Belittled and chastised me during labor, and told me that if my doula said one word he was going to physically throw her out of the room.

tl;dr: Dr. Suh is the best doctor I've ever had, hands down. And if you have trouble with contact,…read moreuse MyChart (mychart[dot]nm[dot]org). Dr. Suh is attentive, simultaneously both friendly and professional, doesn't rush you out the door, asks the right questions (she doesn't wait for YOU to mention that weird mole or why you've been refilling your xanax more frequently or whatever...), she's good at sensing/reading that there's something you want to ask but about which you might be afraid or embarrassed (I got over that long ago, but was a big help when I started seeing her about 9 years ago), and if you have test results, follows up with a phone call even if they're normal. And here's a big one - she treats you with respect. I've seen a few doctors in Chicago who have treated me like a child (one who did that recently was almost certainly younger than me) or an idiot (I'd like to think I'm not - I read a ton about medicine and science in general out of sheer curiosity, have a background in chemistry, and come off as well-spoken and intelligent [so I've been told]). I've seen a lot of reviews here complaining about the office staff, perhaps at the old location on Washington. They weren't without flaws, but I've seen MUCH worse (*ahem*women'shealthconsulting*ahem*). I think there might be a completely new staff at the Delano location, but I'm not sure; I've only had one visit there. The one complaint I have from my only visit to the new office is that, although I was quite early & Dr. Suh was running a little behind, they didn't offer to draw blood or get a urine sample while I was waiting (it was an annual exam - they ALWAYS do blood & urine). I probably could have asked though, or maybe there's a new protocol or something. Not the end of the world, for sure. If you have trouble getting in touch due to the Northwestern bureaucracy, I'd highly suggest using the MyChart portal to send messages to Dr. Suh, schedule appointments, ask for refills, etc. It really does work, I've never had a problem with it at all. Sadly, I'm moving out of state in about 6 or 8 months, so unless I get sick between now and then (fingers crossed I stay healthy this winter!), my most recent visit with her will be my last.

The only problem with going to the most popular doc on Yelp is that it can be quite difficult to…read moreget an appointment! After a week of coughing and sneezing I called Dr Suh's office prepared to beg for an appointment that day. It turned out I didn't need to do much begging...there were able to fit me in with their Physician Assistant an hr later. Hurray! I don't take pleasure in visiting any dr, but this office is the exception. Everyone (and seriously everyone) is sooo nice! Friendly receptionist, super sweet nurse and Sharon the Physician Assistant was wonderful as well! I didn't feel rushed at all because Sharon, who sounds eerily similar to Ellen Page from Juno, spent a good amount of time chatting with me how I was feeling. After a blood test and confirming I was full of mucus (lovely, I know) she prescribed a z-pack to make me all better. Oh, how I love antibiotics. I left without even seeing Dr Suh, yet it was another 5 star experience!

Today I received a text that I had "scheduled" a payment for $421 that was going to post to my debit card in 6 days. When I called their office they claimed my insurance is refusing to cover the urine culture and claimed that when I signed the paperwork at the time of the visit I "authorized" them to charge my card for whatever they want. I don't recall signing any such paperwork beyond authorizing the initial copay. I was able to cancel this charge but it feels sneaky that this was not disclosed to me at the time of my visit- I would have waited and seen my GP who doesn't gouge me for lab work and doesn't have sneaky billing practices. I regret going here and I don't want others to make the same mistake. Furthermore I called my insurance today and was informed that they ran a bunch of unnecessary tests which ran up my bill. I knew exactly what was wrong because it's a chronic issue, and only needed a standard urine culture. Why as $800 worth of tests run without my consent for a standard UTI visit? I've been in this situation countless times before and was never taken advantage of financially this way by an Urgent Care before.

I went through months of unanswered questions, doctors avoiding me, unorganized facilities and lazy staff and workers. A good friend of mine recommended RUSH Medical. With nothing to loose, I scheduled an appointment with a GI doctor via web. He provided a good deal of information and insight. After he wasn't able to assist much, he properly guided me in the next direction he felt was appropriate. I met a pulmonary doctor, Diane K. Litwin, and she has been stellar. Very quick with responses and listens well. Presently, she works with me. Yesterday morning, I met with an allergen doctor, Payal Patel; now reviews on her weren't the best but I was hopeful. Dr. Patel is definitely an intelligent, gifted, good listener, thorough doctor. Although I am still on my medical journey, I can reassure that rush south loop (or RUSH in general) has amazing doctors despite the fact the world is going through a major pandemic. They make sure the place is clean 100% of the time. Every single staff member down to the darn security guard knows what the heck they're talking about and always has an answer to your question. The people are sweet and friendly no matter what time of day it is. I definitely recommend RUSH Medical south loop.

Didn't seem like all the tests that are necessary for a primary care appointment for the first time in years were done. However, I just wanted to run some blood tests. I called on a Thursday afternoon to book an appointment the following Friday. I had no problem getting an appointment! When I arrived for my appointment, it was very pleasing to see such a large and clean waiting room. I was the only one in the waiting room and there were three people waiting to assist me. I arrived 15 minutes early thinking I'd have to fill out some paperwork (despite being a patient already in the Northwestern Memorial hospital network) but there was nothing for me to fill out! It was great! I had barely even taken off my jacket to sit down before they called me in for my appointment. Eventually they will have more doctors and specialists working at this location. I can't wait for that time to come so I can make this my one-stop shop for all my check ups! FYI--if you drive, they will validate so you get first 90 minutes free. This location is very easy to get to from the CTA Roosevelt train and bus stops.
