Dr Kreps is the one of the worst and most rude doctors I've seen. I got x rays here and I was told I had a small bone spur on my ankle. Even though I'm in excruciating pain, he wouldn't write me a pass so I take a break from work. This was after his advice to stay off my ankle and ice it. The way he went about it was impolite and also told me to " toughen up and keep working." This was again after I told him I was barely able to get through the work week due to the pain. I got to my appointment early with my paperwork already filled out and I waited 30 mins past my appointment time before I asked how much longer it would be because I had another appointment at 12 and was told there were still 2 people ahead of me. So I asked to be rescheduled and my copayment be refunded. The ladies at the front desk were extremely nice and proceeded to help me. However, the next available appointment wasn't for an entire month and a half for a new patient (at this point I already waited a month for this appointment) that I can get in on my schedule. Ultimately, I will not be going back to this office, so the only reason I cannot recommend this office is their schedule keeping and efficiency. read more

Called the office to make an appointment for my father and the first question was what insurance he had. No concern for patient, laughed when asked about earliest appointment or if and how they handle emergencies. She told me that they were months out at least. I made an appointment here based on reviews and have to say that we we're extremely disappointed when after 1 hour and 10 minutes my husband still wasn't seen by the doctor. Earlier he complained because they called in someone who arrived after us and we had been sitting for 40 mins. They did take him back right after that complaint but then he just sat in another room! Went in for a consult for severe foot pain. Although he was hard to get into he was worth the wait. (I had previously called the office and left 2 messages for an appointment but never got a call back) Dr. Santoro took his time in evaluating my issue and explained throughly the options. I never felt rushed and he was early coming in the office to my appointment which I appreciated. Beware of shady billing practices and bait and switch tactics by this doctors office. I was told that I needed custom-made arch support for my Planter Faciaitis, I was informed that I would need to pre-pay as insurance doesn't always cover but that they would let me know if my insurance wouldn't cover. I pre-paid the amount they told me and updated my shipping address as I was moving out of state the next day. Had a lengthy conversation with the 3 women in office about my move. I never received a call that my insurance wouldn't cover them and was expecting a refund of the pre-paid amount. Several weeks later the arches were available and I had them picked up by my husband who was there on a business trip. After wearing the arches a few times my condition actually worsened and I had to seek treatment in my new state. Many months later I received a bill showing that I owed hundreds of dollars more for the arches. My husband called to discuss and was basically told to go pound sand. I then wrote a letter to Dr. Sontoro explaining the situation and that I didn't believe I owed anything else due to the misrepresentation that took place in his office. I received a letter back telling me it was my fault as I didn't have the required follow-up visit, what? How could I have a follow up when I moved out of state the day after my visit. If a follow up was required why did they insist I get these arches as they were all well aware I was moving the next day; the prudent thing would have been to tell me to seek a new doctor in my new State. The letter then told me to pay or they would submit me to collections. Here I was trying to work with them and instead of trying to help me they threaten me. I wrote another letter asking them to send me some kind of proof that I was aware that the arches would actually cost several hundred dollars more than I was told in the office and that they shouldn't threaten collections when I'm clearly discussing this with them and not ignoring it. I received no response to that letter and today I received a letter from a collection agency. read more

Hampered by a sudden bout of plantar fasciitis and not sure of who or where to go. A friend mentioned trying Dr. John Santoro DPM. Hesitant at first, I called and spoke with the very friendly Ana, the frontend receptionist. After explaining the excruciating stabbing pain I was having Ana took upon herself and got me an appointment within 3 days. Which is quite unheard of these days; given you got to wait a month or two to see a physician. However, it was not with Dr. Santoro, but with Dr. Scott DeWinter. Not in a position or willing to wait, I went ahead and scheduled it. When I met with Dr. DeWinter and being a diabetic for 27yrs, I was expecting the worse. Well after his careful examination, Dr. DeWinter assured me my circulation was better than good and that I had a number of options I could utilize to minimize the pain. It was also good knowing that he had also experienced the stabbing pain of plantar fasciitis some years back and knew exactly what I was going through. Dr. DeWinter suggested a heal cup, along with an orthotic I could get from a local foot store that they work with. To say that I was more than impressed with the whole staff at John Santoro DPM is putting it mildly. And, given the positive results, I would strongly recommend the office of Dr. John Santoro DPM for all your foot problems, ailments and care. They're positively the best... read more

