Worst rental experience with Scott Brown Properties in Denton. From the beginning of our tenancy, we had repeated maintenance problems. Whenever we contacted management, maintenance staff would visit, charge us hundreds of dollars, and often fail to properly resolve the issue. For example, our smoke detector was malfunctioning. They only replaced the battery and charged us approximately $300, but the problem continued. When I emailed management to explain that we had been charged even though the issue was not fixed, I received no response. In another instance, a drawer or rack hinge became loose. Maintenance simply applied glue, which took about 10 minutes, but we were later charged approximately $400, including labor charges listed at $75 per hour. Before moving out, I thoroughly cleaned the apartment and removed all of our belongings. However, Scott Brown Properties did not return our approximately $3,000 security deposit, claiming there were numerous issues. Based on my experience, the maintenance charges were excessive, communication was poor, and several problems were never properly resolved. I would recommend that future tenants carefully document the condition of the apartment, keep copies of all maintenance requests, and request written explanations for every charge. read more

I came to Scott Brown Properties after doing a bit of research. Jordan was amazing and patient. She stayed to show me properties even when I was late. She answered all my questions and my application was completed the process was very easy. I and my two littles love our new home, and when we showed Jordan the loose kitchen sink and the door that wouldn't close in the kitchen, she took photos and sent it off immediately. The apartments are older, (which is fine), but it is clean and reasonably priced. It appeared to be clean and quiet, and there was a lot of green space for the littles to run. I have pretty extensive experience for an individual having been involved in 50+ real estate transactions in my 60+ times around the sun on this planet. My experience yielded I had signed a contract and was called away out of state for a personal family emergency being the closest living relative. I was detained by further health crises for those in my personal life. In the meantime, I was told I had to fund the lease agreement I had signed 12/22. I explained that I would not be funding a leas agreement where I would not be occupying a property. The agent had his associate check with owner on their decision as to acceptance. I was informed that the owner would accept a later date in December. I made the advisement that I would not be returning to Denton by 12/31. I received a text - the associate had gone seemingly dark to my advisement with the agent now responding by text where we had used email and/or talking on the phone/in person meetings to date. I responded that there are three basic components to an agreement: offer, acceptance and consideration. No consideration, no agreement. I was once again advised by text to speak to the general manager. The general manager and I had a brief conversation where I laid out the above steps. I was advised if I wouldn't be taking the property, it would go back on the market. My professional history has yielded that market forces drive the transaction value. Customer confidence yields the viability to complete the iterative steps to bring a transaction to completion. Customer satisfaction brings the customer back again. In the spirit of "we only get one chance to make a good first impression," mine wasn't met owing to the disconnect and handing off of the transaction from what I was told was a single point of contact and an assigned person in their absence. read more

If there is an option for 0 or negative number...i would like to give that.very worst experience i got. me and my other 3 friends took lease for 1 year agreement in 1220 avenue a, and have paid 2350$ for security deposit(refundable) as me and my friends do not have rental history and ssn, additionaly 200$ application fee and 100$ adminission fee which are non refundable. firstly, they gave us the uncleaned and damaged house when i have arrived on the starting date of the lease. i was told that they will give the house cleaned and painted. but what they have done is some patch work paintings on wall and uncleaned home. i called and asked for the maintenance they told me it was already cleaned.i was like okay and we ourselves cleaned the whole home...also there were many cockroaches in home. me, my friends with cockroches family lived there.once the lease ends we vaccated the home. later when we asked for the deposit we got the bill for charging maintenance reimbursement 73$remove trash 500$, maid service 350$,repplace drip pans and filter 50$, replace damaged mini blind 125$ this is actually more they have charged than what actually it costs. but even then i was okay with this. HERE COMES THE ACTUAL THING they charged for painting walls, ceilings and doors 1500$. total bill was 2598$ they deducted from the deposit and in return got a bill to pay 248$ more. bro why would you paint ceilings? when it was already in good condition. also they have painted the walls were there was a black marks but charged 1500$.......OMG Like seriously???????? also when i wanted to talk regarding this bill the manager KYLE MULLENS was so rude, he didnt even answer to my questions and he cut the call while i was asking why did he charge for the painting 1500$. this was not the first time. i got the rude behaviour from them before as well.GENESIS CUEVAS also was rude, we never felt they are friendly to their tenants except while taking new lease from them. later on whatever you ask, you get always a rude answers from them.only person i experienced good is from Isabella gutierrez. she was the only one speak polite. while taking lease i was warned many times from many people saying that those scott brown properties will never return your money dont believe them!!!! but me and my friends are fools who though they were wrong and believed in scott brown properties. and lost my deposit + 248$...... will never recommend or take this sbp. this was not happened only for me. the same thing was happened for other people as well. they told me simply they charge something and never return us our deposit. this is a trick they always use..... worsteeee one read more

