I am a caregiver to a elderly man 71st71years old. In October 2025, a patient of mine broke his left hip. Dr Harron was the on call MD. He put a partial hip in this patient. Two weeks later, the hip was dislocated and needed to be put back in. Two days later, the hip was again dislocated and was put in place. After 4 times being dislocated, I asked Dr Harron if he thinks there might be some issue with the hip. He went off on me and told me I could ge a second opinion. When the hip went out the fifth time, I told Dr Harron that he needed to do a revision on the hip. He told me he doesn't do revisions, or complete hip replacements!! What Dr does that??? We are having a very hard time finding a Dr that will fix this hip, because no Dr will take the risk of another Dr screw up!! I would not recommend this Dr, if there was mo other Dr around! Not only is he a quack, but he doesn't take responsibility for his scew ups!! read more

DR. Herron did my surgery on my left hip after I shattered it. He showed me xrays and explained what he was going to do. He did a great job and gave me xray pictures of after. Surgeons generally are straight forward, which he was. He was very thorough but had time to answer questions I had. He is a skilled surgeon and I would recommend him highly. Dr Herron made a miracle happen when he saved my boyfriends life, 8 years ago now. My boyfriend was bit by a snake, we were homeless, and Dr Herron saved Cyrus' life, with four extensive operations in three days, and he oversaw all of the doctors that Cyrus had during his ten weeks in the hospital. He had a blood doctor. A brain doctor, a skin doctor, a bone doctor and six more that I can't really what exactly they each were treating, but Dr Herron made sure that Cyrus got the best of care and their were no screw ups. Cyrus had about a one percent chance to live and keep his limbs. He is still alive and has full use of his limbs and is in good health today. We know that it is because of Dr Herron that Cyrus is alive and well. The hospital even let me stay IN THE BED with Cyrus the whole time and fed me and everything! Cyrus received the same quality of care as he would have if he had Bill Gates wealth. Dr Herron is the best, most professional, skilled surgeon and he gave us all of these years with many more to come, God willing! Thank you Dr Herron and Temecula Valley Hospital. VERY BAD on several levels! Scott Herron is full of attitude and doesn't care about your health. I would never recommend his service to another person who I liked: 1) Herron does not make his client's health a priority. He had me wear the same smelly cast for 11 weeks, despite the fact that I had lost a significant amount of muscle tissue after the first 4 weeks and despite the horrendous smell. I could mask the smell with baby powder, but I was very concerned about how loose the cast had become. When I expressed to him my concern for how the looseness of the cast could delay my healing, he blew me off. Which brings me to my next point. 2) Herron does not respect people. I felt like I was annoying him for just being there. He was disgusted with me and my questions. I wasn't asking anything outrageous--I had never had a cast before! Plus, the injury was on my dominant (illustrating) hand, which I use to make a living. This didn't make him anymore patient with me. He shut down my questions and rushed me out of his office. I've experienced less attitude from teenagers. 3) Unprofessional staff = Surprise fees! When I called a week ahead of time for my first appointment, I was told by his staff that my insurance would cover the service completely. But then a day before the appointment, I received a call from his office informing me that I would owe a $60 co-pay. This was very inconvenient because I was eager to get my fractured wrist casted and had I known ahead of time what it would have cost me--when I had made the appointment--I could have had the time to find another doctor within my network and saved some money. On my first visit, Scott Herron was very unpleasant. I figured he must have been having a bad day, and gave him another chance. But when I saw him a second time and he was just toxic as before, I decided to not waste my time with him again. When it comes to your health, sub-par service is NOT okay. Dr. Herron is a HORRIBLE! I had surgery done on my knee by Dr. Herron. Dr. Herron told me to call his Temecula office 7 to 10 days after I was released from the hospital to make an appointment so he could take out my staples. When I called Dr. Herron REFUSED to see me. He said he wouldn't see me because I'm not in his network. There is a known rule that Herron (or any other surgeon working out of network) must see the patient for a follow up after the initial surgery. I have yet to see a orthopedic surgeon and my surgery was on August 28, 2019. Today is 9-19-19. I have been yet to get another orthopedic because no one wants to touch me without Herron doing his due diligence and seeing me. Herron does surgery at Menifee Medical Center. Let me start out by saying that I am a Registered Nurse and worked with Dr. Herron in San Diego. I have bad osteoporosis and have seen him 4 times for various fractures. I disagree with reviews that say he jumps to surgery. I find him to be very conservative in his care. I have only had one surgery on a badly fractured wrist. He gave me options of a cast but I chose the surgery to repair my wrist. I have full range of motion of my wrist and the scar is hardly noticeable. I recently saw him for a hairline fracture of my hip. I did my research and knew several treatment plans. He discussed two options and based on a very thorough evaluation he recommended watching me closely, serial x-rays and calling him if I had a change in condition. He spent a lot of time with me and I appreciated his time and expertise. I have had very good care from Dr. Herron over 5 years and would highly recommend him to anyone needing ortho services. read more

