Last summer I finally decided to get a consultation for both Invisalign and braces and was referred to Dr. Stuart Scott by a friend. Georgette walked me through the different options between braces and Invisalign. Next was my consult with Dr. Scott, I told him that my dentist had recommended Invisalign. He said for my issues Invisalign wasn't an option. Finally an orthodontist who wasn't trying to up sale me on Invisalign. It was the best referral ever! I walked out of there that day with braces. What has endeared me to Dr. Scott was his honesty and his willingness to answer all of your questions and concerns. Thanks to Dr. Scott and his staff my braces journey has been a trauma free. I would stay away from this practice based purely on my customer service issues. Seems like others here have raised bedside manner issues with the doctor. My customer service issues (chronologically): -When trying to book an appointment during their vacation days, the message wasn't updated from the last vacation so it was impossible to tell when the doctor would be returning from vacation -When they returned from vacation they failed to follow up with me, though I had left two voicemail messages -They indicated that they would call me when a orthodontics consult opened up, no calls for a month and a half -When I actually go in for my appointment the cost specialist was apparently never notified that I wanted to transfer my Invisalign case to them, transferring allow you to limit the cost of a new treatment. I had mentioned this specifically several times over the phone and over email with the staff. They're not willing to call my previous provider to transfer my case. -Dr. Scott won't remove the previous posts already on my teeth because he doesn't want to handle work by other orthodontists, the solution apparently is to go to my primary dentist to have them remove the posts. I think it's his perogative, but it's not very customer friendly to require me to go to another provider when other orthodontists have indicated they would be happy/able to remove the posts as part of a new Invisalign treatment. read more

Top notch customer service. Dr. Scott replaced a permanent retainer when I first moved to MD. Unbeknownst to me or him, one tiny piece of cement had a little divot. My tongue was frequently sore due to touching the divot. However, I ignored the discomfort, and soon got so busy with work, that I didn't bother to return to the orthodontist to find out if the ongoing discomfort was normal. Almost a year later, when my work slowed down, I decided to make an appointment and discuss my concern. Dr. Scott found the source of irritation and repaired the spot. He built goodwill by fixing the divot and then repairing a piece of cement that had broken off -- without charge. That's the kind of professional care I can get behind! read more

My daughter began her braces treatment 6 years ago at the age of 7 with Dr. Scott, his office is very professional, and welcoming. Dr. Scott works very well with children, my daughter was always very comfortable with her orthodontist. She just completed her braces treatment and now has a beautiful straight smile. I can't say enough about the care that I received at Scott Orthodontics! They are professional, caring and knowledgeable. I am a working professional and appreciate the appointment system and reminders. They always respect my time, I could schedule appointments over a lunch break without concern. I had a parent who became sick during my treatment. Many years later, one of the staff members who remembered that my mom and I had both been treated asked about my dads health. The practice feels like a family. Dr. Scott has had 1,000 of patients but somehow he manages to remember that my mom and aunt were my referrals. He is fantastic. I took advantage of financing options with my treatment and my the finance office worked with my insurance to recover the portion that they covered. It was seamless and hassle free. Now, the good stuff, MY TEETH. This is not humble BUT, my teeth look amazing. They were shaped beautiful and I had severe crowding and staining that Dr. Scott helped resolve. I moved quite a distance from both the Silver Spring and Mitchellville locations and couldn't image going anywhere else for follow-up care. I loved that I could book at either location. Dr. Scott has a terrible bedside manner with kids!!! After more than a year of visits for my 8 yr old daughter and the trauma of having to have 2 teeth pulled, she had to have a device put in her mouth to keep the space in her mouth for her incoming teeth. She was scared and started crying. He spent the entire process telling her she was acting like a baby and that she was a drama queen because she was crying. Up to this point we had only really dealt with the hygienist/assistance in the office. But, just this one confrontation with Dr Scott has made me decide to change. My daughter and my son still have to go through braces and a doctor who is mean & insensitive is not an option!!! read more

If you're looking for a competent AND polite orthodontist--don't come here. Dr. Scott did my braces when I was in high school and I have a permanent retainer that needed repair due to my dentist. The staff at the front desk are super, but the tech's he has working for him are rude and he's even worse. After going to the front desk to inquire about my insurance coverage, I come back to my seat to find the tech moved on to another patient. When she instructs the new tech to assist me, she refers to me as "that one." After paying $375 for a repair on my permanent retainer and a replacement top retainer, the tech picks off half the glue on my bottom retainer and tells me the wire is broken. Because the wire is broken, they tell me that they cannot repair but have to provide me with a new permanent retainer or removable retainer. Any working professional who has come from work in the middle of the day and already paid $375 would be annoyed, and i voiced that. Dr. Scott made such a fuss about how/why I would be annoyed because they did not know the wire was broken when I made my appointment. Last time I checked I didn't go to dental school, so how would I know? What I do know is I will never receive any orthodontia service at his office, so I quickly got my money refunded and left. Dr. Scott is a rude Caribbean man who has a rude staff and shouldn't get these great reviews. read more
