I purchased a "Mainstays" Executive Ergonomic Office Chair for my wife. The chair required assembly. The packaging of the parts and assembly instruction was THE BEST I've ever encountered anywhere and for anything! Kudos! Most imported items requiring assembly end up creating nothing but frustration and anger. This item was absolutely a pleasure to assemble, and only required a very reasonable amount of effort and time. I may buy one for me too! read more

My husband and I have been placing grocery pickup orders for 3 years here and they are really great. They communicate well with substitutions, are prompt with the pickup, and are really great to interact with. So grateful for something so easy that saves us time! Visited in a Monday. Go to food lion at the other end of the parking lot. Half their produce was empty or rotted. Frozen aisles and dry food aisles were missing a lot of main/key items. And the checkout lines were long and slow. I know this sounds normal standard for a walmart, but in a touristy area with competition so close,they should do better. read more

Bought a new car seat here. When I got the box home and opened it, a different, much cheaper seat from a different company was inside. We were in a rush to travel, so no time to immediately return. Looks like we have to suck up their major incompetence, if not deception. I go here all of the time. Things are clean, employees are working hard to stock shelves, when using self checkout if there is a problem you can get it quickly resolved, and the Subway in there is also good. If you are in need of things I highly recommend this place! read more

DO NOT sign up for grocery delivery. They took my money & fee with a Delivery set up for later that day but I received a email that it was delayed with no information on when it would be delivered. When I called to find out if my order was still coming that night I was told it was not garenteed. In fact they could not even guarantee I would get it the following day. They've already been paid for the groceries plus a service fee but now they can't deliver the groceries. I was told if they couldn't get a driver for the delivery by the next day the order would be automatically canceled. What good is that? Don't offer a service that you do not provide. read more

This Walmart is a serious joke. I checked online for the iPhone 6s. Online said it was in stock and available at the Boone Walmart. Drove to Walmart and waited 20 minutes to find one person working in Electronics on a Saturday. The phone was not in stock nor did they have any in stock as the online website suggested. I was tried to be up sold to an I phone 7! Nope! I made the 30 minute drive to the Lenoir Walmart and was taken care of.Lenoir Walmart will now be my go to store! read more

I get that this store is located in a college town, but they are very limited on what they have forcing you to order it online and sent to the store or getting it from somewhere else. One time I had to get things for a photo shoot of food and I was in the bakery waiting for some help. There where two women working one day me and couldn't stop what she was doing to help me. I had to say excuse me four times to get the other girls attention. I was waiting there for about ten minutes, if there was another place in town to get what I needed I would have gone to them instead. read more

I've been to better and I've been to worse... The deals here were comparable, though... My boyfriend found a jacket for $5... He bought two... lol I found an awesome scarf for $1... They're open 24 hours, which is good for people that forget things from out of town and they're right in the middle of the city, so that's helpful... I like the new self-checkout design... Instead of only four registers and leaving people congregating in the middle of the aisle to wait, it's set up more as a square that you walk inside with registers on the edges, leaving the aisle open and creating more space for more registers... read more

Huge store, do yourself a favor and so not shop at peak times. It's a college town and everyone shops here(there's not a lot of choices here). Expect to be in line for awhile, they just don't like to have more than 3 or 4 registers open for some reason. read more

One regular checkout open. One. While waiting (!), I flagged the front-end manager over, but instead of walking 10 steps, she shouted "whatcha need?" I said "more check outs." She yelled into her radio in a snotty tone "Management, customers want more checkouts!" When I was in the car, I called the store to see I'd the manager knew what was going on up front. Beverly gave me a bunch of excuses and told me she called up all the assistant managers and extra help they had in the store to the front. So, all the help they had amounts to ONE CHECKOUT. Walmart is a Walmart. I've never been a huge Walmart fan myself, but if you need something, it's the place to go. This isn't the worst Walmart ever. I personally never experienced the bad service that the other review has mentioned and I've been going to this one for years. They're open 24 hours and have a mega selection. In Boone, it's really the only option for a lot of things. The ONLY reason I gave it 4 stars (instead of 3) is because you do have to give them props for the recent upgrades - they remodeled and added a great new grocery section (although I still prefer Harris Teeter) and expanded their stock. They also cleaned the store up a bit, which is nice. I've always found the staff to be friendly myself, but then again, I guess it's hit or miss. read more

