Honor system for alcohol (we didnt try any). 3. Accommodating pleasant staff. 4. Old historic house and small but pretty grounds you can walk around. The magnolias are ancient and spectacular. Wish we could have seen them in bloom. 5. Can order nicely prepared meals to room or eat in library lounge - breakfast or dinner. Def an old southern feel to the place. Cons: 1. Parking was tight and hard to to manuever but they did have a cart available for rooms that are further away - partially broken. 2. In downtown area, kind of dingy and run down - but somewhat charming w many old craftsman homes around. 3. Could have used some hanging baskets and annuals for more color and charm - would help brighten the mood of the run down area of town - 4. And wish theyd answer the phones. We left messages almost everytime we called (they were good about calling back). This leaves one feeling disconnected from a warm hospitable experience.

The water park is fine if you do day pass but the price of actually staying there is not worth it. Upon arrival, I was greeted by both Courtney & Ed Lewis at the counter. They were both so hospitable and welcoming. The check-in process was easy and straightforward. I was assigned room #602, located on the 6th floor. Ed finally informed me about the pertinent details of the hotel stay. This hotel was beyond incredible from start to finish. I have nothing but a lot of positive notes to share. PROS: * Complimentary breakfast AND Dinner * Top-Shelf Happy Hour daily from 5:30 - 7:30 PM - complimentary alcoholic drinks (up to 3 per day). The bartender, Tanisha, was beyond sweet and served up amazing drinks! * Beautiful view from the 6th floor * The room was clean and located close to the floor's elevator * Great amenities - A/C, fridge, TV, microwave, and more! * Complimentary parking - spaces were plentiful * Convenient location - a variety of stores & restaurants nearby; right off the freeway * Affordability of the room rate What stood out to me the most was the inclusion of the complimentary dinner. I was beyond impressed, as this is something that's not usually offered at most hotels. For dinner on Wednesday night, I tried the Grilled Chicken, Macaroni & Cheese, and Vegetable Soup. Because of my role, I was able to watch the Sheraton event team through almost all of the set ups and breakdowns of the meals that were served just outside the Grand Ballroom. They were efficient, worked as a team and all knew their role, professional and courteous. The peach cobbler was a hit with our 400+ attendees, and the staff saw that we were going to run out so they had another pan in the over very quick! My best moment was Thursday morning when Ms. Jackie heard me say I wish I had some whipped cream for my waffles because I don't eat syrup. She was very quick to not only offer to get me some from the kitchen, but to also bring it to me! Amazing guest service from everyone!
