Scoops gives its across the road neighbour 7 apples a run for its money. Scoops is newly opened, and is certainly very noticeable on Acland st. Pumping the latest hits that can be heard outside their wide open doors, and sporting a funky pink and black motif, it is obvious that Scoops are looking to attract the attention of the St Kilda foot traffic. Im glad I noticed it, because their icecream and gelato is delicious. Im already planning on stopping in for their mint and chocolate ice cream on a hot summers day, because I can just imagine how refreshing that will be. It was great in winter, and I'm sure it will be even better in summer. They offer an exotic array of ice cream plus of course the standard chocolate and vanilla- but even those are so much more than your average flavours. Do yourself a favour, give this fantastic icecreamery a try.

An awesome little place in an awesome little neighborhood…read more St. Moritz is an inviting little restaurant with a distinct European flare. It has an open airy atmosphere, fun lighting and a fantastic all night happy hour on Mondays. For a couple of yanks not used to $12 dollar beers this was a welcome development. And the Monday $1 oysters didn't hurt either! We started the meal with the truffled polenta chips and truffled mushroom arancini. Pretty much anything with the word truffled will instantly be ordered when I look at a menu. Both of these were crispy and delicious with excellent aioli dipping sauces lacing the plates. Being a couple of Americans we could not resist the Kangaroo carpaccio. It was good as a novelty but did not blow me away. The scallops and oysters were also very good. Hands down the best item we ordered, however, was the Lamb mint pea risotto. This was a masterful risotto prepared to perfection. A symphony of subtle flavors topped with perfectly medium rare pieces of succulent lamb. This dish could not have been better!

Had the smoked fruit salad which was fresh and delicious and beautifully put together. Also tasted the pancakes which were also really good. If we are back in Melbourne we will definitely be back here.

A counter filled with a myriad of options that you can mix and match with a mountain of rice depending on the size of your appetite. This style of eating is common in Indonesia and while the bain-marie style might at first be off-putting, it really shouldn't deter you as the food is made fresh and turned over in such quick succession that you can be assured that it's not sat there for days on end. If you're in the mood for more veggies one day, or more meat the next you simply point and say "a little" or "a lot" as the kind staff pile everything on to your plate. Try and arrive early to order a tea and take a seat otherwise you will be fighting the office crowds of nearby buildings (the Indonesian consulate is next door and they all know where the good stuff is at!)

The food is prepared with quality ingredients and never disappoints. I work next door so this is a regular haunt and I hope more people come and support businesses who serve good food and smiles. Better than most Indonesian places I have had in Oz. Try the beef rendang and curry vegetables. I recommend this place for lunch dine in or takeaway each $10 or less.
