My daughter has been attending Westminster Arts Academy for 3 years now! She has done 4 recitals and this past one was the Best yet! Theresa was a great ballet instructor. My daughter looks forward to attending every week sometimes twice a week when enrolled in drum class. My family and I are pleased with the staff and services they provide! I would definitely recommend! Fernando is extremely nice and helpful with any questions we have. Their dedication to the children is very much appreciated.

let me start off by saying I have signed both my daughters up for a couple different classes here and they have enjoyed them enough to finish the classes but not to continue long term. Still have a lot of respect for the instructors for being kind to our littles! Fernando at front desk has also always been very warm, friendly and accommodating with wonderful costumer service. With that said, this last month we have been dealing with a lot of personal hardship(I'd be getting surgery and car issues) therefore having to drain most my savings into these bills, on top of my daughter deciding she wanted a break from art class, I knew I would not have the funds to complete or pay for the following months class. A week prior to the month being over, I spoke to a young lady at the front desk and let her know I would like to drop the class for the following month, I found myself having to negotiate how many more weeks I'd be willing to pay for since, they like to give the instructors 2 weeks notice to fill their class, although I understand this is completely fair which is why I agreed, I knew my hands would be tied with finances, but still agreed on paying 2 weeks of the following class thinking I'd have half the payment of $98 dollars, still then she followed with asking if I could accommodate THEM with 3 weeks instead of just the 2?! I was flabbergasted given that I had disclosed this personal information to her to get a little more understanding of my circumstances . She came off insensitive, I was shocked on her persistence, but still tried meeting her half way trying to understand from a business standpoint. As the month of May approached both my and my husbands car completely broke down, which you can imagine came with a lot of stress and more drainage to our savings. I did not have the funds for even the last 2 weeks I was persuaded to sign off on. I had received a couple messages from Teresa asking for payment, when I responded that unfortunately as I figured I could not come up with the funds even if to them it was only $44 dollars, on end my end my finances were so tied with rent, car reparations on 2 cars and medical bills over 8k in just one month, I couldn't make payment otherwise I would have more than willingly paid. Her text messages came off very condescending and although stating she understood ,Teresa and the other young lady's vibe and energy came off as insensitive.Im not one to leave reviews nevertheless a bad one, since I myself work customer service and understand business, but walking away from this situation left me with a very icky and wrong feeling about their costumer service. I do not plan on having my child back unless properly addressed. Although many may disagree and feel I might be unreasonable or being extra, I personally would have never pushed a payment on someone who is clearly going through personal financial issues especially if expressed, it can be hard to admit the reality of life's struggle sometimes, and to have gotten this in response just felt wrong to me. I decided to not take my daughter to her last class so they can at least have one paid week, where they can save on the supplies being used. I expected a more understanding approach especially since No one ever specified on the 2 week drop policy, I would've dropped within the correct time period if done so. Teresa's response to her poor customer service review was "love this" reaction. Fernando tried contacting me to resolve the issue. Thank you but I will no longer bring service to the academy.

As a mom, I appreciate this studio because the studio follows the Cechetti method and focuses on performances instead of competitions. The end of the year performances, as well as the performing group shows, are very high quality. As with all things though, the studio, the kids and the parents are not perfect. Each situation is so different. However, as you can see by Miss Kimberly's responses to the reviews, she is very professional and cares deeply about the studio and especially the kids. He wasn't never left alone (especially with new people : strangers before but we left him there as we were told to wait outside) minutes later, we were told to come in and received a big hug. When he recognized a song, he went back to the dance floor and danced around the kids. The instructor didn't like that and at one point even said he was distracting the other kids (as he wasn't on his colored marked circle space) For a child in the spectrum, this is hard to do. They proceeded with the program NOT including him. I felt so bad for our son that i had tears in my eyes even now as Im typing this. Every child deserves to be seen heard and they WANT to be included. They just beed more TIME AND PATIENCE than neurotypical kids.

