The last several weeks, my company has been sending me into Mississippi and weirdly enough. I have friends and relatives there. I had an auntie that was staying in the Jackson Pearl area at this hotel me living two states across. I was on the road for five hours to try and come hang out with them for a couple of hours before I had to go to work . Well early that morning I was gonna go pick up my aunt as she had been in the hotel for two days and we were going to kabbutz for a couple hours, talking about family matters since our relatives live in the Memphis area. Well, I went into the hotel lobby to pick her up after I had just got off the highway that morning. I went and knocked on her door to. I was downstairs waiting in the parking lot for her well as I was waiting in the lobby I asked the lady who was the front desk attendant about how to get to Flowood!! She seemed nice enough well that was until I tried to walk over to the breakfast bar and get me some coffee since I had travel lag. As I proceeded to walk over, she corrected me and said well you know our breakfast bar is only for a guest and I told her well is that the way you treat guest of your guess is that if they're on the highway and want some coffee you would deny them that??? at the end of the day I don't argue with people that have stick the hotel policies so at that point I just told her when my guest comes downstairs. Just tell her I'm in the parking lot. This was a very good learning experience because I actually had to work in the Jackson/pearl area in the next couple of days and this hotel reminded me where I'm not going to spend my money!!! Which is actually quite comical because my job actually pays for my hotels and I told them I would rather go down the street and spend more money if you treat the guest of your guest this way then this hotel is not welcoming enough and it doesn't deserve my hard earned cash. Thank you La Quinta you definitely knocked it out the park with this one!!!

Hallway carpets are stained and dirty, rooms were in a state of disrepair (shower handle falling off, tiles broken, doors binding, etc.) Also the manager or employees park their cars under front awning and leave them there all day.

Extremely questionable customer service that led to the worst experience that I've ever had at a Hilton property. I stayed here twice in late November 2020. No issues the first time, yet the following week (while staying on Hilton points), the staff's true nature reared its ugly side. After checking into room #310 via the Hilton app, I discovered that the room was actually a smoking room since it smelled like cigars, marijuana, mildew, and stinky sex. I took only one step inside of the doorway, and completely noped out- nope, nope, NOPE! Not gonna sleep here tonight. I indicated this to the front desk agent Brittany, of which she told me that she not only couldn't switch me into a non-smoking room, but that she wouldn't! Perplexed, I asked a different question, to which she yelled at me "THAT'S WHAT I TOLD YOU!!!" Surprised, I indicated that I would contact the Hilton Diamond Desk, as well as the corporate office. Agent Brittany said "YOU GO ON AND DO THAT!" Surprised, I walked over to the lobby and spent an hour with the Diamond Desk getting switched into a non-smoking room that I wound up accessing with the Hilton app's mobile key. This room on the other side of the building turned out to be just fine, and with no issues. I received an email the next day from the GM Marcella "Marcy" Jackson, apologizing and promising to refund my Hilton points. This ultimately never happened, which was surprising. I emailed Marcy about two weeks later asking her of the status of my points refund, of which I never received a reply. A few days later, I had to contact the Diamond Desk AGAIN to explain the situation, which led to obtaining my points refund (took all of 5 minutes to receive). What's ultimately strange about Marcy's silence is that I spoke to her in person regarding the ugly customer service performance by her agent the next morning, and was polite enough to ask her to address the situation with the unprofessional agent as a training experience. Aside from the nonexistent and unprofessional customer service, the property itself isn't bad. The furniture is slightly dated, yet the location is at the end of a line of hotels within the Ridgeland area of Jackson. Cleanliness or comfort are not the primary issues here- its the customer service. In all honesty, I truly believe that this property's employees think & operate as if this Homewood Suites is a cheap, run down hooker motel rather than a Hilton property. The current staff really doesn't give a damn about their customers here.

For $56 a night I can not have too high of expectations. . The bedding was clean, AC worked and the towels remained stocked which are some of the most important things to me. WiFi connection was also good You can tell the hotel is or recently went through cosmetic changes Things in this hotel are far from perfect but the upfront staff is the reason my family and I decided to stay. The room phone also did not work so bring your cell phone The staff let us know the exact problem in some of the rooms and provided us with room options , also some how the checked in price was 2 cent cheaper than the k line price so hey. Their phone etiquette is very poor but in person they are kind

This was the survey the hotel sent me. My comments below....Enjoy!…read more Where do I begin, We (3 ADT/4 CHD) were driving from Orlando to Dallas and trying to out run the storms. We ended getting 2 "suites" for the night. We check in walk to the elevator and we see blood marks in the elevator, water leaking from the ice machine that someone covered in foil and there were smells in the hallway that we told the kids was just incense. To the rooms...Our room was missing all bath towels and sheets for the pull out sofa. The other room was not only missing the same items, but the toilet was not able to flush do to the part inside was rusted out. We were able to add a trash bag in the tank to adjust the flow in order to flush. Both rooms had cigarette burns on the bedding, and both shower curtain rods were just about falling down. I went downstairs to advise the front desk person of our issues. I had a feeling there was no one else in maintenance to help with the toilet, but advised her and she seemed surprised about the missing towels and sheet. She mentioned nothing about the toilet. When she came up to the rooms a few minutes later with the towels and linen she did apologize for no towels and linens, but again didn't mention anything about the toilet. We made it through the night and I know none of us were able to sleep well. My wife mentioned to me that when she had taken a shower, it was the first time she had to shower on her toes. We noticed the breakfast signage in the lobby the night before and figured we would at least see what Roadway had to offer. The had cereal, Twinkies and those tiny cinnamon rolls you get 3 to a pack in a vending machine. Needless to say, we stopped at Whataburger 2 buildings down. I have stayed at my fair share of run down, un-kept hotels/motels, but this one takes the cake. Not sure how far this survey will go, but all the people we met in Ridgeland we amazing and friendly, just being at this hotel almost ruined the next 6 hours of driving. Please do something with the hotel, my wife and I are both in the travel industry and would not recommend this property to anyone. If it is the only room available, I would feel better staying at a rest stop on the highway. The only thing that we liked was that there was a decent restaurant in the same parking lot. Thanks for your time,
