I parked here overnight to get some rest before continuing on my road trip. Overnight parking rules varies by state and Mississippi allows overnight parking at rest stops whereas Louisiana does not. This rest area is so brightly lit and signs indicated there was security on the premises made me feel safe enough to stop. When I pulled in I noticed the security guy was in his truck but when he noticed I got out to head for the restrooms he got out, nodded hello and kind of made himself busy tidying up and generally keeping an eye out for me since I was the only soul at the place not napping in my car, which was appreciated. Everything was clean and accommodating as far as restroom facilities go. I did my thing as quickly as possible then headed out. I'm glad rest areas like this exist. Sure it's not the most glamorous thing to review but we all need to know good places to pee in peace relatively safely. Am I right?

Even if you don't own ANY camping gear, you could either buy it there on the spot or rent it! Everyone from the park is VERY friendly! Everyone from the park admin, to security, to Yogi himself!!! You all made our stay wonderful! They have everything set up for a great time with family! The lake is the main attraction to this area but there is SO MUCH MORE than that. Art class consisted of giving one sea shell and some wal-mart paint. Dance party was non-existant. Waterslide is not huge. It is just plasic down a small hill. Everything you do is an extra cost. The water park is fine if you do day pass but the price of actually staying there is not worth it. Military & Government Travelers avoid this property!…read more I stayed at this hotel while traveling on official government assignment. My assignment was unexpectedly canceled on the final day, forcing a change in departure timing. I checked out approximately 30 minutes past the posted checkout time. All of my luggage had already been removed from the room and I was in the process of leaving the property. Despite this, the manager refused any flexibility and charged me for an additional full night. I contacted Hilton corporate customer service and was advised that the decision was entirely at the discretion of the individual property's management and ownership. I fully understand hotels have policies. However, anyone familiar with military or government travel knows schedules and orders can change without warning and are not within the traveler's control. A 30-minute overage, with a vacant room, resulting in a full additional night's charge shows a lack of reasonable accommodation and customer consideration. If you are military or a government contractor traveling on orders, I strongly recommend avoiding this property.

The lobby is spacious, and the color scheme is made up of maroon couches and green chairs, and the area flows into the breakfast area. The high tables are wooden with black and red leather chairs. The bedrooms are more of a suite. The living room and bedroom areas are divided. It's a full living area with a sectional, TV, desk, small refrigerator, and microwave.
