My daughter had been going here since she was 5 years old now she is turning 8 this summer. The owner Mrs Pham is a an excellent teacher. She is very structure, organized, and is eager to teach piano. If you have questions or comments she is great at responding and making things clear, besides she is very nice, friendly and professional. Myself being a business owner for many years I can tell she enjoy whats she doing. I will have my second daughter and boy enrolled in a few years when they are old enough. I will leave a neutral review because I've only been to the consultation and will not be enrolling. Like some of the reviews mentioning rudeness; they were accurate. I came in with the most positive attitude and even so I was greeted with such a brass personality from the owner. The place was the most convenient for me but I had to reject. As pleasant as I tried to be, she was crossed and seems offended with any questions I had regarding anything. I appreciate Ms. Anna for her instruction. I am an adult student. When I first started, my technique is poor. One example is that I used to play with rigid wrists. She is knowledgeable and has helped me fix my techniques. She showed me the way to relax my wrists so that I won't hurt myself and to be able to play more advanced pieces. Now I am more confident with the way I play the piano than before. Much less to no tension, thanks to her instruction. In addition, Ms. Anna is accommodating when it comes to scheduling. She is a wonderful teacher who has taken the time to get to know my kids' learning styles and to work with them on improving their techniques. The teachers are friendly and are very skilled and experienced in what they do. In addition, they have a computer lab where you can work on your theory, and they have an electronic piano where you can practice pieces. I personally teach here, and from what I've seen, as long as the students are also willing to put in the time themselves, they will have success - as with any endeavor. The success is equal parts student and teacher combined, and there are many students who excel, to the credit of both the teaching style of the teacher and hard work of the student. Every teacher has their own style - some keep a faster pace while others prefer to be more thorough, but it really depends on the learning style of the student. For this reason, the diversity in methods is an asset rather than a hindrance. I have seen students succeed with multiple techniques, so the important thing is to recognize the learning method in each child and what motivates them, then to teach in that way. It's a learning journey to get to the root of a child's process, and there is often time needed to adjust. Either way, we try to balance both parental, student and our own expectations, although doing so always involves judgement and compromise. I have personally had many interactions with Anna as to the learning needs of specific students, and have been impressed with her ability to keep track of every child within the school, regardless of if they are hers or not. I know that she's actively involved the curriculum of each child, and her students have earned numerous awards. read more

Exactly what the other yelper said....bad customers service and very rude! I called today to inquire about vocal and piano lessons for my daughter and a group of girls in her school but the some lady Anna answered and was extremely rude. It has nothing with the fact that she's vietnamese. I asked about lessons, it was $30/hour and no group lesson. It's decent price however we are going to be taking out business elsewhere. I've taught piano at OCMC since 2011. This is a pretty good place for teaching and learning. It provides the use of computers for students to get music theory tutoring while they wait for their private lesson. The school's director Ms. Anna really cares about the musical growth of each student. She organizes 2 recitals each year to give the opportunity to students of all levels to perform. I taught at a few other music schools before and OCMC so far is the most educational one. To the Anonymous evaluator - who is so coward that can't even say your name - you and your kid represent that very small percentage of people who are delusional, bad in learning attitude, and can't take any criticism. I know exactly that these kind of students exist because I myself in my 15 years of teaching experience encounter them every once in a while. These kind of students usually believe that learning should be always fun and should have no hard work involved. When they fail, they always blame the teacher. read more

We went in on Sat 3/26/16 around 3:45pm to get some information to sign my daughter & myself up for piano classes. Waited for about 5 mins to be helped, no one came. In the meantime I began looking at vouchers and a sheet I noticed on a desk that included the prices. As I was reading the price sheet the owner came out and was extremely rude. She said she was the owner twice, and had a tone that was asking us to get out. We asked about group classes which was clearly stated on the sheet we were looking at. All she said was we do not offer group classes. Extremely rude would not recommend this place. I will be happily taking my business elsewhere. read more

I started learning piano a couple of years ago to basically keep my mind crisp and sharp as I age. As I learned to play I fell in love with playing more and more. My first teacher was really nice and I learned a lot, but I lacked in certain fundamentals of playing. I really saw that once I started coming here. It's not just about playing the notes as they're written on the page, it's about PLAYING the notes as they're written on the page, playing them with feeling, playing them with emotion, playing them so someone listening can feel the sound you're trying to achieve, not just hear the sound. That's the thing about classical music and music in general. It can be played, but when you really start to play it, that's when you feel the difference instead of just hearing it. I'm constantly trying to improve my playing so that I can feel the music I'm playing, instead of just hearing it. Miss Anna has really helped me understand this much more so, than I had before. She emphasizes the way I play the songs, the way I move my fingers on the keys, the way I play the music with expression. I feel that I'm getting a better understanding of playing the piano opposed to just understanding how to play a piano. I would highly recommend the OCMC if you're interested in really embracing the art of playing an instrument. read more

my son takes piano lesson from Ms Murga in this music conservatory and she is very patient and true to her profession. She is 100% dedicated and went out of her way to help my son achieve his goal. It is hard to find a good piano teacher with a cheap price like here. I totally recommend people who wants their kids to learn piano to go here. She has this heavy in agony face when giving lessons. she is a very deceiving woman when charging fee. but deceiving in general. She was trying to have her way with my husband. my relationship is ruined because of her. I have seen things that is not very decent here.