Although he showed up very late for surgery, Dr. Herron did a great job on my husband's partial hip replacement. Since surgery there has been no swelling and little-to-no drainage. We saw him today for removal of stitches and the exam went very well. I don't easily recommend someone as a surgeon, but my husband and I agree that Dr. Herron did a commendable job for us. Now the really sad part is his staff. Iris, his nurse, was incredibly difficult to work with - unlike any office nurse I've ever experienced. I would say to try to avoid her if you can. read more

Very Disrespectful. 9:00am appointment, I arrived at 8:15 as requested to do paper work which took 5 minutes. Waited in their Salvation Army decorated waiting room till 9:00 at which time I was escorted to another waiting room I sat there for 15 minutes before going out to the desk to ask where the doctor was for my 9:00 appt? I was told he was at the hospital. I asked when he would be back for my 9:00 appointment? she said that was unknown. I told her that I arrived here at 8:10. She said your appointment was for 9:00. I said what time is it now? She said 9:15, I asked what happened to my 9:00 appointment. Again the hospital, she didn't know which one or when he would arrive. I should have been suspicious since there wasn't another person waiting or that entered the office the entire hour + that I was there. I would have to agree with the rest of the people who have commented and given Dr Herron 1 star, but really feel like giving him NO STARS. This office is pathetic. The gal at the front was ok, but did try to tell me that I was 30 mins late to the appointment and that they couldn't see me, even though it was in the middle of the day and not one person was in that office and I was not late. I should have known righ there that was a sign to leave. Then after waiting 45 mins to get seen, I go to the back and the office manager kid tells me to undress from the waist down, but to leave my undergarments on. UMMMMM WHAT!!!! You are checking my hip and I have comfy clothes on that I could clearly move in. That was akward. Finally Dr. Herron comes in the room and first thing he says is how did you hear about us? I was a little shocked, not hey how are you... what are you here for... so strange. So I told him google, and that I was alittle hesitant since YELP didn't show that great of reviews, but that I would give him the benefit of the doubt. WELL, let's just say I shhould have left and asked for my co-pay. This doctor is HORRIBLE!!! His computer to look at Xrays, CTScan or an MRI is from 1979 and doesn't read anything but an Xray. We spent 30 mins trying to open. Then he does this stretching thing on me pulls my leg it POPS and I start cry from the pain and he hands me a kleenex with no sympthony. WTH!!!! And finally he just reads the reports and says well you need to just got to physical therapy, stay off of it for a few days (mind you I had been off of it for 3 weeks already due to the pain) and comme back and see me in month. Then I left. Yeah NO THANKS!!!! Needless to say I went to another amazing doctor and he said right away after looking at the x-ray that I have FAI which is bone on bone. There was no cartilage left from all the years of playing college basketball, running half marathons, and crossfit. You will need to have surgery. I just had my surgery and I finally feel AMAZING!!!!! So I would reccommend going to see Corona Temecula Orthopedic Specialists. They know what they are doing over there! read more

I made an appointment here and they were able to see me immediately. They have all o f the new patient forms online so it was very easy and simple, not having to waste time filling out forms in the office. When I arrived the staff were very pleasant. I arrived early and was in the room ten minutes before my appointment, no wait time at all. I was sent down the hall for x-rays and the x-ray tech was also amazing. I was impressed not only with the speed and efficiency of the office and x-rays but also with the doctor. He seemed very knowledgeable, listened to what I had to say. I went to Dr. Herron because of persistent knee pain from jogging. I agree with other comments here about his lack of personality and dismissive demeanor - attributes not uncommon in MDs, unfortunately. However, I would never go back to Dr. Herron because of the standard of care provided. After examining my knee and taking x-rays, Dr. Herron wanted to cut. I was not convinced. So we did an MRI. We reviewed MRI results together. He admitted MRI was negative. Still, told me "I can just tell you have a torn meniscus" and wanted to cut. I resisted. So, Dr. Herron said in his most condescending manner possible, "Well, if you want to waste a couple of months and try physical therapy first, you could do that." So I did 8 sessions of PT over 4 weeks. Knee feels great. Back to running. 