Toilet paper on the floor

I had to park for the night. I went inside the store to use the bathroom and it was a disaster. Toilet paper all on the floors and the sink was filthy. 2 of the stalls were completely out of toilet paper. The employees act like they really don't care. I ordered a subway and another customer walked up behind me. The employee ask him what do you want. No professionalism at all. Another customer came in and wanted to get some coke and the machines were out of product. Maybe they were having a rough day with the holiday but still could have made everything better with a positive attitude. Being nice is free.

Another 90 minutes of driving and at 1:00 AM, I stopped for a bathroom break and then a long nap. I was here for about three hours and no one bothered me at all with the windows up and the windshield screen up. What's not to Love about a gas station that doesn't mind you borrowing their parking lot for a while? Inside, the bathroom was clean and certainly the parking lot was clean. The snacks area was well stocked and the coolers were full of very cold drinks. Hooray! [Review 15972 overall - 92 in Mississippi - 1477 of 2021.]

Lake Mississippi situated between Jackson and Meridian Mississippi.. this is a newer Love's about 2 years old has the shop tire pass for the truckers nice food court too. although staffing issues for some reason in this part of the Mississippi still tend to be trouble so I'm not just with Love's but places in general. I pulled in last night with a blown out side while in a trailer tire normally they're Tire techs are 24 hours but here they go home at 11 they have no choice they just don't have the Manpower there currently training some people to hopefully if not just have the full mechanics at least a Tire tech at night.. as for the inside of the store it's kept up very clean the manager does a good job you could see pride is taken in this one compared to some loves it look like pigsties even shitholes.. the staff is fairly pleasant for the most part coffee's kept fresh which is good fuel islands are kept nice and clean. the place is kept quite presentable again compared to some other Loves that I've been to in this area.. the ATMs at loves so as I found out, you could get three hundred bucks a pop yay!!for 395 service fee standard.. where as pilots and T/A I think cut it at 200 per trans.. I know pilot does for sure cheap bastards lol. Shaw shut it down here for the night sure as hell wasn't going nowhere with a flat and went to sleep got up and had a Subway. this one has two little food court as I mentioned it has a godfather's Pizza Express found in a lot of Love's along with not only a Subway but a Chester's Chicken.. had a nice freshly-prepared Subway roast beef deluxe on wheat with the cheddar cheese they also had the Sun chips that are hard to find that I like wish I could find a buy the big bag the tomato basil and cheese yum yummy... so I will know and a huge parking lot of this one too of course even the biggest parking lots fill up at night if you're too late I was just lucky somebody slept half the day like a fellow yelper named Kent also a short over-the-road truck driver but likes to get up at o dark thirty and run so I rolled in here about 12:30 and there was a parking space woohoo..I wished I could have got the flat fixed but as I mentioned staffing issues they're trying to get it to where they can open it up again at least during the week 24/7 with a Tire tech..so we'll have to wait and see what happens but all in all this is still been a good loves something to surprise me though is the cell signal is kicking they must have got another tower nearby cuz I have Sprint usually Sprint sucked out here always has but I've gotten Good LTE signal but only kicked it out for about 10 minutes went to roam..then came right back again.. never did before. you would Cruise off at that Lake exit roll into Love's look at phone.. NADA nol zip zilch nothing at all for service even roam. I used to have to pay for the Wi-Fi that if I wanted to enjoy some downtime but it's all good.. they've got a good manager here who works with what he has given the area and does a hell of a job keeping this place up.

Kudos to the cashier Tonya who works like a BOSS! Have not seen an employee work as hard. Also saw another woman busy restocking. Good job!

This location is Just OK enough to use the restrooms. The bathroom was mediocre. There's a lot of flies, so I wasn't going near the food.

Coffee is very bad. No ice in soda dispenser, poor attitude of the workers. Will not be stopping there again.

Burns & Burns Gas Station

Burns & Burns Gas Station

Is this a "2 stars for the experience because it's Pachuta, MS, (population 245) and 20 years…read morebehind" or a "5 stars for the experience because it's a gas station that time forgot in Pachuta, MS, (population 245)" type review? The 5 stars above indicate which direction I'm going. As a Mississippi girl, my coming of age experience was defined by stopping in absurd gas stations on the way to state parks or in pursuit of some dream or other my father had. We were well-accustomed to being the only children in the store with shoes, politely asking for the bathroom key, and running around back to wait our turn in the roach hole that was the outdoor restroom. I was used to the single pumps and my father mumbling under his breath about having to move the car to get the cheapest gas. There was always a lecture from my mother before we entered about being polite to the people we ran into and showing how polite we were by not staring. Afterwards, she would tell us that places like this were full of "local color." She meant it. As a New Orleanean, I know local color when I see it. This gas station was awash with shoeless children, toothless truckers, a one-armed cashier, two silent farmers, a sleeping employee, and a hapless tourist from "way up north." There was the family who communicated with each other by screeching across distances instead of walking, the horrified looking home-health aid who mumbled to herself about "calm before the storm" and one local kid refilling 18 gas cans in the back of his truck. I also know a gas station that's been untouched since 1993. There were only three small signs that let me know this was 2013 instead of my childhood: 1. The all-caps sign on the door, telling young men to "PULL UP THEIR PANTS OR DO NOT COME IN HERE EXPECTING TO BE SERVED." 2. The candy, which reflected several brand changes that were new. 3. The bathrooms were now located inside the convenience store instead of out back. There were hand-written little signs around the register, telling people to pay for papers before reading them, make sure they were on the right pump, and not to roll their own cigarettes at the counter. The clerk was complaining non-stop to the employee asleep on the counter about her "boring potatey soup" and how hungry she was. The gas pumps are just one type of gas per pump. Want 87? Too bad you just pulled up to the 93 pump. Gotta pull the car around. There were no credit card swipes on the pumps, either. Gotta walk in and pre-pay, then get the hose from the side of the pump, lift the lever, and actually hold the handle. This is pumping gas from when it was work, not some candy-ass playdate! Don't go out of your way to come here, no. But the time warp effect means it's a realistic portrait of small-town Southern living circa 1993. If you do stop by, make sure to pick up a copy of the latest jailbreakers newspaper so you can oogle all the mugshots and read the police reports...only $1. Accessibility notes: steep ramp on curb. High pumps. Medium counter. No Braille signage. Pumps are not accessible and have no call attendant button. Door opens out.
