But the absolute stars of the menu are the burgers. Sycamore's patties are almost literally melt-in-your-mouth fare, juicy but not especially greasy. I like mine plain but ask about some of their specialty "off-menu" offerings to see how creative this hometown eatery can get with an American classic. One thing I have noticed about the food is that it is rarely too salty, likely owing to their attention to the needs of their clientele, many of whom are older folks who have been eating there for decades. That's a welcome change from normal fast-food fare. And speaking of fast food, Sycamore's prices easily beat similar fare in town. A regular cheeseburger will run you just $3.25, with a huge double cheeseburger coming in at $4.25. You can easily feed a family of four here for under $20.00 and be full. As a large group of 'out of towners' Bertha sure did reach out to us making us feel welcome. We had to have passed a dozen employees where no one spoke at all... but Bertha went completely out of her way to reach us. She gave us some good suggestions on foods and event told us alittle bit about herself and how much she loves her job. She even gave us some cool facts about the meats that come to Ingles 82. The store was super clean with even cleaner bathrooms. Great experience while shopping and even better when we hit the gas station because we got $.15 off each gallon thanks to the $330 we spent inside the store. Love Ingles!

They have homemade jams and jellies and canned foods for sale, Ashe Co. cheese, fresh baked goods, local soaps (including Hogwash!) among other things. They sell ice cream and drinks, including Dippin' Dots. They also have live bait for fishing, rafts for river floating, snacks, and more. The two people working there today were exceptionally friendly. They asked if I needed help finding anything. When I informed them that I didn't need help and couldn't stay long because my dog was in the car, they understood and proceeded to give me two small dog treats to give him! (He loved them.)