Hello community! I've been renting with Scott Brown for 2+ years now. Honestly, I love the home I'm renting, but I'm rather pissed about two unpleasant interactions with their maintenance men! :( 11/9/2023: Had a weird experience with a technician named Alan. He was acting very creepy, calling me "honey, baby, and sweetheart" the entire day, looking me over with wondering eyes, and was clearly taking an extra-long time to complete this work order (he finally left at 8:30pm!). His flirting escalated when he said he "felt bad for how long he was taking" so he offered to buy my son and I dinner. I declined his offer and said I'd arrange our dinner later. Shortly after, he left to the hardware store again and when he came back in the door, he attempted to hand me $20+ dollars for my son and I to get dinner. At this point, I strongly declined the cash and requested that he replace the water heater. I called my boyfriend crying due to how uncomfortable I felt, and he shortly came over. Once he arrived, Alan finally left me alone. Of course, I reported this to Scott Brown mgmt. and was told "that's just the way he is, he treats all of our female staffers this way." Wtf?! Not only do they know about his behavior, but they don't care?! Offering money was way over the line! When I first moved in (around June 2021), a maintenance worker named Adam came to fix a few minor issues in the house. His demeanor was friendly at first, as he discussed his wife and children and other mundane topics. The vibe changed completely before he left; he couldn't fix the hinge in the doorway and said he'd return the next day to fix it. Before leaving, he asked if he could kiss me. I strongly declined his request and then he got very angry at me, screaming "why not?!" Thankfully, he left my house without kissing me, but then immediately called me several times, texting me asking if he could speak to me. Goes without saying this behavior is creepy and scary! I do not recommend living in ANY of Scott Brown Properties, I thought that since the apartments were just built (pods at hickory) and I would be one of the first to live in it there would not be as many problems as an older apartment. I was wrong. When first moving in there was a bunch of mess and appliances left all over the place from the construction people who had been working on it. No one had cleaned the unit prior to me moving in and it was nasty with dust, bugs, etc. After taking a look around I noticed multiple things were not put in correctly and needed to be fixed, after putting in multiple maintenance requests it took them awhile to even come repair anything. And once they did they would always have to leave since they didn't bring any tools with them, they would end up coming back a couple days later or I would have to call them because they would just not come back at all. The first time using the dryer it flooded the place and when I tried to contact them it yet again took a long time for anyone to come even though the problem was pretty significant. As months passed by there was less problems that I noticed until I found mold and had to report it to them to come get rid of it which again took a even longer time, the people who came just scraped it off and painted over it the first time then when it came back they finally got rid of it after almost a month of trying to get someone to come do it. After this I decided to check the unit incase there was more mold and my first time opening the dishwater since I don't use it, there was moldy water. Still it AGAIN took a long time for someone to come do anything about it. The customer service is not good, they are very rude and it was hard to get in contact with someone that could help me. I lived in a Scott Brown property for almost 2 years. Before our lease was up, I ended up buying my own home. The house was a disaster when we moved in after they cleaned. There was mold all over the kitchen, broken windows, 3 outlets didn't work, broken glass, old mattresses, rats in the house, and old debris in the back yard, nails in the carpet, the converted garage smelled like pee, and much much more. We ended up having to go through the city to have them clean it up. When we toured the house they told us that the problems we saw at the time (about half listed) would be fixed before we moved in since there was a month between old tenants moving out and us moving in. Well, of course, none of these were fixed by the move in date. We were mostly mad about the glass in the backyard considering we paid over $800 in PET DEPOSITS. Like how unsafe? Any of our animals could've been injured easily. Lucky, all of us got together and cleaned for a couple days before we actually moved in. We had some awesome people watch our dogs until the backyard was safe for them. After months of going back and forth they finally started to fix some of our issues. It definitely was not easy. We had to hire some of our own guys to fix the major issues on hand immediately. One of our roommates is super allergic to black mold (it covered our bottom kitchen cabinets) and she was getting really sick. Scott Browns first solution was to paint over it. This did not help my roommates condition and we had to call them back out to fix it. They really do not care about anything besides making money. I'm giving this place two stars because they were such a crappy rental service that I was actually motivated to buy my own house in the Denton area. And before my lease was up on the second year, I successfully purchased my house. read more

