    Banana split
    Sean K.

This place is really cool. They serve Blue Bell ice cream, and we decided to share a banana split (see photo). After tax and tip, it was $12, but quite delicious in every way. And the view of the water is spectacular! The service was also good. They asked if we wanted the nuts on top (I assume to check for dietary restrictions) which was nice. I think the photo of the banana split speaks for itself so nuff said here.

The location of this spot seemed to have closed and now they serve inside the Snoopy's Pier restaurant. We ordered at the counter but I think they messed up my order. I saw the lady trying to pry something off the chocolate barnacle and it popped off, but I think it took a piece of the dessert with it. When I compare photos, I am missing the top chocolate piece. A little pricey for what it is. It did taste like a chocolate cookie and cream dessert. Good ending for the dinner meal but a little underwhelmed by the presentation if it's missing the top!

A great little spot for dessert! Located out on the peninsula just before the main bridge to Padre Island you'll find Scoopy's. Coincidentally located next to Snoopy's restaurant this dessert stop carries cakes, ice cream's, and sandwich treats. Our server was exceptionally pleasant and filter sent on the history of the area. We decided on a couple of items in store, and a couple of to go items for later! Everything we tried from waffle cone ice cream to tiramisu was fresh, delicious, and satisfied our sweet tooth. Newly remodeled it's cozy and quaint with a view of the bay while you enjoy a little bit of dessert.

I was charged $9 for a single piece of key lime pie. The pie was fine but nowhere worth $9. Their website says $5.99 a slice, when I pointed it out to the employee, she said "oh sorry that's not an updated menu." I wouldn't have ordered it if I knew I was getting a single piece of mediocre pie that cost nine dollars. Absolutely ridiculous

Service was really nice, I like the Sunday more, the brownie with ice cream wasn't my favorite, and I only like the moose on top of the cookie ice cream. U can eat outside with a nice view. I well go here again and I want to eat lunch r dinner here next with a another desert!!

Small cafe but very delicious! The girl that helped us was very sweet and worked quickly. The shop was clean and had a great view of the bay.

Great ice cream! Got Mocha and Almond, and my friend got Strawberry. We loved it! It was a good dessert for us after a good meal and some hiking. I would definitely recommend stopping here after a day at the beach or National Park.

The second best ice cream shop in all of the world in my opinion only playing second fiddle to rockadilly's in new Braunfels Texas. They serve some unique and truly tasty treats in the Corpus Christi and surrounding areas. I can't even express the awesomeness that is Scoopys so so good. They do have an issue with inconsistencies when it comes to portions but it all taste so good I didn't even care. I had the banana split, sweet sticky rice with vanilla ice cream and caramel and the ice cream they call the Barnicle. I recommend you try all three immediately, like now go.... Stop reading... You're still here.. Why are you still here and not eating the Barnicle. Why five stars and not JLfoodie certified: Inconsistency in portion control Recommendations: Sticky sweet rice with vanilla ice cream and caramel *Poor *Decent *Good *great *Best *JLFoodie Certified Food. Best Service. Good Cleanliness. Great Value. Great I realize I'm a food snob, I eat out regularly some weeks 3 to 4 times which in my opinion makes me a bit of an expert on food, service, quality etc. I say it how I see it and I usually will give restaurants at least three chances before I give up on them and in some cases after some time has past I revisit the restaurants to see if anything is changed and my reviews reflect that change.

My family and I visited on a Sunday evening as it has been a place very special to my daughter. We walked in just for ice cream but, kids were hungry and they ordered sandwiches, while my wife and I went for Ice cream only. I had one of their specials which was sticky rice with ice cream. My wife went for a strawberry Sunday and they both were delicious, try it and you won't be disappointed. They girls had simple sandwiches, then had yummy warm brownies with Ice cream. We sat outside, enjoyed social distancing, and a great sunset on their deck.

Best ice cream on the island! Great service too!

We went on a Friday night without reservations, which felt like a gamble, but the off season timing and bad weather worked in our favor. We ended up grabbing two open seats at the sushi bar, which turned out to be the best spot in the house. Our waitress, Kaylee, was great. Friendly, attentive, and she knew the menu well. Drinks stayed full, food came out at a good pace, and she never interrupted the flow of our conversation. We started with a couple of hot apps. The pork gyoza, steamed and pan seared, was solid. But the torched wagyu stole the show. That's the kind of dish you think about later and fantasize about having again. Sitting at the bar made the experience. CJ was the sushi chef working in front of us and he brought a lot of positive energy to the night. He checked in with us, shared a few samples of rolls he was working on, and clearly enjoys what he does. It added a lot to the experience. We ordered the Stevie Ray, Rainbow Roll, Don't Fear the Reaper, and the Prodigy. Every roll was excellent. The Rainbow Roll is one of my favorite classic rolls. It's always been my go to at any sushi spot as it's simple and clean, which makes it a good test of quality, and this was one of the best I've had. The space looks great inside and has a solid atmosphere. The menu has a lot of great options, the rock and roll theme to the menu is fun, and the service continues to stand out. We'll be back. If you can grab a seat at the sushi bar when CJ is working, do it.

