Family owned with a cute and friendly vibe. Easy to read menu with build your own options. The fruit is fresh and flavorful and the sorbet bases are sweet and delicious! Very refreshing on a hot summer day. The only reason I have a 4 out of 5 is the lack of a "healthy" option as the sorbet bases all have a fair amount of sugar in them. To be honest over the last 2 years scoops has been a consistent and enjoyable treat in Merced - however I just went back after they relocated and I'm genuinely shocked at this portion level. I'm not sure how this is considered 16oz - the açaí itself is not even 2 inches off the bottom and the toppings barely reach the top of the container (not the lid). With that being said the quality of their bowls is still very good and hoping this isn't a consistency across orders. read more

Me and my lil brother was in their for a total of 8-10 mins. Now the Ambience is like a 3. Almost a 2. Very small, no tables to sit and enjoy the Açaí bowls. Which makes no since. Scoooooops!!! That's how I say it when my family and I drive there. Scoops is so delicious and authentic. It is a cute hole in the wall type of small business. I am so happy Merced finally has another option for açaí bowls other than just Jamba Juices played out flavors. They offer a rewards program also you just need to add your phone number to build points. Customer service is kind and helpful with recommendations on flavors you may like and even offer samples. One thing that did rub me the wrong way was while waiting for my order one of the workers friends was just chatting with them while standing in front of the pickup window... very inconsiderate I think because at first I thought she was waiting for an order until I asked and she said no... and continued to talk with the worker about upcoming plans they had for the weekend lol. read more

The person who took our order was friendly, gave us recommendations and answered all of our questions. We ended up getting the OG Scoops bowl. The toppings were good, but the acai base was frozen and hard. Not sure if it was served that way because it was really hot outside. I'm not used to eating my acai bowl frozen. Beware: this spot is addicting!! This family-owned place easily became one of my favorite spots (if not my favorite) in Merced! Chris, his family, and everyone that work here are all super friendly and always give the best service (patient, informative, welcoming). There's no sitting room; It's pretty much two little rooms (one for the servers and one for customers) so it can get a little crowded but we usually take it to eat at home anyway so we don't mind. It's spooky season right now, so the decorations are cute! All the bases are super yummy and there are so many ways to customize your açaí bowl to your liking. If you don't know what to get, they're happy to give you samples which is super helpful in building your own bowl or choosing a Signature Scoops Bowl. My favorite flavors and textures are the açaí and matcha bases, and personally cacao nibs and granola are a must have. The bases here are nice and thick so there's a nice texture and they don't turn into a soup before you can finish. And if you're still reading this, don't mind the gaps in the bowl; they weigh out the bases so you get the right amount for the size you get. It'll run you $10-$15 but it's so worth it for what you get. read more

Having an open window to see the process they go through to make each one is nice. No seating what so ever, and that is mainly to do with how small the location is. Service is always good.