Three days before my move-in date they denied my wife's Application after charging us a second Application fee. For a dog and a baby. Which was written on my first application. Deposit was given three weeks prior. My guess was just to pocket the $50. Super inconvenient considering The weeks wasted. If they would've done their due diligence on the first application all of this could've been avoided. Now we have to start all over with no place to go. I have been waiting a long time to post this. Here are some things you potential renters need to know about Scott Brown, and about their rentals on Lovers Ln in Krum. PLEASE read. 1) You will here and feel loud music and bass every single weekend through the night usually until 3 am. What they fail to tell you is that there is a big event center insanely close by. It looks like a barn, so unless you already knew it was an event center you'd have no clue otherwise. Woke my children up all the time, even with their sound machines on. Not only will there be music from the event center; BUT also the residents near there love to play their own music too. They do not care. 2) When we moved in there was melted crayon splatter stains on the cabinets, paint splatter where it shouldn't be. The paint job was just horrible in general. Nails were left in almost every wall and just painted over. Don't even get me started about the mounds of someone else's hair I had to clean out of each bathroom tub AND sink. 3) The dumpsters are CONSTANTLY being filled by everyone in that area that isn't supposed to be using them. And oh yes, Scott Brown will blame you, the residents for all of it. When I say full I mean it. People have even put the hood of a car in them before. 4) The water might possibly shut off for DAYS at a time. It happened way too often. There will be no notice given whatsoever. You'll end up contacting them because they don't reach out. And no, they will not help in any way. 5) They'll fix things. Just for them to mess up again. I'll end saying this, we were IMPECCABLE renters for 4 years. Never missed a payment. Never paid late. Rarely called maintenance, and when we did it was because of the insanely outdated appliances not working just completely breaking. And somehow they decided that they are keeping our entire deposit+ asking us to pay them even more because they need to paint/repair walls, a door knob, and baseboards. Oh and the air filter needs to be changed (which they routinely come by and change but all of a sudden now we are being charged for it?) Do y'all remember the horrible paint job and stains on the wall that were there when we moved in? Yeah. I have picture proof of all of that. They have those pictures. I sent them in when we moved in. Yet they're still keeping our money and charging us more. I have rented my entire life, and this was the worst experience. I just so happen to run across a few reviews of Scott Brown Properties and I was like I guess I can put my thoughts. I actually live on one of their properties now and have been for about 8 months. When I intially moved into the townhome I was showed a town home of where I would be living but they actually put me in a totally different home. Which had different fixtures and different floors. One main attraction was the tile floors and I ended getting some kind of cheap wood laminate. Also the new paint was horrible. I have wood colored cabinets and other places where they left the wood color and you can tell they rushed bc it splashes of paint every where. Also when I moved in there were immediately water leaks under every sink in the town home and AC unit. They did fix it but I feel it should have been addressed before I moved in. Also there was a very BAD BAD ant problem. I mean very bad. One day I came home and there were thousand of ants in my bathroom and washroom. And no one came out until the following Monday which this occured on a Friday. The person they have to come and fix things is really nice but it's like he half fixes things. I requested my bathtub be recaulked and he came and caulked half of the tub. I had running water in the bathroom. He came and tighten the handles and striped the cold water handled to where when you turned it it just kept spinning. He had to return and fix it which was days later. As I'm typing this I am realizing that any time I have made a request for something to be fixed it was half done and the request took days. I may change their rating from 3 stars to 2 stars. I moved into the university park apartments a few weeks ago with my boyfriend. From the moment that I walked into the apartment I knew that we would have trouble with maintenance and management. On move in day the apartment was still not ready for us to move in. There were extra appliances, ants, stange stains, rust in the bathtubs, and no hot water in the bathrooms. A week after living in the apt the toilets started to make a bubbling sound. A day after the toilets started to bubble feces and urine started coming up through the bathtub drain. I have called maintenance numerous times and they have only came out to the apartment once. When they did come out they were unable to fix any of our problems. We have fixed many of the issues ourselves. There is no excuse for this, Scott brown needs to get it together! I will also attach pictures onto the website for proof. read more

