Calamari Steak
Allison W.

Came here with my family for a nicer dinner on a Saturday evening and there was plenty of seating. We sat outside on the patio because we brought our dog, which they very kindly accommodated. They were happy to give us a water bowl for him. Great service, very friendly servers! The actual interior of the restaurant is very much a snapshot of an older era of Boulder Creek - the inside gives a dark, antique, museum-like ambiance with lovely live piano. The bar area especially looked inviting. I got the Calamari Steak and had it with the salad. The calamari was grilled well and cut easy, and the flavor was rather plain but texture was great, which I prioritize in calamari because overcooking it can cause it to be like rubber. The vegetables felt very fresh as well. They gave my mother the incorrect dish, but when they realized this, they immediately went to make her the pasta that she originally ordered without hesitation and left her with the accidental salmon dish she was served as well. Really great customer service, overall we had a good family dinner here!

We went for a birthday dinner on Sunday 11/30. We had a wonderful experience! The service by our server, Allan, was fantastic. Everyone enjoyed their meals. This is not a rushed experience, there is plenty of time for conversation and to enjoy your drinks and appetizers. I love how historic the restaurant is. There was someone playing piano that evening and it was so nice. Would definitely recommend for a nice dinner.

Best atmosphere and service. Food was utterly awful, really terrible!!! Makes me so sad! The bruschetta was flavorless nothing. A absolute fail. The oysters Rockefeller were edible. Our server was very nice and my wine was tasty. Again food was less than zero.

Bit of a drive but so worth it. Kind of old school but the food is delicious. Raviolis with Gorgonzola is the best

The Queen B cocktail was absolutely the move. Smooth, floral, slightly citrusy with honey lavender notes, and super well balanced without being overly sweet. The whole place had that perfect mix of classy and energetic where you can still have conversations while enjoying the nightlife atmosphere around you. Definitely a spot that lives up to the hype for cocktails and late-night vibes.

Erica the bartender helped us at the bar with food and drinks. The second time I was engaged and I wanted my engagement party there. We set it up by the couches with "Happy Engagement" sign, "she said yes" napkins, Ring straws and Ring balloons. We all talked, took photos, had mimosas and brunch. Everyone was attentive and just had an amazing time. about 20 people showed up. The third time we went to the pool with 3 kids. It was a bit pricy for 5 people with food and drinks. It also did take a little long like 30 minutes for drinks but it was fun and the pool was warm. They brought out a pretzel that was rock hard. When I told them they quickly brought me a new one that was soft.

The poolside vibe was a much needed break and everything I was hoping for. Laying out to tan, getting cocktails delivered to your lounge chair, and taking a dip in the pool was so lovely. That said, splurge in the operative word. At a $25 entry fee and $16 a mixed drink, the tab can add up quickly. Decided not to opt for food or snacks because of the prices. But I knew I was paying for the experience and was happy to go all in for drink and vibes. Excited to be back :)

We came by on a Wednesday night and enjoyed some delicious cocktails along with amazing service. Not only did the bartenders help guests sitting at the bar, but they walked around checking on everyone in the lounge seating, and showed that they cared about the customer experience. They messed up on the first pair of drinks we ordered, but comped our second set of cocktails which they made ten times better. We really appreciated this. Adding to our lovely evening, the live music created just the right vibe. Mike Annuzzi, who plays here weekly, showcased some incredible talent on the guitar and vocals, performing great tunes including a jazzy rendition of Michael Jackson's Human Nature, Fly Me to the Moon, as well as some Richard Marx, Now and Forever. Sometimes we take good music for granted, but I don't want to forget the simple moments that create smiles. W XYZ in Sunnyvale features not just an awesome musician, but an excellent sound system too, with suitable volume and clarity, to go along with soothing melodies that ease your mind.