I had a foot surgery years ago that was botched by dr. Santoro. The screws he used in my little foot we're so big and so many of them that now the screws 4 years later are pushing their way out. I barely can walk on my foot and no other podiatrist wants to touch it due to all the hardware in it. I called dr. Santoro's office to ask if he could just take a look at it since he did the surgery. I know they don't take my insurance but I figured due to the fact that this was his surgery he would at least just look at it for 5 minutes and tell me if there was something that could be done about it. If a painter paints a house and something goes wrong with their paint job they will usually go back and correct the work or at least look at it to make it right. Dr. Santoro told me that there is nothing he could do I would have to find another doctor to look at it and he didn't care at all. When you screw something up it's only humane to at least look at it especially when you're a doctor and that person is in pain due to something that you did. Never go to this doctor because if something does go wrong he will not look at it or correct his work. He is in it obviously just for the money and doesn't truly care about his patients. Honestly my feelings are hurt because I barely can walk on my foot and I just needed five minutes of some advice in a little help but all he saw was a dollar sign. There are lots of podiatrists in Temecula and Murrieta. If you have any options at all go somewhere else! read more

I had been suffering with acute tendonitis in my Achilles heel for nearly two years and had lost confidence in another local podiatrist I had been using. My experience with Dr. Santoro could not have been any better. He was very conservative in his approach, trying physical therapy and antibiotics first, which unfortunately, did not solve my problem. My next options were surgical and he gave me two - a newer, less proven, minimally invasive procedure with far less recovery time or the more traditional surgical route that would involve months of recovery and rehab. What I really appreciated was that Dr. Santoro did not try to push either option. He let me research and decide for myself. I opted to try the newer, less invasive approach and followed that up a couple of months later with a PRP injection. I am now pain free for the first time in over two years. Additionally, Dr. Santoro's staff is wonderful. read more

I called the Dr's office yesterday and they got me in today! Anyone who has had an ingrown toe nail knows how painful it is. As luck would have it, I got Dr Scott DeWenters. I LOVE THIS DOCTOR. He was gentle and caring and funny. He worked quickly and was amazing. The office staff was equally as kind. I'm sorry, he isn't a GP. This dr also goes to a lot of senior care facilities and works on the elderly clients at the facility!! Saving them from coming to him. What a big heart he has. He deserves 10 stars. read more

Great doctor, and great staff! In the past ten years Dr Santoro performed two surgeries on my feet, and later treated several minor problems, always with great results! The office is courteous, and amazingly, they remember me and greet me by name even after years of not visiting their office. Recently, I had bad pain in my toe, and they managed to see me the very same day, even though it was after a holiday break, and they were clearly very busy. A-mazing service and care! read more

Went to see Ben McGrath, DPM at the Foot and Ankle Restoration (oxymoron for this place). During my 1st appointment Dr. McGrath stared at the bump on my foot and than at me and said that he "didn't know" what it was. I didn't either - that is why I came to see a podiatrist. I don't know why he didn't think of some other way to phrase a basic, "Let's do an MRI and see!" There were issues with the office getting the MRI report back (as my insurance doesn't cover services at their preferred MRI offices), but we got this straightened out eventually (not their fault). BUT then their office couldn't get the MRI results and asked me to bring my own (that I actually went to get from the hospital records). On the day of my 2nd appointment (which should have been a phone call to discuss the MRI results) they charged me $20 co-pay. On the day of my appointment, I came 15 minutes early and the doctor was 35 minutes late! I had to go get the nurse to get him - she said she has to keep tabs on him all the time. How old is the man? He did say that he saw my MRI results (and yet had to read them again in front of me). He then said that the tumor I had in my foot is rarely malignant (no offer of a biopsy or anything like that), and that I could choose to do a surgery to remove it. Mind you he didn't explain anything - not even point at the chart on his wall to show me how that might work. Just sat there, tired after lunch. I had to ask him about risks of losing sensation in the toes, and the recovery process. He bluntly stated that I would lose sensation in my toes. 2 weeks on crutches. When my husband (who has a medical degree) asked him if nerve excision was the only way to go - he said, "nerves are tiny things, you know. But, you are welcome to look at more research." Seriously? I am to look up research when he is collecting my insurance payment? He was unprepared, uncaring and a dilettante. When I got home, we did look up research (cause, yes, we can) and a 2011 article (8 years old as of today) stated of successful tumor excision with little nerve damage. I don't know anything about Dr. Santoro, but Dr. McGrath of the same office should be avoided at all costs - until he goes back to continuing education and realizes that he is talking to real people in pain! I plan to find a neurosurgeon to consult further. read more

I have been Dr. Santoro's patient for over 15 years and have been very satisfied with him and his office staff. However, he has changed his office location (from Temecula to Loma Linda - Murrieta) and has a different staff. When I called to make an appointment, I was told that he was booked 6 weeks out, but I could see a different doctor (Dr McGrath) in a few days, so I took that appointment. I had to wait 1 hour and 15 minutes in the waiting room. Someone else came in after me, also to see Dr McGrath, and was told that he didn't have an appointment. The guy insisted that he did, and the receptionist finally figured out that the guy's appointment was for a few days later. Nevertheless, he was taken to an examine room before I was. This was not an emergency situation - the guy was there to have a follow-up on a foot treatment. The waiting room was noisy, as were the staff members. The staff members were abrupt and rude. I will be looking for another office, one that can offer the services that Dr. Santoro used to provide. read more
