I read all these positive reviews of Dr. Cudahy on Yelp and was excited to go have my first appointment with her--finally, a female doctor blocks away from where I lived who could handle both my general practitioner needs as well as my gynecological ones! I had my appointment 3 weeks ago and found it generally satisfactory-- Dr. Cudahy was very nice, seemed to take genuine interest in me as a patient, and provided all the services I needed...yearly exam, STD testing, blood testing, breast exam, etc. I left the building relieved that I could end my search for a decent doctor. After that, I was ready to leave a glowing review of her practice.
Three weeks later, my opinion of her office has taken a complete 180. I missed a call from Dr. Cudahy over the weekend two weeks ago telling me that my test results were in and to call her back during the week. Easy enough. Over the past two weeks, I have called her office FOUR TIMES to no avail. Each time, the office assistant has told me that Dr. Cudahy was seeing patients and would call me back, taking down my name, date of birth, phone number, and the tests I had. I can understand not calling me back once, maybe twice, but four times?! When I called the third time earlier this week, the woman on the phone seemed shocked and a little mortified that I had been trying to get a hold of the doctor for so long and I was sure that I would hear back after that call. When I called for the fourth time today, the woman I talked to was very snotty with me and had no apologies for their lack of efficiency, nor any ability to tell me when exactly I WOULD be able to hear from the doctor. I can't believe one of her nurses hasn't called me back at this point, at the very least.
If Dr. Cudahy can't take time out of her busy schedule to return a call that should only take five minutes, she should either consider lightening her patient load or investing in medical assistants that are competent enough to pass a message along to her. I'm extremely frustrated by the total inefficiency at this office, especially because I'm moving out of Chicago for the summer in 6 days, something that the doctor and I had discussed in detail during my appointment, and would've liked to have had all of my medical needs taken care of prior to that. I liked Dr. Cudahy enough that I would've kept seeing her for years, but now I can't honestly recommend going to see her. It's not worth the trouble you'll encounter. As for me, it seems that my search for a worthwhile doctor is back on... read more