2 plus years later no problems. Knee still intact. So I guess I didn't have a torn meniscus. And I didn't need surgery. I am extremely happy I didn't let this surgeon cut me. But that's how he gets paid. It also seemed like his practice was failing. He had just one employee there, sporadically. Practice was always devoid of other patients when I was there, yet he still made me wait 30 minutes every time I went. Also, on a couple of occasions I called and he answered his phone himself but pretended it wasn't him. I think he was embarrassed to not have staff answering his phone. So.... Struggling practice, needs work, tries to pressure me into unnecessary surgery. Nice. read more

Dr. Herron performed surgery on my elbow that had Chronic Gout. He did a semi-ok job, but was very cocky and not personable. Directly after I visited him for post surgery visit. I now had gout in ankle and could barely walk. He did an xray and prescribed a type of gout medication for the ankle. Not only the ankle, but now my elbow had fluid in it again just like before my surgery! I noticed he didn't know how to truly troubleshot the root problem... at all. After 1 week the ankle got worse and the medication did not only NOT reduce swelling but did NOTHING for pain. After now being in bad pain for a week with no relief... and... attempting to give the meds time to work, I finally called his office and spoke to him asking for different pain and swelling meds. He told me he doesnt feel comfortable prescribing anything. He tells me to go to the emergency room if I need something! Wow.. He then tells me he doesn't feel comfortable treating gout and cant prescribe pain meds at all... even for a headache! I then ask "if you dont feel comfortable treating it, why did you do an xray, attempt to diagnose and prescribe gout meds in the 1st place??? He totally contradicts himself. He is very cocky... he says things that contradict his own actions. Plus, he is super afraid to fully treat you and help you resolve your problem. He will NOT go out of his way for you. Selena was able to get me in as a new patient the same day! Dr Herron was professional and knowledgable. He thoroughly reviewed old X-rays I brought, performed a competent exam, had some in-house x-rays taken (which saved me a ton of time and a followup visit). It allowed him to make a final diagnosis on the spot recommending physical therapy - which I start next week :) I would have give 5 stars, but their financial new patient paperwork is written too broadly favoring the medical practice. They firmly refused service if I didn't sign an unbalanced agreement and they would not accept any write-in changes to the unlawful language. They are not unique, this is common elsewhere. read more

His receptionist Samantha is a delight. I need to tell you I have not met this doctor yet. I just need to vent. Look, people, I have finally come to the conclusion that virtually every doctor graduating from med school today is a carbon copy of the last. A self-centered idiot with no social graces. Having been quite ill over the past few months, I have spent a great deal of time and energy going from one doctor to another at least 3-4 times per week, and have NEVER been treated so disrespectfully. I am 68 and had Polio at 6 weeks of age. I have been undergoing surgeries all these years (34 surgeries to be exact) and have finally learned a valuable lesson. If you don't like the doctor, leave and don't go back. They do NOT improve over time. All that really matters is did s/he do a good job or not. I have had horrendous outcomes, and miraculous ones. It's all in the research we have taken the time to do, the luck of the draw and what you are willing to go through to be treated respectfully. The only place that hurts doctors in today's market is in their pocket book. If we don't go back, they go broke! Simple as that. I have finally begun, at my old age, to tell them off directly to their faces. I told one that " he had no business putting is ego before the comfort and safety of any of his patients. Who did he think he was"? From that minute on he treated me with respect and dignity. They treat us the way we LET them. Simple as that. They don't want to prescribe pain meds? There is NO reason on the face of the earth that in today's world of medicine pain should even be an issue to be tolerated or discussed .One of the the biggest responsibilities of today's physician is pain management. If they cannot tell the difference between an addict from a person who is hurt and is in genuine pain, they should be out driving an Uber for a living. Keep a human being comfortable and as pain free as possible. There is a machine called a pain pump that does the work for them, it works better and is more accurate than a person who just wants to get out of the hospital, go have a few (or more) drinks, and probably pick up on some unsuspecting person of the opposite sex just looking for a nice time and dinner, while a spouse waits at home taking care of the 4 or 7 kids waiting for dinner with the parent and spouse they love. We have to start telling these demi-gods