Emergency Situation (pests): You would think a management company would be responsible for the properties they're managing... right?! Well, not in their point of view. I am apparently responsible for the mounds of ants on the property (outside), in the drive way and the yard. I called to ask them what could be done because the mound of ants in the driveway made its way into my vehicle ( my car is clean, no food or garbage of any kind to attract these pests). I can't get in the car because they sting me, fire ants! I called to see if they could get someone out here or if I call a company, if they would cover. My experience with Scott Brown Properties was so terrible I rather invest in buying my own house. If you are planning on renting from these people, you have to be prepared, because they aren't trust worthy enough. Make sure you take pictures and videos before moving in, keep all your records and bills. They don't even put the usage of gas and water we use a month on our bill. We pay our rent on time every month PLUS we put an extra $50-60 towards the water and gas. Then they email us a month later for two years now saying we owe them $50 MORE for gas and water. So that equals $100 a month for gas and water for the two of us who's barely home and live in a 1 bedroom house. That is total bullshit, because we've live in a house with 5 people that were terrible with conserving water here in Denton and the total average was about the same that we pay to Scott Brown for the two of us who barely use water and gas. Of course we pay our bills, because we're responsible, but I really don't like this company at all. They should be investigated for over billing customers. Also don't expect them to mail out your deposit or get a notice, you have to go to the office to get it from them, from what my friends told me about their past experience. read more

I have lived in this apartment building for one year, University Park Apartment on Wothers St., and it has flooded every single time it has rained. After a year of dealing with the Scott Brown Properties and the property owner *unknown never contacted me* I get a call from Ike Obialo license# 707242 at Scott Brown Properties (940) 209-0152 saying they will be bringing someone to view the unit inside, with a notice of five hours? I'm at work I don't get off for 8. I asked how he can show a unit that floods every time it rains and he said it's in the lease the property can be viewed etc. I asked if I can object to the viewing because the property floods and shouldn't be shown because that's just not right. Ike states again he can show the property because it's on the lease... They're literally going to rent out a two bedroom apartment where a bedroom floods entirely across the floor and mold has grown on the walls and they are discolored and bulging out. They've been notified of this so many times over a year. I wonder if this happened to the last tenant before me and they just keep the same cycle of scraping off the mold and repainting the trimmings to rent a uninhabitable property. Scott Brown Properties treats college students like CRAP. Looked for a 4 bedroom apartment/house last summer and got stuck hunting with a guy who obviously hated his job and was in it for the money. The guy loathed showing us houses and rushed us each time we "made him" take us to a new place. There were some nice duplexes that ended up being open for rent, but we took a different duplex that wasn't leased by Scott Brown. Glad we never have to deal with them again! read more

I am honestly shocked at the reviews of this company. I have had excellent service with Scott Brown after living at one of their apartments for two years. I would give them a stellar review except for a few instances I'll describe below. First off, they are extremely quick to maintenance requests, usually taken care of within a day or two. The apartment I lived in had brand new appliances, nice floors and carpet, and very well-kept. Within the two years they would come and upgrade the place occasionally. They are very quick to respond to questions through email and phone. I was late on rent one month and instead of charging me the fee, they allow one month fee to be dropped. During my last month, they contacted me at least a day prior to show my apartment and even after I accidently left pots and items in the refrigerator, they gave me my full refund. They constantly have deals to get people to renew, including a free month's rent or carpet cleaning one year. Now I had a few issues with them that since they have taken care of but was so bad at the time it's hard to forget. My complex was completely infested with german roaches. It was so bad that neighbors had moved out even despite monthly treatments. Eventually they took care of the problem but it was so bad we should have received some sort of discounted rent. They were crawling on me in my sleep and got into all my appliances. YUUUUCK! Also, I had a quite lengthy dispute about a pet deposit I refused to pay because I mentioned in the contract that I would tentatively have my cat there (but she ended up stayed elsewhere). They went so far as to threaten eviction until I finally talked to someone in person and they dropped the charge. Ridiculous. In conclusion, if you work with Scott Brown associates in a nice and respectful manner, they will treat you well. We're all adults, this ain't the dorm anymore kids. They care about their properties and if you take care of them, they'll ensure you have a good experience. read more

