The app bills itself as download and go. Bass on my experiences so far, I'd like to rebrand it download and wow. You download the app, pay a onetime fee of $19 so they check your selfie/drivers license picture, and once you're approved, you're all set and can use the app to locate nearby scooters and reserve one up to 15 minutes in advance. I submitted my photo and was quickly approved. I hadn't driven a scooter before, so while watching some of their helpful intro videos, I saw that they offer a free lesson. Tried to book a lesson, but it was only for the NYC locations. I emailed their help team about it and on a Sunday afternoon, they replied in 15 minutes with the link to book a DC lesson. I went to my lesson tonight, and was blown away again by their customer-centric approach. Charlie was my instructor and he provided very thorough walkthroughs of how to use the bike, how to move around with the bike, turning corners, and sent me on well-supervised trips up and down the alley and around the block. I LOVE that they take the time to do this to make sure people are comfortable and safe on scooters. Seriously, it was at least 45 minutes, if not an hour, of one-on-one scooter tutorials. Charlie was very patient, didn't laugh out loud when I ran into a fence, and was super encouraging as I got more familiar with the moped and felt brave enough to accelerate above 6 MPH. I even got a ride credit at the end of my free lesson! Fun to drive and looking forward to exploring more of the city with Revel. Wish I'd taken a picture of their office and garage on Sheridan St., but maybe it's better that there's no photo evidence of my inaugural scooter ride. By the way, both the fence and I are ok.

The summer breeze running through my hair as I breath in the scene of the wharf on both sides for 2 hours as we engage in small talk with the crew and other patrons - what more could I ask for on a Saturday evening? It's BYOB and food so we stopped by Chop't, grabbed a couple wraps so we could eat something easily handheld, and 2 bottles of wine. Make sure to bring your own cups and utensils. There is a tiny bathroom downstairs (I believe they're called "heads"), but I'd suggest you use the bathroom before heading on board- never fun to be drunk and crammed into a coffin sized bathroom with nowhere to wash your hands (they do have sanitizers though). The staff will guide you to the bathroom beforehand so take advantage of that. There's no "tour guide," but feel free to engage with the crew and ask any questions. We're technically from the area, and I'm very familiar with The Wharf, so I didn't need any of that. I was more in it for the scenery and being on water while watching the sun set. We had a fantastic time and would definitely do it again!

I get they were mainly coordinating the many things that come with sailing, and I wasn't looking for a tour guide or anything, but mom and I only knew what we were near because we happened to overhear it since we sat right next to one of them. Even when we tried to initiate conversation and ask questions, they weren't very talkative. Even though mom and I were talking, it was still a quiet and awkward ride. At the end, he went around and chit chatted a little bit with all the different groups, but not with us, maybe because we already talked to him by asking him questions? We definitely got a weird vibe from it all. The check-in process is smooth and the boat is spacious with a bathroom below deck too and they let you bring your own drinks and snacks, but I'd probably go for another company next time
