The Falkville downtown is very small and quaint but cute. There's street parking right in front of the shop and I nabbed a spot. I walked into a really adorable environment - it felt super homey and several people were at work on laptops or chatting. They also had a few selections of local crafts and gifts, which I enjoyed checking out. They have small bites and cafe type breakfast and lunch items (eg paninis, breakfast sandwiches, cookies, muffins, etc) and an extensive hot and iced drink menu. They did have some Valentine's Day styled seasonal specialty lattes advertised, but I didn't really like the sound/flavor combinations of any of them. Instead, I was able to build my own latte with flavor add-ins, which is nice. I ordered an iced latte with dark chocolate and maybe cinnamon? It's been a while since my visit but I seem to recall cinnamon. The service was adequate; my drink was ready in a timely fashion and the barista checked to see if I wanted an alternative milk. However, I didn't get the most friendly vibe and when I asked about the specialty drinks (e.g., which one is your favorite?) the answer was pretty flat and noncommittal. Idk, just a slightly weird vibe. Nothing crazy unpleasant, I just didn't feel very welcome, I guess. No biggie, I wanted to start the drive home anyway. I enjoyed my drink. It was nicely balanced and I could definitely taste the dark chocolate. And, unless I'm hallucinating this memory/flavor add-in, the cinnamon gave it a nice kick. It was a pleasant pick-me-up on the ride home. If you're in the area, I'd recommend stopping by for a tasty drink and some fun decor/gift shopping.

For a while, I was eating there twice a week due to board game night and D&D night and I never got tired of the food. Any of the pizza themed options are great, and I love the Baseball Bat (PB&J panini). My kiddo loves the pretzel sticks. Aside from the food, they have a great selection of D&D stuff and TCGs. I huge selection of miniatures and Citadel paint. Warhammer stuff too, and some board games and other nerdy stuff like dice, jewelry, candles, etc. They have a growing selection of board games to play for free while you're there. And a large calendar of different events. I'm partial to board game nights on the first and third Mondays each month, but I also want to try some of the D&D one-shots. I'm also looking forward to Daggerheart events once that is out. Aside from the great selection of merchandise, they all seem to be really great people. I love spending time there. Great place!

I love all nerdy things and had pinned Current on my to-try collection a while back. It's a little easy to miss driving around, but my GPS got me there. Parking is pretty limited -- the business next door had to ask some people to move because they'd created a spot behind the worker's truck, lol -- but I had a lovely experience once I found my way inside! They have a pretty large menu for a game cafe, and much of it is vegan or vegetarian. Pressed sandwiches, burgers, baked goodies, smoothies, all kinds of coffee drinks, and salads/wraps. I wanted something warm, light, and comforting. As simple as it may be, I was thrilled to find a pressed PB&J on the menu for a low price. I was offered my selection of a surprisingly large number of jellies (strawberry for me!) and my sandwich came out quickly. I had both a sweet tea and a latte -- hydration and stimulation! Lol. The food was good, and my mint mocha latte tasted just like an Andes mint. My favorite part of this place, though, is the vibe! Nerdy and inclusive. Wish all places could be like that. :) Fun merchandise from all kinds of anime, shows, games, movies, etc; board games; a tidy all-gender restroom; Pride flags of different flavors everywhere...it really did feel like a pocket of welcomeness. I don't see enough spaces like that in the southeast, sadly, and so it's extra nice when you do come across it. There were lots of teens and folks wearing alternative style hanging around in cozy couches and tables playing games and I just love to see it! While the game and card selection isn't /massive/, it's perfectly satisfying (remember -- not a ton of space in the building) and the staff was more than willing to help with people's questions. This is a wonderful space to hang out, make new friends (if games/anime/nerd culture is your scene), and grab a bite to eat. Give it a go if it sounds like your speed!

3.5/5. I came here…read moreto grab a few donuts to take home with me a week or two ago. To be totally transparent, I honestly am not the hugest fan of donuts, so my opinion may not be the most informed. There's plenty of room to park and I like that they stay open a little later than many other places that offer donuts. It's more spacious than I thought it would be inside and there are a few tables to sit at. The trash cans looked a little full and one table had some sugar spilled on it but other than that it was clean and warm. Donuts are displayed in a case by the register. There were a LOT of choices and I remember it being mostly unlabeled so I kind of had to guess based on appearance. There was a menu on the wall but one couldn't necessarily 100% reliably match the listed items to their counterparts in the case. Not a huge deal, but would be a positive change imo to add labels next to the actual donuts. Anyway, I wound up with a chocolate cake donut, a blueberry cake donut, and a chocolate glazed regular/fried donut with peanuts on top. The woman operating the cashier was supremely pleasant and really made my visit - she was just so warm and friendly. She threw in a couple donut holes, either as a kindness or perhaps because they were nearing closing time anyway. Regardless, the were appreciated! I brought the donuts home to my husband and we ate them for dessert later. He likes fried donuts more so he got about 80% of the fried (I wanted a little bite lol), I ate the blueberry donut, and we split the chocolate cake donut and donut holes. The holes were airy and had a nice vanilla flavor. The traditional fried donut was a little dry and the glaze a little waxy, but the peanuts were a nice addition. The chocolate cake donut was heavy and the sugary exterior was crackly in a way I didn't particularly love, but it was tolerable. The blueberry cake donut was my favorite part, as it was fluffy and not overly sweet. Again, I tend to be kind of hard on donuts because they're just not my favorite treat, so definitely give them a shot and see for yourself how you feel about them. Kudos for the lovely and kind service.

They have two windows/lanes, which is nice! The menu has coffee drinks of all kinds, Lotus energy drinks, and a couple extras like chai or hot chocolate. I thought the prices were pretty reasonable, comparable to other similar businesses, and generally less $$ than Starbucks. The service I received was pleasant and I got my order in a reasonable amount of time. I tried one of their specialty drinks, the Bulldog Blitz, which is a latte with chocolate, caramel, and hazelnut. It was certainly a pretty drink, with swirls of chocolate running up and down the sides of the clear cup. For me, the taste was just okay. I didn't get much other than coffee and milk flavors -- not strong on any of the add-ins. I like my coffee like I like my dessert - sweet, lol. And this wasn't especially sweet. It was creamy at least. Not a bad place to stop by, especially if you don't wanna get out of your car, and I often don't, lol. I'd return in the future and try a different drink, or ask for some extra flavor shots.