I think I've been fair with most of my reviews, and I really cannot come up with a single nice thing to say about Scott Brown Properties. The receptionist is unprofessional. While we were there, she let the phone ring while she talked to a puppy someone brought in. Every time we went to Scott Brown to meet with an agent, she somehow never mentioned to them that we were waiting. My roommate and I found an apartment (On our own, which I was okay with) and signed a lease. Garret, our leasing agent, didn't know how much rent or the deposit was and we had to remind him that water was included the price. Now, I do not expect for someone who deals with so many properties to have that kind of information memorized. But I would have felt better if he had reviewed the information while we were waiting in the lobby for 45 minutes instead of having him ask us "How much is rent again?". We felt relieved after signing our lease because the hunt was over. Oh wait. It wasn't. Garret called to tell me that he leased us an apartment that was already leased. Apparently the current tenants renewed their lease back in April and somehow, it didn't make it into the system. This was two weeks before we were supposed to move into the apartment. Garret said "That sucks. I'll work to find you a new place." Katie, the property manager, set us up with Jonathan King. Katie said Jonathan would take care of our every need and find us a place that was even better than the apartment we signed a lease for. Jonathan King is one of Scott Brown's senior leasing agent. (Oddly enough, he is also the same Jonathan King who left the 5 star review of Scott Brown - he never mentions he works for them, by the way.) Now it seems that Katie believes Jonathan is one of their best representations of customer service. Some of his shining moments: - He asked how much money I made and how much I paid in student loans in order to pressure me into a place. -He did not show us around the apartments at all, but stood in the living room and texted the whole time. -One of the kitchens was covered in bugs and he attempted to quickly hide them. -He explained that Scott Brown couldn't give us a deal on the Centennial Apartments because "the owner is from Saudi Arabia or Iran". Katie quoted me prices on all three apartments. Jonathan told me we could not have any of the apartments for those rates, and even calls Katie to tell her she was wrong. The property manager didn't even take the time to discuss rent rates before promising us a price that they couldn't offer. Needless to say, we didn't call them back. They didn't even refund us our application fees after the mess they created. Truthfully, I don't expect that much from a property management company. I just want them to accurately keep their records, be polite when we're interacting, and do as they promise. Scott Brown provided none of those things. They do not care about you as a customer, let alone as a human being. Take your business and your hard-earned money elsewhere. read more

Scott brown is now I the verge of terrible as far as helpful. I have requested to see 4 places in the past 2 days. By the time I speak to someone, they informed me that 1 of those is already leased. Within hrs of posting. When I ask how that's possible, no one knows. Today I had 3 places lined up to view at 4pm. Graham calls to confirm but tells me 2 of those are no longer available. Since yesterday? That's impossible, since Maggie told me that you can't see a place without a 24hr notice. I hung up the phone in tears. I never directly rented through Scott Brown, because of their reputation in Denton, but they took over managing my complex about a month before I moved out. I have tried, in vain, for over a month now to just talk to a human being about the status of my deposit. I left several polite and descriptive voice messages and emails for Tonya, but have never received one word, or seemingly one thought, in reply. While I could definitely use the money, their blatant lack of concern or care for their customers is shockingly explicit. I have house plants that are more responsive than the employees of Scott Brown. I don't live in Denton anymore so visiting them in person is not only inconvenient, it's not possible most days of the week for me. But, as surprising as it is, I would really like my deposit back and, as a college student, I could really use that money. If I was Scott Brown, if there really is a person behind the cardboard name, I would rebrand or re-evaluate my hiring practices. Acquiring a quasi-monopoly in Denton will surely bring one business, but poor customer service and business practices will eventually lose that business as well as draw the ire of large swaths of former renters. If you live in Denton and have no other option but to rent from Scott Brown - then move to some other city. read more

There seems to be a mindset at Scott Brown Properties that the tenant need not be viewed as a person who is entitled to fair and respectful treatment. The customer service bar is set exceedingly low. From unscheduled property inspections to text messages from leasing agents who refer to tenants as being "fuc@#ng douche bags of the highest order" for merely wanting the bare and essential service of a 24-hour notice prior to showing an apartment to a prospective renter, Scott Brown Properties continues to remind the community that they will fall short of their often espoused principles of "quality, professionalism and integrity." Would I recommend renting from Scott Brown Properties? No. The moment you turn in your 60-day move-out notice, be prepared to be met with the largest wave of unprofessional, disrespectful intrusions this side of the iron curtain. If you are looking to live closer to school or work, consider renting a house with a coworker or classmate, and staying away from Scott Brown Properties and its ilk. read more

