What an amazing discovery we made 2 years ago when we drove past the HB School of Music and thought…read moreto give it a try. A truly random encounter led to a weekly essential in the musical education of my young woodwind players. We've had the pleasure of working with Mr. Gary Gould, a woodwind specialist and true expert in the art of playing the clarinet and saxophone. His skill goes far beyond the basics of technique -- he is a master of teaching the foundations of music theory in an approachable way, even to younger students. My students absolutely love going to see him, and they have progressed immeasurably in the time they have spent with him. If you have an eager woodwind student looking to expand their musical knowledge, this is the perfect experience, and absolutely well worth the cost. The school as a whole is well run, with outstanding instruction in piano, strings, voice, among other instruments. The practice rooms and performance spaces are clean, organized, and well-appointed. There are recitals every few months which give students a friendly performance environment to show off what they've learned, and an orchestra for group participation if desired. We've attended a number of recitals over the last 2 years, and have been impressed with the caliber of the performances across all instruments. If your student is serious about growing as a musician, it essential to supplement a school-based program with private lessons. Without doubt, this school has the teachers and supportive environment to nurture their abilities and help them achieve their goals!

At the start of the year he was really behind in both subjects, and now he is not only caught up but actually doing well and feeling confident. Lennie's patience has made all the difference. My son can be challenging at times with his ADHD, but Lennie knows how to keep him engaged and on track without ever making him feel pressured. He has also helped him with executive functioning skills like organizing assignments and staying on top of due dates, while still letting him explore the parts of the subjects that interest him most. That mix of structure and encouragement has helped my son build real momentum. I am so thankful for everything Lennie has done and would recommend him to anyone looking for a tutor who is both supportive and effective.

You start at exactly the time you are suppose to be there at and you end at that exact time, not a second earlier. The service and lessons feel very impersonal and it was not a good vibe to start lessons. Also, you cannot reschedule your appointment if your child is sick or you cannot attend for a reason. You get a online lesson sent to you, not the one on one you paid for. WAA does explain this to us in the beginning, but at the end, this was one of the many reasons we didn't move forward. If you are looking for violin lessons, look for someone that specializes in only that instrument. We did not get that here.