From the teachers to the overall structure, everything feels thoughtful, supportive, and family-friendly. The Huntington Beach location is fantastic... beautiful, safe, clean, and in a great area. Our daughter attends one of the school's evening ballet classes, which can sometimes be a busy window for family schedules, but it allows both of us to be present and support her. One of the standout aspects is the communication. Being able to easily text and communicate directly with the director has been amazing. Any time we've had a question, comment, or concern, responses have been quick, kind, and helpful. That level of accessibility and care really sets this school apart and gives parents a lot of peace of mind. Miss Nix is truly wonderful. She is patient, kind, direct and fantastic with the girls. Our daughter absolutely adores her, and that relationship alone means everything to us. Another huge plus is the flexibility with makeup classes. Because weekday evenings can be challenging for us, she often attends a morning makeup class later in the week with Miss Rebekah, who is also wonderful. She now happily believes she has "two ballet teachers," which really speaks to how welcoming and consistent the environment is. This December, our daughter participated in her first-ever recital, the Starry Bravo Bash, which she worked so hard toward. The recital participation was optional and very reasonably priced for what was included. A beautiful tutu, leotard, crown, a star plush toy, and a performance video. Monthly tuition and registration fees also feel very fair. I also really appreciated how each week the same choreography was practiced and built upon in preparation for the recital, as well as the online practice video provided on the school's website. Being able to practice at home helped her feel confident and excited. That was such an incredible additional tool. The Bravo Bash event as a whole felt a bit logistically hectic. While we were asked to arrive around 9:50 AM for a 10:00 performance, her class did not perform until close to 11:00. The venue was very tight and crowded, and because all classes performed the same song and choreography, it became a long wait for young children and families. As families left after their child's performance, the audience gradually became smaller, which felt a bit sad for the later-performing students. One thing we especially wish had been possible was a brief moment with her teacher after her very first recital. We brought flowers for Miss Nix and had hoped to take a photo or share a quick moment, but the teachers were continuously rotating between classes for hours. While we fully understand the scale of the event, the personal connection felt a bit lost in the shuffle. In the future, it might be nice if performances could be spread out in a way that allows teachers and students that special moment together. That said, I did love that when it was our class's turn, the first two rows were reserved so families could sit close and watch their children perform, such a thoughtful touch! My only other small, personal preference I would mention is around dress code and overall visual structure. I truly appreciate how relaxed and welcoming the environment is for young children (especially at this age) but at times I found myself wishing for a slightly more consistent, polished appearance. I grew up in a more traditional ballet environment, so this is simply a stylistic preference. When we attended the recital and saw all of the teachers in their matching outfits, it looked so beautiful, professional, and cohesive. That level of presentation really elevated the experience, and it would be lovely to see that same sense of visual structure carried into regular classes as students move up in levels. Our daughter is already excited for the spring recital and asking what comes next. She's even been encouraged to move into a higher-level class, which makes us so proud! Overall, we truly love and adore this school and most definitely recommend them. The teachers are caring, communication is excellent, class times and locations are plentiful, and the pricing feels fair. Our experience with the school itself has been overwhelmingly positive and recommend them to anyone beginning their ballet journey. We're grateful to be part of this dance community and look forward to continuing. We love you Tutu School HB!

So whenever they practice for the recital my daughter was made to feel very left out. The instructor told my daughter that she can do stretches or do whatever she wanted or join the dance. Fact that the instructor pointed that out made my daughter felt like she didn't belong. Paying for the recital or not, every tuition paying dancer should be part of the routine. They have my credit card in their system and charge automatically every month which in the beginning we appreciated because we didn't have to remember to pay or wait for a bill and all that hassle. However, this academy not once sent out updates or announcements of any kind. I checked my spam/junk mail as well as regular mail. They say they do send email but we never got it. Suddenly tuition increased by $30 this month. Also we just found out there is an annual registration fee although there was no additional need for any type of "re-registration." They just simply charge it every July. The reason it's not a 1 star is because after the issue arises they refunded this month tuition smoothly as we decided to pull my daughter from this academy. And while there my daughter didn't mention other issues aside from feeling excluded from the Moana dance. We got quoted with another academy close by for our daughter where tuition is a lot more reasonable and she will be starting there soon.