As a vegan, that made me excited because actual Mexican food usually has less cheese and can be made vegan. The business is quaint. There was a friendly hostess to welcome us in and our server was very hospitable. We ordered the chile relleno without cheese, zucchini in pasilla pepper sauce, and mole verde off the vegetarian options on the menu. We also enjoyed guacamole and chips. Our server was happy to accommodate our vegan modifications and it was really easy to communicate with him. The flavors are just WOW! Hands down the best guacamole of my life. The sauces are vibrant and rich. Everything tasted so fresh. And the prices for this quality of food cannot be beat. My husband and I literally licked sauce off the plates to make sure we did not miss one ounce of that authentic Mexican flavor. This place is top of our list of businesses to visit next time we are in town visiting family. We had an incredible experience and cannot wait to continue to explore the vegetarian menu options.

I'm not a professional food critic, but I do know seasoning, regional Mexican flavors, and what well‑prepared food should taste like -- and this just wasn't it for us. The restaurant didn't feel well-kept, and it appeared that only one server and one cook were working, plus we and another couple were the only ones there. We were served chips and salsa to start. The salsa, a taquera‑style orange sauce, was actually the best part of the meal. The chips, however, were extremely hard, not fresh, and definitely not warm. They looked house‑made, but whatever they were fried in made them almost inedible. I ordered the ribeye street tacos, and the steak was overcooked, had an odd taste, and wasn't enjoyable. I asked for extra cilantro and onions, which didn't happen, and the chimichurri they brought out was basically oil with a few seasonings floating in it. I almost complimented the Dr Pepper because it had a unique sweetness -- until I realized why. The red glass had visible staining on the inside. When I wiped the rim with my napkin, it came off dirty. They also don't offer straws, so whatever residue was in that glass is what you end up drinking. Between the food quality, the cleanliness concerns, and the overall condition of the restaurant, this was a no for us. How this place has earned such high mentions is honestly beyond me.

The server was not very attentive- for example, I asked for the added Brussels, bacon and onions as an add on to the tenderloin tips but I never got them. We also waited a while for drinks and we had our order taken about 30ish minutes after we got there, despite the lack of customers. She was very nice but the service was disappointing. The meat quality however, was really great and both dishes pictured were perfectly cooked, totally recommend the little Jane. But the tenderloin tips left much to be desired literally, because it was not much food at all. For 20 dollars, I would like to feel fullish, but it felt more like an appetizer or tapas than a full meal. The other people in my party got a special (the beef stroganoff) and chicken Alfredo, which both were good, not spectacular. The part that was enjoyable about the pasta dishes however, was the fact that they have different pasta specials, so you could get the Alfredo with linguini or the specialty pasta of the day or week (I don't know which). The pineapple mojito was noteworthy as well, fresh and you couldn't taste the alcohol at all. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing but it wasn't a very positive experience, especially for the high bill. Will I ever go again for dinner ? Probably not Will I go for drinks? Absolutely! On our most recent visit, the steelhead trout appetizer was rancid. I mentioned this politely. While the new bartender was professional and tried to make it right by offering a replacement appetizer, it never arrived. Our food then took well over an hour to come out. Although I didn't complain, the bartender noticed the delay and comped a round of drinks, which was appreciated. When the meals finally arrived, my wife's grilled chicken was significantly undercooked. She got a full bite of raw chicken. My lamb had good flavor but was inconsistently cooked, with rare pieces despite being ordered well done. On our previous visit, my mother-in-law ordered the crab cakes. Her meal was served about 25 minutes after the rest of the table, and the crab cakes contained almost no crab. She ultimately did not eat her dinner. She brought this to the manager's attention at the time, and no effort was made to correct the issue. This is now two visits in a row where I've watched family members leave without being able to eat their meals. The bartender clearly understands service, but the kitchen execution and management response are where things are breaking down. I'm sharing this in hopes that ownership or management takes a serious look at consistency, food safety, and follow-through. This restaurant used to be much better, and I'd like to see it get back there.