we appreciate their educations, but really appreciate a level of courtesy befitting that patient that has entrusted their life and quality of it into their hands. I was referred to Dr Herron by my PCP for my shoulder injury from my workout . From the beginning scheduling my appointment I was impressed and pleased with the kindness of the staff and their quick ability to get me in . My first visit with Dr Herron was very good . He was professional , very knowledgable , personable, kind and explained everything to me . When I was ready to schedule surgery and informed him how nervous I was , he was very assuring and understood and actually listened . I have referred people to his office and will continue . I actually never made it to the back to see this doctor, but I'm so annoyed, I needed to share my experience. My appt with Dr. Herron was scheduled for 10am. I was instructed to arrive 30 minutes prior to my appt to complete the paperwork. I showed up at 9:48am with all my new patient information already completed. Granted, I was not there at 9:30am, but I had all my paperwork finished! Had I needed to complete the eight pages of paperwork at the office I wouldn't have finished for 18 minutes! The receptionist said it takes her 30 min to input the paperwork. Based on that comment, I should have been there at least 45 minutes prior to seeing the doctor! If I could give 0 stars, I would. Scott Herron destroyed my son's arm. He broke both bones in his forearm, but it was non-displaced, meaning the arm wasn't deformed. Scott Herron put the cast on and squeezed it so tightly that my son was screaming he could feel his bones moving. By the time we walked out of the room and made our way to the front desk, my son's hand turned blue. I demanded the cast be removed, but Scott Herron refused. I immediately drove my son to the emergency room, and they told me to go back to the doctor office. So I went to another one of his offices. I was told at the front desk that Scott Herron called ahead and ordered the PA (physician assistant) to not remove the cast. Or next scheduled appointment was 6 weeks down the road, but it was too late by then. My son ended up with a forearm that was bent and permanent disability. I filed a malpractice lawsuit on my son's behalf and Scott Herron tried to counter sue me for malicious prosecution. My son (who was 11 years old at the time) win the maximum malpractice award allowed in California, he was also awarded almost $200,000 more in punitive damages. After waiting over a week with a painful knee, I was anxious for my 9:00 A.M. appointment with Dr. Herron to get some relief. When I walked in at 8:55, the receptionist looked up at me and said, "We're not seeing patients today." I explained I made the appointment over a wk ago and she looked (and looked) through papers until she found my name and said the office had called my house and left a message that they weren't seeing patients today. (Clearly no one called, no message was left, or I would NOT have rushed out this morning!). She didn't seem to care that I was inconvienced , or that someone in the office obviously messed up. Dr. Herron is top-notch. We just literally moved to the area and my daughter fractured her wrist at school. We didn't know anyone in the area and took a chance on this office. We were able to get into see Dr. Herron the same day and Dr. Herron, as well as his staff were extremely caring and professional. I so appreciate Dr. Herron taking the time to go over my daughter's injuries and X-rays. He was also very caring towards my 5 year old daughter who was nervous and in pain. My experience with Dr Herron was a nightmare and if I hadn't gone to another surgeon I would not have the use of my left arm/hand and would have been in constant pain. I had a displaced humerus fracture which had wide space between the bone fragments. Literally my arm was a bag of bones. He kept telling me it was healing, he even said it was 50 % healed. It certainly didn't feel healed so I went to another Dr. who ordered a cat scan, which definitely showed that the bone was actually 0% healed. It would never have healed. I went to physical therapy which was painful so hey stopped. I ended up having surgery and I have my arm and life back. The surgeon told me that the pain was partly caused by the bone fragments shredding my bicep. He was cruel to lie to me and leave me in fixable pain. Thank God for Scripps read more

Oh and when my mom needed her disability paper work filled out they said Dr. Herron charges $15.00 a signature. That's about the most funny and disgusting thing I have ever heard. I went in to see Dr. Herron a day after getting a broken wrist, possible sprained ankle, sprained shoulder, and bruised hip from a dirt bike accident. I brought with me the x-rays that the hospital took at the ER. I filled out the new patient packet upon arrival and noticed his reception area a bit cluttered and unkept.. That should have been my first clue. When the doc came in, he reviewed the x rays with me and said that I needed surgery. He also asked me how I found out about him and I told him from the internet. It was from the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons website. Keep in mind that I've already had hardware installed in this arm from another prior break and he wanted to remove