Wish I would have read some of these reviews before I made my purchase at this lot.
My wife and I went in a few months back to check out some of the vehicles, we found that we were interested in there Mazda CX-9, we took it on a short test drive (since the vehicle was on empty) and in the short ride it seemed to be running fine so we decided to go ahead and put our trust in this car lot and finance the vehicle.
After only having the vehicle for a few days we started noticing issues, we took it in to the Mazda dealership to have it looked at and to get a recall fixed on the vehicle and upon evaluating the vehicle they find that the transfer case is leaking and that it needed repair.
I asked them how much for this repair and they told me that it would cost $1700, so I go ahead and have the recall fixed and hold off on the transfer case since I wasn't able to afford this and was sure that if I were to call the car lot that they would take care of this issue for me since I literally just pulled it out of there lot only days prior.
So I call the car lot and speak with Scott himself, he tells me that the price seemed very steep and that he felt that the vehicle was fine and that the dealership was probably just trying to make money off of me, he tells me that he has a mechanic in Modesto and gives me there info and for me to get ahold of them and drop it off there to be fixed, I was very relieved since I felt that he was going to take care of this for me with no hassle.
So we contact that mechanic and tell him that Scott told us to bring this vehicle down to be checked out and he says no problem and to drop it off in the morning for the day, we take the vehicle down to the mechanic that next morning and explain to them what the dealership told us about the transfer case and even provided them with the paperwork from the dealership.
Later that day they call us to pick the vehicle up and that it was fixed, so we pick it up and they tell us that the bolts on the transfer case just needed to be tightened and that was all.
We get the vehicle and drive it home and I call Scott to give him the news and thank him for having this taken care of for us, he says no problem and that he's glad it's fixed, after a few days that mechanic calls us telling us that we owe him for fixing our car, I tell him that we are not responsible for paying him once Scott himself told us to drop the vehicle off there and that he was taking care of it.
Apparently, Scott wouldn't pay this guy and told him that we were responsible so he called us a few more times and asked for payment which I refused to pay.
It's been about 6 months now and last week we decided to take the vehicle to have diagnostics done since it has been running very terribly and we find out that our transfer case is still leaking and needed to be replaced.
After getting this news we decide to get a 2nd opinion and take it to a well know 5-star shop in Modesto with phenomenal reviews for the 2nd opinion, they tell us the same thing, the transfer case needed to be replaced, they quoted me $1700, with a max budget of $2000 I decide to have them replace it, after a few days they get everything pulled apart and realize that our transmission is shot and also needed to be replaced which would cost an additional $3600, they tell us that if we don't rebuild the transmission we'd be wasting our money by replacing the transfer case since the transmission powers the transfer case.
So now here we are stuck with a vehicle that we still owe a lot of money on needing almost $6000 in repairs, the vehicle is older with a good amount of miles on it and quite frankly wouldn't be worth putting that much money into, not to mention we can't afford to pay that much since we only had $2000..
Scott Davis Auto Sales scammed me, I'm left making over a 400 dollar payment on a vehicle I can't even drive.
Scott, my kids and wife that you seen me loading up into the vehicle the day we made the purchase thanks you for not caring and screwing us over.
You are truly an amazing man!
Update:
Ended up having to pull every last dime out of my annuity to get the vehicle fixed. Total cost was $7300 read more