I feel like this location gets some unnecessary bad reviews. Yes, they quickly run out of stock of certain items, but typically it's only on Monday afternoons when that happens. This location gets crazy busy due to its location and all the college students buying groceries there, but I've always had a pleasant experience, produce and meat selection is fantastic, and never had poor service. Rest of store outside of grocery section is always clean and well kept. Good selection of products too if needing something last minute. read more

My family came up to stay in a cabin with an absolutely beautiful creek near Boone. From March 16th thru March 23rd.2019. We just love Boone's weather. We did see a dusting of snow, on the 21st. First time ever my daughter of 8, saw snow! We went sledding up on Beech mtn. The Super Walmart in Boone is so much better than here in Gainesville Fl. The Walmart employee's were so helpful! The people in Boone are so very friendly! We plan on moving perhaps this year to the Boone area. Leave all this heat and humidty, the bugs! Not to mention the Hurricanes. So many dangerous thunderstorms. We'll be waving bye to Florida! read more

I haven't been able to figure out why they call this a "Super" Walmart...hmmmm... cuz it is NOT! It isn't a regular one either cuz it does have groceries....hmmm... So I hear, the issue is, they wanted to expand into a normal sized Super Walmart but the city said "NOPE!" So let's get down to the issues. Because they are a quasi Super Center you will NOT find some things you normally would because they have to make decisions on what to stock (on their "limited" shelves), and what not to stock. It also seems that they change their minds ever two weeks; "Now you see it and now you don't," kind of thing. Add to that the ASU students buy ALL the Great Value products off the shelves, like a swarm of worker ants. Then you mix in the tourists and you end up with a Super Bummer Walmart! I have traveled the United States widely. I have visited other Super Walmarts in smaller towns and they were all the REAL thing. Why did they give us the beef-jerky Walmart? Wilkesboro and Lenoir are small cities near Boonen and they have REAL Super Walmarts. So if you are a tourist coming here, make a quick stop at those cities to get your Walmart shopping done. You can't miss them, they are on the same highways that bring you to Boone. read more

Refuse to honor online discounts, refuse returns(I can return the same item at a different Walmart, but they just don't take it for some bs reason). Very disappointed with this store. Im not sure if the vision center is associated with Walmart or not but the Doctor or whoever was in charge was very rude and impatient with me. I thought I had an appointment with the doctor at 3. So I get there at 250 and am standing at the register for 10 mins before he finally comes up to me. He asked if he could help and I said I think I have an appointment here. He replied : "Not here!" with a snide laugh. I was immediately humiliated by the tone in his response. We went on for a few seconds before I was absolutely embarrassed and left. buyer beware boone/app state location is ripping u off. this week i visited the wilmington nc store and boone app. state store locations. what i found was disturbing. work brought me to these two towns. i figured a town full of college students that are on right budgets would be the better deal. wrong. boone location was much much more in cost. examples: a klik bluetooth lock was less than 9$ in wilmington. boone location over $16. the wireless altec camera and speaker wilmington $59. boone. $69. the list goes on and on. items at boone location were extremely more expensive. i suggest if you dont need it right away,then in your travels hit another walmart. color changing outdoor lights. wilmington $35. boone $45. conclusion boone -appalachian state location will cost customers a lot more $$$$ then other stores in north carolina. buyer beware yiur getting ripped off. read more

I've been to countless to Wal-Mart's. While this store is actually pretty organized, and you'll find a lot of things not available at other grocery stores, during my trip.. I also noticed certain "essentials" were not available. Upon making a comment about this, a local told me.. that's pretty usual for this store. Also... Checkout Lines are ridiculously long, much longer than I've ever seen at a Wal-Mart. I'd use the Self Checkout if possible. Customer Service is Decent. ALSO - Use the Bathrooms in the back of the store, don't use the ones in the front. read more

First of all, The Store manager won't return phone calls from a prior concern and the whole feeling of the store is just stale. No one smiles or greets you when entering/exiting. Prices in the store ring up wrong. The team workers and management at this store don't care. This store doesn't have any positive qualities to highlight. read more