pieces and replace with longer ones. He said that i also needed x rays for my shoulder and foot since my foot could possibly be broken, yet he did not offer to splint or wrap my foot since I had to walk. He was dismissive about my concerns with my shoulder and didn't address it to my satisfaction, making me feel like he ignored it all together. He kept pushing for me to get surgery and gave me an order to get x rays. He mentioned that he would welcome a second opinion but made it sound like every other doctor would agree with him. I got an uneasy feeling being in there and left after paying $200 just to hear him tell me I need surgery. I left and made an appointment with another Ortho whom I've had experience with. Since then, I have been called 3 times by 2 different hospitals who said that Dr. Herron scheduled surgery for me. Seems like he's in it just for the money. I'd stay away. read more

It is now just over ten months since my right hip replacement surgery, and I am extremely happy with Dr. Herron's work. He performed the surgery, of course, but he also provided very good pre-surgery advice, post-surgery checkups, and follow-up exams for months after the surgery. He has been truly interested in my recovery. This entire episode has convinced me that Dr. Herron is a true professional, and is very concerned with his patient's health and comfort. I wouldn't go back to this Dr. If you paid me.. I was having pain in my second toe which had been x-rayed and was not broken but MRI said a possible bone infection. Dr. Herron immediately wanted to amputate my toe and possibly the forth toe as it was starting to turn red also. When I started to cry he didn't really care and just told me it was only a toe and that people probably wouldn't notice. When I asked if he could do a bone biopsy first to make sure, he said it would be impossible because of the amount of bone he would need to remove he needed to remove the whole thing.. When I told him I wanted a second opinion he said they would probably tell me the same thing. He told his girl at the front office to send me to a colleague of his for second opinion but she sent me on a wild goose chase. The person and office didn't exist. I decided to go to another Dr. because I didn't trust this guy AT ALL.. Turns out it was NOT a bone infection after all.. I could have lost two toes for nothing.. I did have a bone biopsy by a podiatrist and he didn't need to amputate anything to get results. This Dr. Herron is a Quack and only wants to do surgery. Let me start off by saying TERRIBLE..... OK so the office staff is really friendly and we got an appointment the same day....I was super relieved because my husband had lost half his finger the day before and Needed to get in immediately with an orthopedic surgeon.... We paid our co-pay upon arrival and were quickly called back into the exam room. I had brought all the paperwork from the ER explaining the procedure they did and their report on the injury however he did not want to see the paper and asked the same questions over and over... He decided he wanted to take x-rays, before he would continue the nurse came in with a clipboard and asked us for payment for the c-rays I thought it unusual because usually they take payment at the end of the appointment not during in the exam room but whatever..... After reviewing the x-rays and removing the bandage he said come back in two days and if the finger doesn't take it will need to be amputated..... My husband was prescribed Norco in the ER and was having severe side effects so when we asked for a different medicine he called in Tylenol..... The kind of pain he was in that was not going to cut it . I spoke with him personally on the phone and he said he did not feel comfortable prescribing anything but Tylenol ..... So if he amputated my husband's finger was he going to's prescribed Tylenol for the pain as well ?!?!?? so then when I asked if I could come pick up his x-rays to go get a second opinion and take him to another doctor he said his technician was not there and I would have to get them the following day....stay away not professional not helpful not enough staff trying to squeeze money out of you in anyway possible charges fees for doctors notes copies of x-rays office was dusty and messy with outdated equipment and computers..... Wow I just took a look at Dr. Herron's reviews and can't believe what I read! Anything less than 5 stars for this doc is very surprising. I am not a Yelp fan and therefore don't do reviews here but just had to in this case. I had a GREAT experience with Dr. Herron. And yes, I am white. Oh brother, come on people!! I had surgery on my shoulder 4 years ago by Dr. H. and from start to finish, the office staff, appointments (yes, sometimes appointments were delayed because Dr. H had an emergency surgery - the guy is an orthopedic surgeon for heaven's sake!!!) were great, and yes, he was very firm with me when he did not see the improvement he wanted to see from physical therapy. Next visit, I was right where he wanted me. I had full and complete recovery and use of my shoulder and was able to get back on the tennis court. I teach a lot of Yoga and have many students who are active athletes, etc. so many come to me re their injuries/issues and I have not hesitated to recommend this great surgeon.