I didn't even sign a lease at one of these places. I wanted to, and expressed my interest, but the guy who represents Scott Brown (Jason Long) was extremely unprofessional and frankly, disrespectful, so I decided to find another place. First, he a scheduled a meeting with me to show me apartments, and didn't show up because he forgot. Then, he didn't reply to my emails for two weeks. Then, when he finally did reply, he actually sent me an email that only said "yes" when I asked him what I needed to do to sign a lease. When I finally started getting information from him, he didn't even know who I was and actually mixed me up with another person (I guess looking through past emails is too complicated). These people are unorganized and will screw you over. Don't live in their units; I'm most definitely not. read more

I have lived with Scott Brown for the past two years and just signed on for a third year! The reason being is because they clearly have the best properties in Denton with affordable and convenient locations that a college student such as myself can utilize. I currently live two blocks from UNT campus which is walking distance from class, this has not only helped me immerse myself in the student body and campus life but also has greatly improved my GPA because it is so close to home. Nena Coker has been particularly helpful and any issue or problem I have she has completely remedied or found someone who can fix said problem. My former roommate has been living with Scott Brown for going on 4 years now and this is mostly due to Nena. She has always had us, her clients best interests at the forefront of her mind and will most certainly continue to do so. read more

I was extremely skeptical about renting from Scot Brown because of all the horrible reviews from years ago. My brother used to rent from them years ago and he didn't have the worst experience. I figured that I would give them a try since they had a lot of properties that I was interested in. Ike met me at the apartment I was interested. He was super easy to talk to and answered all my questions. He sent me to the website to get submit an application. The application was hard to understand and get to at first but after I called and talked to Corey, she walked was through step by step and I was able to sign a lease the next day. DO NOT RENT HERE. This is going to be a long review but it's honest and worth the read! I am a transfer TWU student who currently lives in Houston. Understanding that Denton is a college town, me and my dad wanted to get a head start on apartment searching so that we did not run out of options. Scott Brown Properties owns so many different locations that it's impossible not to search them up, but be warned!! This was NOT a pleasant experience! Right off the bat, I was receiving different information from different people. I was under the impression that the bellaire apartments were $750 "all bills paid" (meaning utilities AND WIFI are included in the 750) because that's what I was TOLD in an email. It wasn't until right when we were fixing to put down a deposit on the place that they slip in that utilities will be an extra $85 a month, oh and NO WIFI. Making rent $835 for a STUDIO apt! We put the deposit down anyways over the phone because we were scared we'd have no other options. After putting it down, Scott Brown Properties sent me the lease electronically and told me it needed to be signed within the week or it would expire. Mind you our appointment to actually SEE the property was in about a week and a half (we do not live close to Denton). So, they asked me to sign a lease without seeing the place first. After some deliberation, they agreed to postpone the lease signing AS LONG AS we signed immediately after seeing the place. Fast forward to our viewing - on the day of our viewing my dad and I had other viewings set up as well so that in this trip to Denton we could knock out my living situation altogether. We arrived at Scott Brown Properties about 8:55am to speak with an actual person face to face and perhaps look into their other properties as well (they own a BUNCH). Well, the front desk lady was super passive about the fact we were there 5 minutes before opening. We were actually happily waiting in the car, until we saw said lady open the front door to the building. No employee there was pleasant or acted interested in helping us AT ALL. For some reason we had already been written off, we could not get any helpful information. They wouldn't give us the time of day. They denied to show us any other property because they were booked with appointments for the day, fair enough. But in heavy renting months perhaps consider having more than just ONE guy showing all the apartments. Their attitudes were just flat out rude, like we had inconvenienced them with our business. We were hoping for help from a leasing agent and we left the building with more questions than answers. You can imagine how upsetting it was to try and find a safe place to live in a whole new town to finish school, only to be shot down. They guy who actually showed us the place was nice. However, he was still telling us that $750 included utilities, which I've come to find out is false. I asked "750 INCLUDES utilities?" multiple times and every time I got a "yes". Just a whole lot of miscommunication in the entire establishment. "All bills paid" DOES NOT mean all bills paid. If you are going to rent here - ask every particular question multiple times or you will get screwed over. The apartment was okay but nothing special, certainly not worth $835. And we were already over it. Needless to say, we did not sign a lease. We saw another "for rent" sign on a Struga Management property and we called and instantaneously got the help we needed, and I 1000% recommend them over Scott Brown. Their properties are better kept, cheaper, and WAY NICER employees. Oh and Scott Brown Properties has since not responded to any of our emails about returning our $300... after all the misconceptions and unpleasant meetings we figured the very least they could do was respond. If you are a student looking , look elsewhere. read more
